I have the same model. I swapped out the factory foot boards for quad addiction steel boards. Makes servicing a little easier . Saves me about an hour . I really like the machine but removing the plastics is a pain.
Well, myself, and the manufacturer disagree having the proper amount of oil will not cause the seal to blow. If the seal fails it will leak just because you are running insufficient amount of oil does not mean your seal has not failed. It just means you no longer have enough fluid in your diff to see the leak.
@@Maxsmotoshop actually unless Can Am fixed the issue, the service manual says 1" below and it's true many people blow the seals due to not following the correct procedure.
@@noahhansell826 if your diffs are leaking, it is because you are allowing dirt to build and force their way past the seal or you are using a pressure washer to blow that dirt through the seal. The exact words in the owners and service manual state the oil level should be level with the bottom of the threats. If you had any experience working on this machine, you would know it is nearly impossible to measure the oil level on the inside of a differential. The fact that you think myself, Can-Am mechanic reading the service manual from the manufacturer is wrong means you are definitely delusional.
you are right. you fill the front to the full hole, the rear is 1” below. i’ve done it wrong once and grenaded a diff. DO NOT FILL REAR DIFF TO FILL HOLE
I believe it’s every 3000 km recommended in the service manual but I would recommend every year if you ride hard and every two years if you only use your machine for late duties and if you’re doing really deep muddying, maybe twice a year
Do you know whay there would be oil in my air box i went to put a spark plug in it and the air box drain plug was kinda in my way so i pulled it and at least a 1/2 to 1 cup of oil came out dont smell of gas just straight oil any advice would be really appreciated
I bought the oil change kit from the dealer and it came with the washer for the transmission plug and a 1 litre bottle of engine oil. I thought that was going in the transmission.
Service manual says every 3000 km but it usually looks absolutely terrible at that point. I recommend once a season or every two years depending on how hard you ride.

👍
For the gear box, did you just fill it below the fill hole as you did the diffs?
How much oil do you need to fill up the transmission oil after draining it ? And the diffs ones?
Excellent right to the point. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
What type of oil is used for the transmission.?
When you will do a video for the differential oil of the Outlander 700?
It’s essentially exactly three same
It is pretty much the same, but I am hoping to do one soon
Adding transmission fluid, dontou fill till it comes out? I did not see a dipstick in the video
@@sethlanterman8977 yes fill it until it comes out
The rear diff is supposed to be around 1” lower than fill hole. I’ve seen guys blow seals constantly after overfilling them.

Gear box oil change fill and drain plug is in the same place on a 19 570?
Should be similar for all outlanders
@@Maxsmotoshop Thanks for the reply! Ok I figure that. Got to change all my fluids now this weekend..
How often would you do this? Every 50 hours? And I assume a 650 xmr 2022 is the same outlander.

Could be that you are over filling your oil. Or maybe your machine was tipped on the side at some point

The oil change kit is only for the engine oil
What tool do you use for gearbox fill plug? I stripped mine
15 mm socket or wrench
Where do I find one of those nifty little fill hoses?
I believe it was a piece of 3/8 fuel hose
Will this work on the new 500/700. Or is that different?
It should be very similar, but soon as I get a chance to do this job on the newer machine I will make a video
Awesome thanks!!
Thanks man
How do I know when to change the diff oil?

@@Maxsmotoshop thank you for the response, I’m trying to learn to work on my own 2017 can am outlander 570 max xt without having to take it somewhere
5mm, not "5 mil". Yes, there's a difference.
🤣🤣🤣
5mm = 5 millimeters, Metric
5 mils = 5 thousandths (5/1000 of 1 inch), Imperial measurement
Just saying.
