Excellent video! I have been employing many if not all of these points for most of my career, and they are all effective. It does take time, but the earlier in your career you starting following these ideas, the sooner they pay off! From McDonald's to IBM, hard work is rewarded. Well done, Mr. X. Even though it's none of my business, I'd still like to at least know in what industry you work! 😀

I love this video, Mr X. These are great pieces of advice, especially for young men and women that are just starting their careers post college or trade school. One additional piece I would add that has definitely helped me be successful in my career is to ALWAYS be professional. Always be respectful and NEVER take 'the bait' of someone else's provoking/prodding for a reaction or a unprofessional response. Sometimes in meetings about difficult decisions at work disagreements can happen, or in emails, but always remain respectful and professional. This doesn't mean you roll over and agree to everything, speak your mind and give your opinion as you may have a great idea that helps the company, but do so in a calm and professional way. My two cents!
    Appreciate the video! Cheers.

Fantastic advice. This is exactly what I tell my employees. But like you said, some just do enough to get through the work day and some do less. The ones that do less don’t last long, and many times, just enough is not enough. Worked my ass off to get where I’m at.

Great video , to be successful is all about your mindset and having personal goals and working towards them. You always need to have or setup multiple sources of income no matter how small. Take risks as you mentioned ...a great saying is if you aren't willing to take risks , you will always be employed by someone who does. Ideally for me , being self employed is always the ultimate goal, all your time and effort is for your own growth and when you are self employed, there isn't such a thing as 8 hours. you work 24/7. Work hard , play hard.

Thanks Mr X, hopefully your list will help some folks push past their challenges. sadly the majority of folks aren’t willing to put forth the effort necessary to achieve success (as they define it). Haha, my lic plate on one of my cars is “NVR L8”. I think I got ya beat, I can only think of 3 times I was late… mostly natural disaster type situations. I think you left a few things out, (I know your list) but still, add this…learn from others. If you are at level “x” seek out those at the next level up and try and learn from then. Ask questions, be a sponge…. Once you level up, find someone at the next level up and repeat… And this; stay away from negative people. Surround yourself with motivated, positive people. Once you start to achieve, it’s amazing how many people will want to pull you back down. They don’t like being left behind. Distance yourself from them in a hurry. Ok hopefully that wasn’t too much…

Truer words have never been spoken. As you stated, many will follow this formula and stop before they realize their potential because of a few set backs. But success is often built on a foundation of failures. You just have to remain disciplined and determined. It will happen if you hold the course.

Great stuff, I'm going to add that finding your "why" is the starting point for any journey of success. If your goals aren't in alignment with who you are as a person you won't be successful.
Success isn't about money either, although it can be. If teaching is your passion you will never be rich but you can still have goals, like helping 1000 kids graduate college, or whatever it is.

I follow some of this. I put in a LOT of time and effort but I'm not often early. I don't really take risks. I'd say it would vary from job to job but there would be many times where employees could be taken for granted without personal benefit. I still think it's a great attitude.

There are studies out there that the general population sees a business man in T-shirt or polo and jeans as more successful than the one in a suit now. The perception of people like Zuckerberg making millions and not having to wear a suit while the lower level managers do have to wear a suit has caused a shift in general perception.
And prior to that, the suit was a shift away from men in jeans working their farm. The jeans and shirt was representative of someone who owned their own land and essentially had control of his own destiny and was seen as successful. That then shifted to the suit as office managers started making the big bucks (and Wall Street workers making insane money). Now perception is shifting again.

Best advice I can give you. It’s a grind without immediate payoff. And I’m not talking about money. Just keep at it. Persistence

I believe and do most of the things on this list. So many people feel entitled and aren't willing to put in the work. It's a shame

After putting in the work for 7 years and getting absolutely nothing for it other than to see the executives get fat bonuses, people give up. Corporations and CEOs caused this more than the workers.
Look at wage graphs from the 50s to 80s and you'll see a reasonably steady trend with CEOs and workers curving up at a steady path. In the 90s, CEO pay took off like a rocket while employee pay stagnated, no longer climbing in line with company profits. At the same time, they got more efficient and accomplished more than ever, but were never were rewarded.
I understand why so many feel hopeless that no matter how much work they put in, it will never get them anywhere. They've seen it in action for 2 decades now. There are too many soulless corporations who see employees as tools to burn through until they break, discard, and replace rather than entrepreneurial companies led by CEOs who know how to actually lead a team.

Whenever people ask "what do you do to afford all of this?" My standard reply is: "I do the things that you don't" 😂😂😂
I'm more interested in what's on preorder than what you do for a living, unless you do something sexy, like moonlighting as 007 in Octopussy 😂🎉

Great video. I became a Chief Financial Officer at age 35 and always get questioned at how I became so successful at such an early age. Everything you laid out here is absolute truth. I always tell people talent is and always will be secondary to determination and passion.

I would like to add, that there is always work to be done and ways to earn more money. All you need is some desire. I know lots of people who do next to nothing at work get minimum and are ok with it. Some people say I am ready but I don't know what to do, I always answer if you don't know then go and ask.
