5 minute Resistance Band Workout for Strength | Seniors, beginners

  • This 5 minute resistance band workout will build muscle and increase bone density, which both decrease as we age if we don't move. The exercises will strengthen your your upper body, lower body, and core. You can use tube style bands or strappy bands with these exercises.
    ✳️ Squat/chair standup
    ✳️ Row
    ✳️ Tricep extension
    ✳️ Bicep curl
    ✳️ Twist
    The workout can be done without bands if you’re just starting out -- just add the bands to all or part of the workout when it feels easy. If you exercise regularly, this is a compact energy booster and muscle builder!

    These exercises are doable and just what I needed to get moving again. This makes such a difference in the morning (or anytime) and helps with the stiffness I'm beginning to now experience later in life. Your cat reminds me of my cat. Oh how, they love to sunbathe!

    Hi so glad to have found this video by you guys too. I've been trying strength training using bottles/can, buy feel ready to trying something slightly heavier. My son has the resistance bands your mum's using, just wondered what weight to start with? Thanks xx

    This was a good one, but I do have difficulty holding bands as I have osteoarthritis and carpal tunnel, but I’ve tried. Also my resistance bands aren’t very long, well not as long as yours.

      Totally understand. We applaud you for focusing on increasing your strength! The scrappy-type bands can come in different lengths. The tube style bands with handles may be easier for you to hold. Like the mini loop bands, they can be found in discount stores or online.
