    I acted surpised at the fuel system working after the spoiler many episodes ago, looked rather spectacular with the clear hose showing all 8 lines running at once
    Congrats on these major milestones

    I took delivery of my 928 about two months ago. I had no idea where to begin especially with the CIS injection. I’ve been watching these videos over the past few weeks and they have taken all the mystery away from what seemed like a daunting task. Thank you Todd for not only your clear and concise instructions but also how you present it all on camera. All the way from Toowoomba QLD Australia a huge thank you 👍👍

      Hi Matthew, oh exciting! what year/condition is your car? Im really glad you are enjoying my videos... this is exactly why I made them! Shout if you need me to show/video any particular bit...

      @@MrToddgibbs It’s a 1984 S2 Automatic. Not too many here in Australia and very underrated compared to the local market of the same era. I will be doing an overhaul of the CIS injection system plus replacing plugs and leads. Hopefully I’ll manage to remove them all in one piece…I’d like to leave the motor in the car if I can help it lol. If I get stuck on anything you haven’t already covered in your videos I will certainly send out a long distance SOS. Thanks again for all your dedicated hard work Todd. You’re a god send.

    Absolutely a delight to see how far you've come Todd. The engine looks totally awesome sitting there all nice and clean compared to what it once looked like.

      Ah Terry, its been a long journey but Im still going strong :) It occurred to me the other day that this (car) project is no different to my main job (computer games). They are both huge projects that you need to break into smaller tasks and stay focused on each one. Thinking about everything is daunting, but one task at a time is easy :) Hope you are well!

      Thanks, it is a very pretty engine. ... my fear is that there is a correct order to assemble all this and Im not following it.... which means I will probably have to remove chunks to fit forgotten bits. ... but lets carry on and find out :)

    I have a 1979 928 I just started working on and it is dumping fuel over the back of engine (or bell housing). I can't seem to see where it is leaking from. Could it be something under the fuel distributor?

    Hi Todd, I have a question: did you also measure the return flow (outlet FD towards tank)? I am struggling with my kjet for more 2 years now, I don’t seem to get 1120 cc/30 secs, instead I have 400 to 500 cc/ 30 secs😢….FD, WUR has been refurbished, new fuel pump, accumulator and filter …all my pressures (control , system and rest pressures) are they should be, yet the return flow is out of spec….. Gerrit

    • @MrToddgibbs
      @MrToddgibbs  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Gerrit- I didn’t measure any flow at all. My WUR is original (not rebuilt). I renewed fuel pump and filter (original accumulator), every pipe replaced. New Mercedes injectors. I rebuilt the fuel distributor. That’s it… and it worked (fingers crossed)

    • @user-wk9cn1rn6r

      @@MrToddgibbs That’s great news, when I saw the Porsche drive away, the sound was awesome and I think you
      did the job well, my friend.
      I am asking about the return flow, because I have a peculiar starting issue cold and warm.
      Cold start only goes smooth when flooring the pedal.
      Warm start only goes well when I restart the engine within the hour.
      Strangely enough, once engine in both cases cold and warm has started and I immediately try to do a restart,
      there is no problem.
      So the problem seems to be in building up the pressure….but it is as if I get too much fuel during the first start, because
      flooring at cold start means adding air….and with the warm start after 1 hour, it doesn’t work because it doesn’t need much fuel when warm…. any thoughts on this ? Gerrit

    • @MrToddgibbs
      @MrToddgibbs  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @user-wk9cn1rn6r hmm that is strange. Have you changed the fuel accumulator?

    • @user-wk9cn1rn6r
      @user-wk9cn1rn6r 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MrToddgibbs yes I did. It’s brandnew. It was the first thing I changed when encountering the problem.
      Perhaps a silly question, but could the height of the round metering plate cause this because it is linked with the plunger inside the fuel distributor…There is also a small deadzone when pushing on the metering plate before it pushes the plunger up and causing fuel to flow towards the injectors.
      So my question : if metering plate inside the venturi is a bit too high, can this cause fuel issues

    This video in particular is amazingly helpful to me as I make this progressively worse with my own 1978 928. A question for you Todd. If I made the mistake of turning the 3mm allen screw clockwise, then counterclockwise, and have now totally lost where it should be (Ughhh). And so now it won't start, although it used to run perfect. So first question is by turning it counter-clockwise to lean the mixture, or clockwise to richen it, is there a point where the screw will bottom out and then a "back off" of some amount of turns to get it to an initial setting? Right now it is continuously howling (engine off) with the injectors shooting fuel... It seems no matter which way I turn it, it makes no difference. Can something disconnect from the 3mm allen screw if it's turned too far? Yikes... I'm so ignorant of this K-Jetronic system (although I did find a factory manual PDF on line if you need it)... Thanks! And great job!!
