Jesus won the world in His weakness.
We would like for our Lord to be triumphant in His conquering of sin and death. But the people around Him as He saved the world were largely ignorant, indifferent, or antagonistic. Yet, Jesus won the world through His wounds.

His weakness and wounds for sure won my heart. I am going to be baptized this evening (April 30th, 2024). Thank you so much, Father! God bless!

I was baptized along with my children today. And then confirmed with my husband and oldest children. When my 12yr old son, on the way home, said that the entire mass was "comforting" and he felt lighter, which spurred all 3 to agree and talk about how they felt lighter. I shed tears. I didn't cry really, but my soul could feel what they were saying and it brought tears to my eyes. I think it's the first time that it has happened from pure joy. Thank you so much. You have played a large role for us all. When our father Mike blessed our infant she stopped crying (she is teething and yes, disruption occurred, she wasnt to happy to be baptized due to the water) and she instantly fell asleep. She felt God's love and was comforted. I'm sorry for ranting a bit, and maybe making no sense, but it is glorious. I pray that one day everyone can feel the way I feel right now ❤

Lord Jesus, may I recognise you and love you like Simon of Cyrene, in sorrow, defeat, ugliness, just like You love me in my brokenness. I adore You, oh Christ, and I bless You because by your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Jesus save me. I want to give up. Jesus I PRAISE you! Even as I’m struggling providing for my children. I’m so discouraged but I will keep faith because faith is all I have left! I suffer from lupus, and heart disease. I have two beautiful boys both are special needs. I’m overwhelmed because they require so much from me. I started homeschooling them due to bullying. Every month is a struggle to not end up on the streets but yet I still praise God. Thank you Jesus.

New York is evil and needs Jesus, it's a good thing. I'm a convert and wish I'd converted so much sooner, I can remember the Holy Spirit whispering to be about the Catholic Church years before I converted but I didn't understand. Procession is a good thing. Everything is spiritual, their souls feel it and the Holy Spirit will work.

Glad to hear you say that you realized quickly that the procession you attended in NY was about walking with Jesus. This is the exact reason why I loved the Communion & Liberation's Outdoor Way of the Cross procession. It's where I encountered Jesus, in the Way of the Cross, walking with Him and His cross on Good Friday. The opening prayer of this procession says, "There will be noise and confusion...." :)

I hear what you are getting at. I walk around the lake in my town and carry my rosary while saying it. I used to feel uncomfortable like mabey I am imposing or something but not anymore. We should not try to hide our faith. Maybe that’s a sign that we are not sincere about our love for our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for me I pray for you all. Have a blessed and holy Easter

Such a powerful homily and message! Thank you, Father Mike. Let‘s never ever forget the subversive Jesus who turned everything upside down and who saved us in utter frailty that became triumph. I want to walk with the rejected Jesus as hard and against-my-preferences as it is. I love you, Jesus. Thank you so much for dying for my sins. I love you, including your wounds and failure, you‘ve won my heart.

Fr. Mike that was the most heartfelt teachable Good Friday message. As you asked if you would accept Jesus in these different phases of his crucifixion. To my surprise I was saying yes because in our lives we've lived so many of these phases. The feeling of being embattled by life's circumstances and when you look around who's the only one there to give you love and strength through it all. Jesus because most of the time those around you don't see or hear your suffering. Thanks be to God for you. You remind us not only how to love Jesus but how to walk with him and to identify him in our live. God bless you.

I was meditating at the foot of the crucifix in my parish today and something told me to go read the passages of Simon of Cyrene. I thought "nah, what's for me there" and felt that tug that said "do it". Did it, and noticed for the first time that very same thing: that it's not a good samaritan that goes out to help Jesus - it's someone that's asked (forced?) to do it because Jesus *can't*. I don't know why that image never stuck to me - but it did today and kept lingering, because I didn't really understand the meaning, it's importance.
Now browsing at night, something told me to come and listen to this homily and this whole day suddenly makes sense ❤

For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to Us who are being Saved, it is the Power of God! - 1 Cor. 1:18. The Crucifixion of Jesus was 💯 Perfect from the 1st cornerstone of creation, it was God's Plan from the Very Beginning! Jesus' supposed "failure" (human perspective) when he was crucified~ painted the black background, that makes HIS Resurrection a masterpiece of Glorious Beauty for Our Redemption on Calvary & for our Salvation!❣️ By Your Holy Cross, You Have Redeemed The World!
In Silence we Wait~ Blessed HOLY SATURDAY to You All!

I loved the JPII center in Krakow. What stood out to me the most there is the white cassock JPII wore when he was shot. It's on display in a display case in the corner of a side chapel near the back of the church. I think it's too close to the corner, since you can't get behind it. Yes, you see some blood stains on the front, but there is much more on the back. I reached my phone behind the case to take a photo. It makes sense that most of the blood would be on the back side, since he was laid down as he was bleeding.
In that place, I felt the weight of history. JPII and Reagan were both shot about 6 weeks of each other. Both were instrumental to the collapse of the socialist regimes that oppressed their people. The world would be a very different place if either or both men had died so early in their terms. On top of that, the clothing would be a 2nd class relic of JPII. But the blood would be a 1st class relic of JPII. The combination makes for a rather large relic with a mix of 1st and 2nd classes. I wish I could have remained there another hour or two just to pray and experience being there in the presence of relics that came from a point in time that was pivotal to breaking the atheistic hold on that part of the world. Oh, how I wish they would pull it out enough so people could walk all the way around it.

Peace be. I just got word some people to someone who told me," they will kill me when they meet me at my block". Lol! Those people are saying nothing more than the High Officials of the temples have said to Jesus Christ because Jesus has Our Father and they do not.
We know Jesus win the world because of church (on this rock I will build by church). At church, there are no seats for high officials and regular. At church, every other seat is for his friend and one for him. Change. 11:20

Father Mike, Thank you for BIY and CIY. Could you do Archeology in a Year? Or Apologetics in a year? This would provide support for why the Holy Bible is truth. Have you studied Joel Kramer? The same way Catholic’s deny the True Presence they deny the Truth of the Holy Bible. You are in a special place right now on your journey to reach a large audience with apologetics. As a catechist of young children with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd we are swimming upstream trying to catechize children who are not taught that the Bible is Truth. Their parents say right to my face that the Bible is mainly a symbol that God wants us to know. Please pray about this. May God’s will be done. I thank God every day for the gifts He gives me through you, Ascension Press, Halo and all more. Happy Easter!!! It feels like a beautiful New Year! Also, I can’t help but see the A, B, C in a year Trinity connection.😇

To add, in the times and places in which slavery and Jim Crow were prominent, many people today claim they would have stood as righteous outliers or even resisted and obstructed those cultures. Of course, they do not actually know what they would be like if raised in another place and time. Having been interpellated in a culture's ideology, they would more likely be indifferent or even inclined towards the attitudes that we have come to universally reject today.
