he Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[a] is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo. An entry in the longrunning The Legend of Zelda series, it was released for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles on March 3, 2017. Breath of the Wild is set at the end of the series' timeline; the player controls Link, who awakens from a hundred-year slumber to defeat Calamity Ganon before it can destroy the kingdom of Hyrule.
Similarly to the original Legend of Zelda (1986), players are given little instruction and can explore the open world freely. Tasks include collecting multipurpose items to aid in objectives or solving puzzles and side quests for rewards. Breath of the Wild's world is unstructured and designed to reward experimentation, and the story can be completed in a nonlinear fashion. Development of Breath of the Wild lasted five years. Wanting to reinvent the series, Nintendo introduced elements such as a detailed physics engine, high-definition visuals, and voice acting. Monolith Soft, known for their work in the open world Xenoblade Chronicles series, assisted in designing landscapes and topography. The game was planned for release in 2015 as a Wii U exclusive, but was delayed twice due to problems with the physics engine. Breath of the Wild was a launch game for the Switch and the final Nintendo-published game for the Wii U. Two downloadable content packs were released later in 2017.
Breath of the Wild received acclaim for its open-ended gameplay and attention to detail, with it being deemed by many as one of the greatest video games of all time. Critics called it a landmark in open-world design, despite minor criticism for its technical performance at launch. It won numerous awards, including several game of the year honors. By early 2019, Breath of the Wild had sold over 14.27 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling Zelda game. A direct sequel for the Switch was announced at E3 2019.

The trick to the lost woods is to follow the wind. That's why you need the torch. All you have to do is watch the sparks from your torch. If the sparks are blowing ahead of you, you're good. Keep going until the wind changes, and if it does, stop and turn in that direction. It's really that simple!

I’m kind of proud of myself for getting into Korok Forest without going to TH-cam. I’m now watching this to see how other players got through the Lost Woods. What I did was climbed the trees that looked like the same color as the creepy tree with two torches, then paraglide until it brought me to the entrance with the hollow log

I just started playing this game a little over a week ago. It's become one my all time faves. I haven't even started on the divine beasts yet. I've been hitting shrines and opening up the map. Thanks for this video. The Lost Woods became frustrating. I think I noticed a pattern with the branches with white tips as a path to follow. I may be wrong though.
If you don’t kill the blight Ganons after several tries, try getting bomb arrows, better weapons and ofc the master sword it helps

@@zypher_tea9907 it’s because in the forest there is trail but a dangerous one. If you go out of the trail and get lost, u will restart back to those 2 torches. To stay on the trail u have to follow the way the torch is going. That’s why they ask u to bring a torch, if the flame is going left, turn left. or just follow the directions on the video [btw im pretty sure the little koroks kick u out of the forest because they think your an enemy or something.
You moved the camera too much, and for some reason my map was at a different angle then yours, making it really confusing. Also, I found my way by simply following the big spooky trees.

I thought the trees were pointing the way so I followed their "hands" and I ended up at the master sword.... now I'm hearing I had to light the torch and follow the wind? Guess I was stupid lucky...

I’ve spent hours trying to do this then I look up a tutorial and bam, first try! Also I figured out a way to avoid the mist, you have to save your game then when you see the mist about to fill up the screen open the menu and load the save.
Tried 5 times on my own before I surrendered myself to youtuber's wisdom. Got it on my second try thanks to this guide, thank you!

You just need to follow the flow of particles that hang in the forest air. Always stop and note which direction the wind pushes these particles.
This was easier than following the video lol

Ventus SGN I found the explanation great, although, I'm still lost 😂 I've seen some comments speaking about a torch and got confused now 😂😂😂 but your path works, it's just hard to follow, the explanation is great, though.
When you're fast enough, you can run back a few steps when the fog starts to thicken and evade it. That's how I managed to go through it. Walk until the fog starts -> run back a few steps -> try again to the left/right.

Or just follow the "normal" trees (the ones without a face in it) until the Sheikah Sensor starts bipping for a shrine. It always works and I'm kinda WTF that every other person seem to do it some other way.

I like the Lost Woods theme they used here, it makes me think of forest-fantasy kind of stuff from so many years, I can't help but think of the sacred groves from the movie with Tom Cruise that served partly as inspiration for the first game, and it still captures the nerves you got while tryin' not to get lost. Some wanted it to be Saria's song instead, but this game was not meant to be a remake of Ocarina.

Grab a torch, look which direction the embers go. Stop once and a while and check if its still straight. Super easy. Got it FIRST try this way. Trying the video's way I couldn't do it in 10+ attempts. Save some time

It is also possible to get there using the wind bomb from the very top of the woodland tower. It takes less than a minute and you don't have to deal with the mist.

Made it on my own and came here to see if I did it “right”, and just like so much in this game there’s multiple strategies. I recalled from Ocarina of Time that there were sound cues so I tried that after the torches since I could see no other clues. The only sound help was an increase in volume just before the white out, which gives enough time to reverse direction and stay where you are. Only took a few tries to “feel” my way through the path.
