Ehlers & Mcgrorty would fix 2 issues - you get a top flight winger for Sid, and you get a future piece with Mcgrorty to play with Jaeger when he gets a chance
I could see a three team trade so that we get Laine, Columbus retaining 20-30% of his salary, and a third team retaining 20% of his salary for a draft pick or a player.
Colorado is going to be forced into a “Hayes like” trade.
It’ll be interesting to see what they do between Landeskog & Nichushkin, but one of them is coming off that roster
Rust also has a track history of getting injured all the time. Definitely need a top 6. Preferably a sniper with a huge one tee. Wait we signed 20 depth defenseman and centers that will probably never see the light of day lmfao FML

O'Connor is an okay fill in for the top six but he needs to be on the third line, he just doesn't have the hands to be Sid's primary wing.
@@brandonn7770 i assume you're referring to Laine. Laine is worth the risk in our situation. Superstar talent & we have the character vets to help him stay on track. Sid, Karlsson & Laine on the ice together. I'll take that chance all day.

Laine would come at the cheapest he'd be in his entire career, he is a pure goal scorer, and he can play the left half-wall on the powerplay, all things we need. He has some downsides, particularly in his defensive play, but if you have him on the top line with Sid, then Sid has the 200 ft. game covered.
He is exactly what the Pens need right now, in my opinion. He would bring some excitement to the team as well, while we're in this rebuild, or retool or whatever it is Dubas has us doing right now. We'd just have to move someone out to make cap space for him.
Are we on his 10-team no-trade list though? If not, Dubas should open the wallet and actually spend some assets to get a legit top-liner.
Unless... Dubas comes out of nowhere with the atomic elbow drop from the top ropes with some unexpected, huge 3-team trade and hits us with a Jarry, Graves, Eller unloading and gets Rossi and Gustavsson. (in my dreams)

What’s also interesting is if we get Laine you can still put DOC on the top line to further cover Laine defensively, and you can move Rust or Rakell to the third line, suddenly our scoring depth isn’t as bad

I think it's almost a necessity to land laine so you actually have a pp specialist because boy does this team need another player not afraid to shoot

I'd like to see the Pens get Nikolai Ehlers but why not just try to swap DOC with Anthony Bouvilleau and try that combo on for size. I think this team might surprise people this year, ya never know. Bottom line is Thank God we STILL have the Penguins to cheer for- look at Arizona.

As cheap as Dubas is looking for all bargain basement players it don’t look like there is gonna be anyone else that’s halfway decent that the Pens will get! I know salary cap is the big issue but hey at least get one player that has good value!!!!
we improved the bottom six...maybe by a lot if Hayes returns to his Flyers level form....we need to grab Laine or Marner imo or make that trade with WPeg

@@KyleFunk21 proven goal scorers are what we need. Not collegiate players with some upside but no guarantees he will pan out. I like the Laine move even if we have to give up a draft pick( he's only 26) if we can dump Graves and Columbus retains a couple mil. That would be a win for Pitt now and possibly down the road since he's still young. We have seen it since Kessel left. We need pure goal scorer. Especially on the PP

They forget so quickly that we're comfortably a playoff team last season with even an average PP & we're so much better dumping total stiffs like Smith, POJ, Nieto, Harkens....great work thus far with who we've gotten rid of
