  • We go through Book 7 (out of 12) of the Brothers Karamazov. This book is called “Alyosha” for a reason since we see him maturing rapidly. The epigraph is here again, telling us that things must die to give new life to other things. And there are sausages, an onion, vodka, sitting on laps, and expelling devils.
This is part of the Brothers Karamazov series where we go through the whole book. First a summary so you know what the book is about, and then an analysis. A deeper analysis of different aspects is found on my blog at www.patrikberg.... For example, seeing the brothers through the lens of Goffman and his masks: www.patrikberg...
I am of course deeply thankful to my forerunners in this subject, such as Victor Terras, Erland Lagerroth, Robin Feuer Miller, Jessica Hooten Wilson, and many others. This is just my interpretation.
