Okay, I get that. Now I wanna know is, if Detective Detective and the Teacher were already conspiring together ever since the "I'm Sorry!" episode? That he wasn't there by accident, and it was planned by DD all along. I mean, this episode made think that.
I come back and rewatch/listen to this series every few months, and every time it just makes me feel old because of how long it's been since the first episode came out. Definitely still one of my more favourite series on the platform due to the nostalgia I still have for the theories of the early episodes.
I just now figured out what exactly Hareka counts as in this situation. There’s the main three possibilities: Principal, Accomplice, Accessory. We know she isn’t the principal from this video. She isn’t the main perpetrator, but she is involved. The main question is... is she an accomplice or an accessory? An accomplice actively participates in the commission of a crime, such as being a getaway driver or a lookout for the principal. She doesn’t sound like she was an active participant, so that leaves: Accessory! She is an accessory because she had knowledge that, through her bringing the bomb in, a crime was going to be committed. She assisted through concealment of the bomb in her belongings as a carrier for the bomb. So yeah! She counts as an accessory :). We’re able to assume that she was blackmailed into this situation though, so we’ll have to wait and see the rest of the story! Can’t wait!! Hehe!!

@@ROBLOXGamingDavid Falsetto isn't usually thought of as "masterful" voicing of female characters. It sounds more like mickey mouse than a real girl. Some girls have deeper voices than some guys. I'm not really sure what makes a good female voice, but I know how to annoy the crap out of people... use a falsetto.

The only time I know that there is a female singer in one of his videos titled "It's Not Like I Like You.", and Amree is the one. That's the single made by these two people, a some sort of collaboration and that would mean that he never does "falsetto" now that he has Amree to sing with him. Add to the fact that the description in that video says Static-P made the music, lyrics, and vocals... So, if not falsetto, then... I'm left confused. (Guess my investigative skills need more learning... Or if I'm right or wrong on that one? I'm just asking... Am I missing something? I'm too fire up that I overlooked something did i?)

I was saying that falsetto's aren't typically thought of as good representations of the female voice. They have different characteristics than your primary octaves, and you can hear it. Notably less breathy. I feel like falsetto's sound too high pitched or squeaky.

I KNEW IT was Hareka! Also, I love how Sherlock Holmes-ian this whole setup is. Both the "Chase someone you know is innocent to make the suspect confess" (Earlier song mentions Detective and Teach are old friends, that's why he was at the idol bombing in the first place) AND the "Someone's running from me... Window three stories up? No problem. (Jumps)" feels SO right for Detective Detective. As soon as I saw Detective "Swinging" with Hareka I knew it was her he was "Chasing" not teach, and it was a setup. So good.
I often think about how each song in the album not only tell part of a larger story, but also give their own broader message: When the Darkness Comes: We all have the potential for darkness, and we must fight against it within ourselves. Detective Detective: Empathy is a superpower. Life Might Take Us: Life can be unexpected. Rather than fear the unknown, we should embrace the adventure. Idol Bombing: Even in the worst of circumstances, grace and perseverance can make things better than revenge and despair. No One's In This Alone: Trusting others is hard, and sometimes dangerous. But the goodness and community that comes from being open is worth the risk. A Reason For Suffering: Life is full of hardship and strife. Our goal should not be to avoid suffering, but to find meaning by striving for something worth suffering for. I'm Sorry: We are all imperfect, and that is okay. In fact, it is good that we are imperfect because "sorry" allows us to experience and practice the virtue of forgiveness. Dream On: Despite how things are now, we should envision a future that is better, and then better ourselves to fight for that future. We should strive to be virtuous, not for our own sake, but for each others'. Clues To A Poor Man's Briefcase: Bonds with others are formed through hardship and sacrifice. Those bonds make life worth living in any circumstances. Bad News: Two visions of the world. Justice, where righteous people should fight to ensure merit is rewarded and evil is punished at all costs. Grace, where virtue is its own reward, and injustice should be met with quiet self-assurance. Your Eyes: Hiding the truth only brings turmoil in the long run. We should be honest and allow others the space to be honest with us. Stay Calm: When conflict or evil springs up, remaining rational and thinking quickly is the best course of action. The Chase: Virtue is an action. When the time comes, swing, baby, swing! (And also, sometimes you have to jump off the third floor of a building and pretend to almost kill someone in order to get your friend to confess they bombed a singing competition under duress from an unknown source.)
I found this whole thing when Spotify one day recommended me Detective Detective. Then one day I decided to check out Criminal Idols and it is the BEST THING EVER, it helps me with tough times and It is a great song to vibe to. Recently I watched the video for this song and it made me laugh how it was a water gun all along. Thank you so much for making these songs and I can’t wait to see season two!
You can't see it, but this episode heavily alludes to Season 3 of Criminal Idol: Criminal Cardboard. The bomber is in The Box!!! Seriously though, this episode definitely raises more questions than it answers, and I am so ready to see how the story evolves from it. VIVA LA CRIMINAL IDOL!!!
I know that there is going to be a whole stream discussing hints about Hareka being the person who set the bomb, but I wanted to reflect on some that I caught in two of the songs: No One's in this Alone and Dream On. I'm not very clever with visual clues, so I am focusing on lyrics. NOITA: In this song we hear some insecurities from Cole on being a part of a team, but we also hear some from Hareka. She seems so cheerful, but also mentions that she too is learning how to trust again. This is probably due to Nori kidnapping her, but also could be related to whoever threatened her family. She trusted Nori, and after he betrayed that trust so hard, it probably left her hurt. I imagine it would also be hard to look her teammates in the eyes afterwards, even though they (probably) didn't suspect her, because she had a pretty big role in SBG's downfall. This song was about Cole being able to let loose and enjoy the girls' company, but it could also be read as Hareka trying to do that too. DREAM ON: I had originally only thought of Hareka's perspective in this song as a reflection of the group. Of staying strong but recognising that what happened to them was a travesty. However, coming back to this song, I feel a different perspective. For starters, the art clearly shows her outside DD's room, listening to the two of them talk. She probably originally wanted to do this because she wanted to see if anyone suspected her. Instead she heard two people who had complete faith in her and her group (or at least sounded like it. It's hard to tell if DD knew it was her at this point). This leads into the line that she sings. On one hand, she's relieved and dreaming about a day when she can forget about this and the guilt leaves. However, the guilt very much is still there. It's clear that she knows what she did was awful, and we know that she didn't want to do it. "It's so hard", once a line I thought of merely as how she felt the situation her SBG were in, now reflects how hard it is to know that she hurt a lot of people physically, mentally, and career wise. The years being tears of guilt and shame for her actions. There could be a couple reasons why she never told anyone before now. Perhaps there was the threat of her family getting hurt if she ever told, or the shame kept her quiet. Those are probably factors, but I bet the main reason is that she didn't want to disappoint her friends. Going back to NOITA, she clearly believes what she says and values her friends and what they think of her. This is just speculation, but I feel like she didn't have a lot of friends as a kid, and saw being an idol as a chance to not be alone and to have deep connections. She desperate to keep the people that she cares about in her life
Good observations. I also had to go back and watch them in chronological order to pick up on more things. We know Hareka planted the bomb, but part of what's been bugging me is who forced her to do it? She mentions her parents. We know from Your Eyes that her parents worked with Nori, who organized the event that was bombed. We know from Bad News that he was working his way into the group of people who were rigging the Idol Competitions. It's speculation on my part, but I think the song Clues to a Poor Man's Briefcase tells us that it is the Mafia in charge of the rigging. Now, we know Nori doesn't like the rigging, and wanted to work with Hareka to bring it down, but I don't think he was the one to blackmail her into doing it. It can definitely seem like it, but I don't think it's the case. I think instead, that he proposed a plan to Hareka and she agreed to it. I think the part we don't know however, is that the Mafia caught on that Mori wasn't all on board with them. Someone saw he met with Hareka, and they contacted her, threatening to do something to her parents if she didn't plant the bomb. Mori shortly after became aware that he was found out, and performed the kidnapping on Hareka to get himself in jail as protection from the Mafia. I think so based on a line he gives to the Detective in Stay Calm, about plans going up in flames, as well as the smirk he gives to Hareka at the end as though he succeeded in what he was trying to do. It's important to note that Stay Calm is sung by Mori.
I just wanted to point this out also: In Idol Bombing, DD said that "One group stood unharmed: the group whose baggage hid the bomb" So Hareka probably brought the other members of Star Blush far away from the bomb because she didnt want to hurt her friends, since she's the only one who knew about the bomb... I just think that's a cool small detail
Just a quick thing I don't know if anyone has said this, but in the idol bombing two idols said they heard a match, and the star blush girls were far away, so yes Haruka did bring in the bomb, but no she wasn't the one who lit it. So....now we gotta find out who lit it and die of anticipation :'D

I love the series and I love how the lyrics of the songs in the series not only fit the story but life in general (no one's in the alone for example). I always listen to the entire series when I'm doing house chores to energize me up

I've been following this since the start and I'm so happy that there will be a season 2. Keep up the good work, your songs inspire me to make arts. They get me through the toughest times ever! Now, I'm going to wait for the next season.

I found this man last may and it was from web comic music videos and now not only is he my favorite artist but I want to make a web comic and base arcs of his songs (criminal idol one and two)
A few years late but here due to Spotify's algorithm, I'd just like to share my theory, which is built on other theories mostly, and a bit of my own interpretation: It all starts at the Charity Event, Nori meets up with Hareka and tells her of the whole rigged system. He presumably hates it, but is powerless against the much more monolithic structure that it represents, so he brews up a plan. He tries to get SBG to the top and, through that, somehow dismantle the system (Bad News). This plan majorly backfires, as the ones who run the system figure Nori out immediately and he has to cover his tracks. He does this by pretending to kidnap Hareka, who is presumably in on the whole affair, and getting himself arrested, where the organizers of the system won't see him as a threat and at the same time knocking blame away from Hareka (Stay Calm). However eventually someone makes the connection that Hareka was connected and forces her to carry the bomb into the Top Idol Competition, leading to the incident that discredits SBG and conveniently silences the only other person outside the system (Idol Bombing/The Chase). Detective Detective makes this connection in Your Eyes and Stay Calm. However SBG don't give up, and slowly trudge through the obstacles set beside them, be it the risk of their club dissolving (Life Might Take Us), a lack of trust (No One's In This Alone) or even dying motivation in face of mounting troubles (A Reason For Suffering). Along this path, due to Kanesaki Hyudou's interference, Detective Detective gets swept up into it and ends up deep into this investigation (No One's in This Alone), presumably the group behind the rigging try to orchestrate a way to discredit him as well, thus creating the kidnapping seen in Detective Detective in an attempt to frame Detective Detective of the bank robbery (Detective Detective). Despite being on their side (as clearly stated in Dream On!), Detective's presence constantly brings SBG's thoughts back to the bombing, so as an apology he takes them to Kanesaki's lakeside property. While there Kanesaki, most likely at Detective's request, brings New Meteor and Aka Sensei there as well, presumably so Detective can learn about their side of the story in the bombing (I'm Sorry!) After overhearing a heart-to-heart that Cole has with Detective (Dream On!), Hareka decides to tell more about what she knows, revealing Nori's involvement but still hiding crucial details from Detective due to the fear of what might happen to her, or maybe even Nori, should she overshare. Despite this, Detective still puts the pieces she left out together. (Bad News/Your Eyes). Due to this, Detective goes to have a talk with Nori, who knowing what he knows, dances around Detective's questions while still hinting at answers, such as suggesting the idol bombing was out of his control and most likely staged by his enemies. Presumably Nori is trying to keep heat away from himself despite still being in jail, while giving enough for Detective to work with so he can build a slow case against the structure Nori despises (Stay Calm). Armed with this information, Detective sets a trap for Hareka. He sets up a meeting with her in the clubroom and has Kanesaki walk in and run off, making him look like the culprit. Using Kanesaki as bait and his (fake) gun as a threat, Detective forces a confession out of Haruka whose guilt had finally grown to be unbearable. (The Chase) As far as I know, based on my and other's interpretations, this is the state of Criminal Idol as of the end of S1, thank you very much, Spotify algorithm, for showing me this beautiful series!

You might not read this but these songs are the best things ill ever hear. I have been though many many things and I cried myself to sleep and listen to depressing music and tell myself horrible things but now I sing/dance myself to sleep and I listen to these and now I tell myself that if I listen to static-p I'm one of the best people alive (not to have an ego btw) and I hope that everything you ever want happens to you. I used to think I horrible and now I don't think of myself any worse than anyone else. I'm just so so so happy and I hope that you get anything you want

I think deep down, she doesn't want anyone hurt. She did what she had to do to keep her family safe. She saw giving herself in as the only way to stop more people being hurt, and Detective must have realised that that would be the easiest way to make her admit
The first thing I thought of was no, there's no way it was the teacher... WAIT! So it was Hareka! Clues to a poor man's briefcase pointed me to her or Morime, as they both may hold a childhood friends kind of relationship maybe Morime brought Hareka into this and she's been trying to cover for Morime. Though going back to CtaPMB's lyrics, it makes sense as Hareka being the bad child to the father that works with the mafia though being a good person that's just tied up and wants to push forward to get his child out of the mess.

From those preview pics I never really understood how the teacher could be a culprit, since he's a friend of Detective Detective and they were together when the bombing happened. Now it all clicks and makes sense, they are still the same friends and they made plans together to get a confession out of Hareka. I'd love to see more of this friendship between the two of them, so good.
Dream on has always been my favorite but this one beat it. I love the feeling I get from this song, it's so fun to sing along. I absolutely love in the beginning how it's just "The Chase". I feel like... since dd and teach set the whole chase up, they really could've done it all without the whole jumping out a 3 story window bit. Man, dd sure likes unnecessary risks.
Ah but jumping out the window gave him time to realistically ring H and give her time to worry and feel the guilt of what she was about to cause, as well as let her clearly see the “gun”. Chasing inside wouldn’t have given her the visual terror of DD about to kill T to break her into confession.
This became an easy favorite from hearing the chorus alone, but finding all the little details and paying more attention to the lyrics show how much love was put into this, plus the art is just always getting better and better, and this showcases that splendidly. Fantastic job once again!
i just got into the criminal idol series mood today after a while of observing it. and now im watching all of the episodes and thinking who the bomber/bombers is/are.
I listened to this twice on the livestream, but I still can't help but get excited every time this plays. I had been following this series since after I'm Sorry's release, around late 2016 (found this channel from "It's Not Like I Like You!!" collab with Amree) and I have grown so attached to this series. I love all the songs so much, not to mention how it comes together as a story. It was so fun to follow this series, and I'm so sad to see Season 1 come to a close. This song is a great way to end it, I absolutely love it. I know there's a Season 2 and all, but I am still so sad 😭. I would often listen to the entire Criminal Idol series when I was feeling down, or when I had trouble sleeping, etc. It helped me a lot. Thank you so much for making the music that you do.

I found this whole thing when Spotify one day recommended me Detective Detective. Then one day I decided to check out Criminal Idols and it is the BEST THING EVER, it helps me with tough times and It is a great song to vibe to.

Seriously though, this episode definitely raises more questions than it answers, and I am so ready to see how the story evolves from it. VIVA LA CRIMINAL IDOL!!!
I know that there is going to be a whole stream discussing hints about Hareka being the person who set the bomb, but I wanted to reflect on some that I caught in two of the songs: No One's in this Alone and Dream On. I'm not very clever with visual clues, so I am focusing on lyrics.
NOITA: In this song we hear some insecurities from Cole on being a part of a team, but we also hear some from Hareka. She seems so cheerful, but also mentions that she too is learning how to trust again. This is probably due to Nori kidnapping her, but also could be related to whoever threatened her family. She trusted Nori, and after he betrayed that trust so hard, it probably left her hurt. I imagine it would also be hard to look her teammates in the eyes afterwards, even though they (probably) didn't suspect her, because she had a pretty big role in SBG's downfall. This song was about Cole being able to let loose and enjoy the girls' company, but it could also be read as Hareka trying to do that too.
DREAM ON: I had originally only thought of Hareka's perspective in this song as a reflection of the group. Of staying strong but recognising that what happened to them was a travesty. However, coming back to this song, I feel a different perspective. For starters, the art clearly shows her outside DD's room, listening to the two of them talk. She probably originally wanted to do this because she wanted to see if anyone suspected her. Instead she heard two people who had complete faith in her and her group (or at least sounded like it. It's hard to tell if DD knew it was her at this point). This leads into the line that she sings. On one hand, she's relieved and dreaming about a day when she can forget about this and the guilt leaves. However, the guilt very much is still there. It's clear that she knows what she did was awful, and we know that she didn't want to do it. "It's so hard", once a line I thought of merely as how she felt the situation her SBG were in, now reflects how hard it is to know that she hurt a lot of people physically, mentally, and career wise. The years being tears of guilt and shame for her actions. There could be a couple reasons why she never told anyone before now. Perhaps there was the threat of her family getting hurt if she ever told, or the shame kept her quiet. Those are probably factors, but I bet the main reason is that she didn't want to disappoint her friends. Going back to NOITA, she clearly believes what she says and values her friends and what they think of her. This is just speculation, but I feel like she didn't have a lot of friends as a kid, and saw being an idol as a chance to not be alone and to have deep connections. She desperate to keep the people that she cares about in her life
Good observations.
I also had to go back and watch them in chronological order to pick up on more things. We know Hareka planted the bomb, but part of what's been bugging me is who forced her to do it? She mentions her parents. We know from Your Eyes that her parents worked with Nori, who organized the event that was bombed. We know from Bad News that he was working his way into the group of people who were rigging the Idol Competitions. It's speculation on my part, but I think the song Clues to a Poor Man's Briefcase tells us that it is the Mafia in charge of the rigging.
Now, we know Nori doesn't like the rigging, and wanted to work with Hareka to bring it down, but I don't think he was the one to blackmail her into doing it. It can definitely seem like it, but I don't think it's the case. I think instead, that he proposed a plan to Hareka and she agreed to it. I think the part we don't know however, is that the Mafia caught on that Mori wasn't all on board with them. Someone saw he met with Hareka, and they contacted her, threatening to do something to her parents if she didn't plant the bomb. Mori shortly after became aware that he was found out, and performed the kidnapping on Hareka to get himself in jail as protection from the Mafia. I think so based on a line he gives to the Detective in Stay Calm, about plans going up in flames, as well as the smirk he gives to Hareka at the end as though he succeeded in what he was trying to do. It's important to note that Stay Calm is sung by Mori.
I just wanted to point this out also:
In Idol Bombing, DD said that "One group stood unharmed: the group whose baggage hid the bomb"
So Hareka probably brought the other members of Star Blush far away from the bomb because she didnt want to hurt her friends, since she's the only one who knew about the bomb... I just think that's a cool small detail

Just a quick thing I don't know if anyone has said this, but in the idol bombing two idols said they heard a match, and the star blush girls were far away, so yes Haruka did bring in the bomb, but no she wasn't the one who lit it.
So....now we gotta find out who lit it and die of anticipation :'D

I love the series and I love how the lyrics of the songs in the series not only fit the story but life in general (no one's in the alone for example). I always listen to the entire series when I'm doing house chores to energize me up

I found this man last may and it was from web comic music videos and now not only is he my favorite artist but I want to make a web comic and base arcs of his songs (criminal idol one and two)
The design at 2:57 is literally insane. You can feel the teachers eyes piercing through hareka and his smug look makes it so much better.

A few years late but here due to Spotify's algorithm, I'd just like to share my theory, which is built on other theories mostly, and a bit of my own interpretation:
It all starts at the Charity Event, Nori meets up with Hareka and tells her of the whole rigged system. He presumably hates it, but is powerless against the much more monolithic structure that it represents, so he brews up a plan. He tries to get SBG to the top and, through that, somehow dismantle the system (Bad News).
This plan majorly backfires, as the ones who run the system figure Nori out immediately and he has to cover his tracks. He does this by pretending to kidnap Hareka, who is presumably in on the whole affair, and getting himself arrested, where the organizers of the system won't see him as a threat and at the same time knocking blame away from Hareka (Stay Calm).
However eventually someone makes the connection that Hareka was connected and forces her to carry the bomb into the Top Idol Competition, leading to the incident that discredits SBG and conveniently silences the only other person outside the system (Idol Bombing/The Chase). Detective Detective makes this connection in Your Eyes and Stay Calm.
However SBG don't give up, and slowly trudge through the obstacles set beside them, be it the risk of their club dissolving (Life Might Take Us), a lack of trust (No One's In This Alone) or even dying motivation in face of mounting troubles (A Reason For Suffering). Along this path, due to Kanesaki Hyudou's interference, Detective Detective gets swept up into it and ends up deep into this investigation (No One's in This Alone), presumably the group behind the rigging try to orchestrate a way to discredit him as well, thus creating the kidnapping seen in Detective Detective in an attempt to frame Detective Detective of the bank robbery (Detective Detective).
Despite being on their side (as clearly stated in Dream On!), Detective's presence constantly brings SBG's thoughts back to the bombing, so as an apology he takes them to Kanesaki's lakeside property. While there Kanesaki, most likely at Detective's request, brings New Meteor and Aka Sensei there as well, presumably so Detective can learn about their side of the story in the bombing (I'm Sorry!)
After overhearing a heart-to-heart that Cole has with Detective (Dream On!), Hareka decides to tell more about what she knows, revealing Nori's involvement but still hiding crucial details from Detective due to the fear of what might happen to her, or maybe even Nori, should she overshare. Despite this, Detective still puts the pieces she left out together. (Bad News/Your Eyes).
Due to this, Detective goes to have a talk with Nori, who knowing what he knows, dances around Detective's questions while still hinting at answers, such as suggesting the idol bombing was out of his control and most likely staged by his enemies. Presumably Nori is trying to keep heat away from himself despite still being in jail, while giving enough for Detective to work with so he can build a slow case against the structure Nori despises (Stay Calm).
Armed with this information, Detective sets a trap for Hareka. He sets up a meeting with her in the clubroom and has Kanesaki walk in and run off, making him look like the culprit. Using Kanesaki as bait and his (fake) gun as a threat, Detective forces a confession out of Haruka whose guilt had finally grown to be unbearable. (The Chase)
As far as I know, based on my and other's interpretations, this is the state of Criminal Idol as of the end of S1, thank you very much, Spotify algorithm, for showing me this beautiful series!

So, was this whole thing planned by DD and the teacher as a way to make the bomber confess? Make it so he was a red herring to the audience, but also to her?
She must be concerned for his well-being but she is blackmailed.
I think deep down, she doesn't want anyone hurt. She did what she had to do to keep her family safe. She saw giving herself in as the only way to stop more people being hurt, and Detective must have realised that that would be the easiest way to make her admit
The first thing I thought of was no, there's no way it was the teacher... WAIT! So it was Hareka! Clues to a poor man's briefcase pointed me to her or Morime, as they both may hold a childhood friends kind of relationship maybe Morime brought Hareka into this and she's been trying to cover for Morime.
Though going back to CtaPMB's lyrics, it makes sense as Hareka being the bad child to the father that works with the mafia though being a good person that's just tied up and wants to push forward to get his child out of the mess.
The way he subtly says "The chase" at the beginning...and the shots of Detective Detective from the moment he looks up at Hareka are nice!

From those preview pics I never really understood how the teacher could be a culprit, since he's a friend of Detective Detective and they were together when the bombing happened. Now it all clicks and makes sense, they are still the same friends and they made plans together to get a confession out of Hareka.
I'd love to see more of this friendship between the two of them, so good.

I listened to this twice on the livestream, but I still can't help but get excited every time this plays.
I had been following this series since after I'm Sorry's release, around late 2016 (found this channel from "It's Not Like I Like You!!" collab with Amree) and I have grown so attached to this series. I love all the songs so much, not to mention how it comes together as a story. It was so fun to follow this series, and I'm so sad to see Season 1 come to a close. This song is a great way to end it, I absolutely love it. I know there's a Season 2 and all, but I am still so sad 😭. I would often listen to the entire Criminal Idol series when I was feeling down, or when I had trouble sleeping, etc. It helped me a lot. Thank you so much for making the music that you do.
