A really nice car and cheap considering how much it would have cost in 2011 . You can get some good cars that have been snatched back by finance companies, they just want some of their money back . Excellent video as always Lee
Make sure you regularly regen the diesels, especially if you do short journeys. When our 3 litre twin turbo snapped its crankshaft at 25mph outside Aldi it was a bit of a shock. So was the £16k for a new engine! Car had done about 97k miles. Bit of digging about and research showed this diesel engine design was a clone of a Peugeot design from the '80s or before. At that time I was working for a company that ran 605 diesels and they were forever going pop. ( No they weren't taxis but cars for directors and senior managers) Bearing in mind this poor pedigree, what were JLR thinking of?
Good video Lee. Lovely cars, the old Jags and well worth the low money…..having said that, my Jags have always been ‘ Classic’….different story of course! Keep it up mate.
Nice motors the Xf, I've got the XF-S. Just had the inlet manifolds done on mine. If yours is an early 08 or 09 reg check all 4 doors in the middle of the paint for micro blisters, a lot of them are coroding from the inside out due to sound deadening getting damp and rotting the doors from the inside.
Great video. I have the black 60 reg Jag 3.0 TD. Just had a big ouch as the fancy gear knob was stuck up and stuck in D. The garage I use had to collect and removed the gear selector unit . It was sent to a company in Cambridge repaired and refitted. Not cheap and it is a common fault on the jags (check internet). The other issue is rear drive shaft and hub assembly bonded together. Needs at least a 20 tonne press to separate, any less say goodbye to the press. Other than that beautiful cars to drive. Buckets of power and torque.
Nice car. Worth the price paid. Glad to hear your going to show your own Jaguar XF. Also when are we going to see the video on your own Maserati which you mentioned some while ago?
Could be loads of electronics are still in drivers footwell where they get soaked by rainwater issues from doors, sills and especially bulkhead. Also wiring loom going through boot gets worn. Expensive business when it goes wrong and unless you know anything about cars, can be an absolute money pit.
A lot of people have finance to buy second hand cars. I got a load of money back from a car finance company through a PPI claim. They were some of the worst culprits.
I’ve seen a couple of Maseratis on his lot, a Granturismo and a Ghibli I think, you never get to see much, absolutely beautiful cars, if you know what your doing they’re amazing and reliable. Thumbs up to this dealer for having taste 👍
Because the brand is owned by TATA, from the Indian junk yard if they can find a cheaper part they will put it on the car, engines are failing in Australia, at least when Ford had thebrand they were relatively reliable.
could always be a finance rejection, i rejected my xc90 to the finance company. car wanted a lot of repairs and the garage closed the day after i got it, finance co took it back, refunded me all my payments plus the deposit and sold the car at auction.
when I was a lad you could buy a "Morse" Mk 2 Jag for a grand ....................................... it would financially ruin you and take all the welding before you gave up and scrapped it but that was the early 80's. Interestingly my uncle had a FIAT 500 Vignale Gamine he was going to restore - never did and he passed - look them up imagine what money it would make nowadays
That Jag looked smart, my neighbour has had 2 and loved them but both developed water ingress from the scuttle/windscreen area so now he has a BMW. Cheers K.
I have known a few friends with these and one guy had from new an 09 and it’s had 2 gearboxes and the auto selector wouldn’t rise. Now done 250k and no other faults. Still other car that is as comfortable and beautiful ride quality. Others have had a plethora of faults and one even scrapped due to uneconomical repair. I’d love one e of these but scared to own. My friend with the 09 also bought himself an older petrol xjr as his retirement present. I ve been in both and I prefer the diesel as an every day driver. Oozes power, comfort and class
They are hardly an everyday occurrence. I know 4 long term owners of the 3.0d in all its guises. Never had a hint of mechanical trouble with any of them. You get the odd electrical niggle but that's about it if serviced under schedule -the key with any modern car.
Beautiful car, unreal really that two and half bags gets you all that luxury, obviously fingers will be crossed it's not hiding any nasties, cos these can take over your wallet, but looks fine to me.
Rare thing, a finance company doing business on a car that's well over 10 years old - - - - - also football on Sunday??? Who's playing (what, too sarcastic????)???? Been on the telly non bleedin stop, even here in Scotland (which is draped in Spanish flags)
I had a newish XKR some 15 years ago. It was a stupendous looking car, fragile, uncomfortable on long journeys, expensive to run and not very precise when driving. Summed up, Jaguar, great design, over expensive (to buy and run) and that’s it. There are worse cars, but many far, far better.
Imagine how much that cost new? These are not the best cars. Cost an absolute fortune to repair. Those electric vents are very problematic. Nice cheap car….for a reason
I own an XF 2.7 litre twin turbo diesel. Absolutely the worst car purchase I have ever made. Electrics are absolute rubbish and I pray to any and all gods that nothing goes wrong with the shitty transmission. Never again will I buy European shite! Nippon all the way from now on.
Total rubbish. They do last unless your idea of servicing is once every 4 years and yes plenty of those people about. Never seen a bad one on the road in the UK ever.
@@Seolfor007 Had two as company cars - not my choice , serviced on the button - let down by stupid little faults indicative of POOR BUILD QUALITY - you are talking out of your hat - look at consumer and trade feedback on all JLR products.
With the greatest of respect, if you're going to make unpleasant, unnecessary remarks and criticise the way he speaks, I'd suggest you take some spelling/English lessons first. To and too are different words with different meanings. Perhaps you have to rely on a spell checker that lets you down occasionally.
It's because of ULEZ and other cities introducing charges for older diesels.
Had the Jag xj 2012 portfolio, absolutely stunning to drive had it 2 yrs never missed a beat
glad to hear auction vids coming back

That's a beautiful car and well worth the money, it's got a great MOT history on it, seems to have been well looked after.

What a brilliant looking car.
Love seeing how things are done unreal money could these alday long . Great
Trouble with older diesel is not ulez compliant, and most major citys have that now.
dont go there its simple park outside and catch public transport
@josephberrie9550 the zone is not just London it goes right out to the m25
@josephberrie9550 therefore you could get caught in it and not know, until you get a big fine through for not paying.

0:22 there's your answer there, the poor Peugeot diesel enging, bottom end go bang.
Is that 3.0litre crank snapper?
it is indeed 😁👍
Big cars cost an arm and a leg for parts and repairs. Beautiful cars but it’s like having an expensive mistress.
Hobbies tend to cost money, so do cars;)
My god an auctioneer who you can actually hear and understand what he's saying. A rare find indeed.
At that price i'd have chanced it,clean car and decent milage for its age.
Am amazed someone has finance on a 2011 jag

They’re just a huge liability. I had one, such a gorgeous machine but the fear of it going wrong is always there
Theres also the fear of walking under a bus.
Best to get on with life and not worry about what ifs
But did anything go wrong?
Trouble car isn't worth much but cost of spares and repairs are relative to when new
Good reliable engine and gearbox. Go for it
Pig to work on.
People probably terrified of maintenance, running cost, and reliability
Because the brand is owned by TATA, from the Indian junk yard if they can find a cheaper part they will put it on the car, engines are failing in Australia, at least when Ford had thebrand they were relatively reliable.
I think JLR is 50/50 Tata and a Chinese firm, is it Cherry? 🤔Might be Geely.
We want to see your jaguar
gee in Australia this would be a minimum of $7500 (GPB 3900) but more likely around $12000 (GBP6200) or one in this condition.
could always be a finance rejection, i rejected my xc90 to the finance company. car wanted a lot of repairs and the garage closed the day after i got it, finance co took it back, refunded me all my payments plus the deposit and sold the car at auction.
Does the Jag have the crank issues that the Disco has?
Yes but not as common.
Monday gud with me 👍
Nice one Lee ,
I thought u might have got me int video walking back from that black A1 Audi 😊
But you only put in the Jag 😂
Jeez…..I traded in my ‘12 XF last year at BMW…..£6500………can’t believe prices I’m seeing….

Yeah, spot on with that Jag....even the price is about right.
Lee are range rovers still cheap I have not followed the auction prices for 3 months
the decline in price seems to have halted a little
There a lovely motor ❤
2 keys! Where was it hidden, what was the purity like?
Off the chart paul 👍
TATA’s finest.
Are you selling the black one Lee?
No I will not be retailing it on the pitch
Is it because it was made by Jaguar?
Where's the content that was for told, you busy watching the footie Lee, and forgot about us 😅😂?
Yes I was 😁anyhow new full auction video has landed 👍
Spain vs England
Don’t know what this has got to do with a jag xf but COME ON ENGLAND!!! 🏴

These are struggling to get £2500 privately, classified littered with them around £2k

The engine is worth £3000 alone.
Jesus! a clean usable XJ40 would cost more!
A lot more reliable than these newer jags
👍👍
3250
Because jags and range rovers are not too dependable. The 3.0 diesel is well known for snapping cranks.

Aren’t the cranks in the Land Rovers more ‘snappy’ as they’re under a bigger load stress, or do the 3.0 Jag diesels also have the same bad reputation?
I was k out 😂
