This helps the fluidfilm last a longer time. I think this is the best coating for a car. Last a long time and will not turn rocksolid.
@pete smyth Gramps taught me to use bar and chain oil. It's thick, it sticks, it's cheap and readily available. Drive on dusty road after. I have an 85 ford ranger that looks better than my neighbors 5 year old Tacoma. We're in the Northeast. Use a rag to cover places you don't want to spray it, like bushings, boots exhaust. Spray it on once a year for the first two years, then every third year. Best to do it in warm weather because it's so thick. An added bonus, if you've got chipmunk or mice that like to store acorns in your vehicle they hate it. You'll never see a nest again.

So I'm commenting before I finish watching with a couple tips. Get a suction gun, like a giant syringe, to transfer the stuff into your spray gun. Also, for those Dodge beds, pull the tail lights and spray up into the bed side. Pay close attention to cleaning and spraying out the nooks and crannies above the rear wheels. Fluid film is great stuff!
Mustie1 has a couple of pretty good videos about undercoating. He uses bar & chain oil, which is an alternative. When I restore old cars, I get rid of surface rust using phosphoric acid (Jasco at big box stores) then neutralize it. Works really well and keeps it at bay under any temporary or permanent coatings. Luckily, I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast, so I no longer have to deal with salt on the roads, but man is that stuff an epidemic.... From what I see out here, it's not really necessary, we seem to do just fine without it, even in the Sierras, which got ~30ft of snow last year.
Bill Smith most times it works and gets the job done. He’s all about efficiency and doing a thorough job. I like his style. Not always beautiful but very efficient and effective
Bill Smith buddy thanks for coming out and giving his page the view , but not you life not your shit to worry about, imagine being so toxic like yourself i couldn’t handle it I’d kms
One suggestion for Fluid Film.... The 360 spray tube inside frame holes and crevices, but use a rag dipped in the fluid film and wipe on the frame etc. That way it goes on even and you can keep it away from the brakes, exhaust and other areas you don't want it. NO waste and doesn't get all over you and shop floor. I am using on my Toyota truck due to frames rusting.
Cleaning your equipment is called "Industrial Hygiene". That's when you get a good look at everything and notice anything that is not right. That's part of the reason why they keep everything so clean in the Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines. ...."When in doubt, CLEAN IT!" Also, if you purchase used equipment, it's a good idea to clean it reallly well and lubricate EVERYTHING! As well as changing/flushing all fluids. As stated before: you should notice most discrepancies while cleaning. I don't need to tell you about painting ....you are already on top of that. Great videos....dog is awesome!
I just used that stuff for the first time this year as well. I heard places do it for like 200 bucks for a vehicle here, but just decided to do it myself. Doesn't take long and is only about 20-30 bucks a year if you buy the big tub.
That's great, but some folks don't have the proper equipment, tools, lift, etc. to do it themselves. But even if you have to pay to have it done, it's well worth the money.
Another Great Video Andrew. In the Summer Time to help reduce and/or make it easier to clean, Spray Baby Oil in and around areas that dirt&mud builds up its and old 4x4 trick makes cleaning 100 Times easier. I live in Canada Alberta where we get our share of Snow/Ice as my City uses Sand/Salt on the Roads, Next Summer I'm Totally going to do as Andrew did and Spray Film the underbodies of my Cars.
Andrew you are one maintenance wise young man. I am 88 years old and dedicated follower of yours. Do the world a favor. get married and teach your children to be business managers just like father. Great tallent should never die away
Andrew: This coming summer you should POR-15 your frame and metal surfaces under your vehicles. It is awesome. Only setback is that it doesn't have any UV protection, so areas that are exposed to direct sunlight should be painted over the POR-15
What I love is that it's work equipment/vehicles and he treats them as such. Some practical maintenance and don't worry about little scuffs too much. I wonder though. Shouldn't you get rid of the rust first, before covering it up again? I've always been taught that you might as well not cover it if there's still some on there, that it actually worsens it, cause it's "trapped". Unless the stuff you used takes care of oxidation?
You should try and hit those “surface rust” areas with a rust converter before undercoating. It chemically converts rust to stop the progression of the rust. It also converts to a primed surface ready for top coating. Painting or undercoating over live rust still allows the rust to continue spreading. Just an FYI from a metallurgist! Love your videos and can do attitude, keep up the hard work! Can’t wait for the building videos!
Phosphoric acid only etches the exterior metal surface it does not convert/kill the rust. Therefore the underlying rust can still continue to due it’s nasty stuff!
Getting your sub count in views within 24 hours on every single video no matter the subject is something that's almost unheard of on TH-cam now. Some TH-camrs MIGHT get 50% every video. AC is truly something else.
Sorry I disagree. I think to only have 382 thousand viewers is low for his content. I'm sorry I am firm on this decision. I don't see the viewers climb much at all.

Andrew! For undercoating my vehicles, I use the used oil from my oil changes. It works excellent. I love it because I don't have to buy anything. I'm not sure how much that oil film you use costs but I suggest giving used oil a try. It works wonders for me and where I live and they pour the salt on the roads!
Be careful...Fluid Film isn't petroleum based, so it's safe to spray on everything (including rubber), oil might start to eat anything rubber underneath...something to keep an eye on.
I bet there's a lot of rust under those aftermarket fender flares. A lot of guys with put those on right before they sell the truck to cover the rust up. Dodge never offered factory flares for that truck so they are definitely aftermarket. I had a 2005 that I bought new, even those Ram Daytona's with the wing on the back and the stupid ground kit didn't come with fender flares.
Same here on my 05 Cummins. Make sure you check that they're still attached mine rusted through and went flying down the road good thing no one was behind me. I don't know why people put them on unless you have wider tires on they just look like crap. Least that's what I think
@@Klldozr People put them on to cover the rust so they can get an inspection sticker. Any older stock truck without a lift or bigger tires you know there on there just to hide rust.
Hey Andrew, just FYI but a bed liner spray gun works great for spraying the fluid film. I didn't even bother pouring it into the containers, I took a vinyl hose, stuck it on the end of the pipe that sticks down into the container of paint and then just stick that in the bucket of fluid film. It'll suck it straight out of the bucket and the bed liner spray gun puts it on a lot thicker so you don't have to do multiple passes.
Good piece of kit to have. You can get it from Supercheap Auto. Just wait for the xmas sales to start. www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/toolpro-toolpro-pressure-washer-attachment---turbo-nozzle/370466.html

Mines 3500psi, 4.0gpm, cost me a pretty penny but so handy to have a hot power washer for my diggers and trucks it looks pretty similar to Andrews but maybe a bit higher quality
In Michigan. Same... However. When I buy a car. I take all the wheel well covers off. Power wash the undercarriage and coat all the welds and seams with a rust converter or Acid Etched Primer. Then I coat with no less than 12 btls of the shittyest cheapest asphalt undercoating I can buy, usually permitex. I put on layers unitil I am out. Up above the muffler, all along the rear tire tub. all of it. Let it dry overnight and put all the shrouds back on. Makes the car quieter... and no rust... I have tried bed liner but after exposure to heat it peals off. I only use fluid film on the engine bay and bits there about. it will eventually wash off in high spray areas Andy. You may need to recoat fluid film in about 3 months.
Fluid film cost but it does work! I've seen a test against about 10 other products and the fluid film came out the best! It soaks into the steel and stops the rust! The lift really helps! I pop all the plastic plugs at the doors/rocker panel etc. and spray the insides of everything! If there is no plugs drill hole then plug! They are cheap!

It’s always good seeing your Dad!!
Andrew: I was trying to get this on its side but........
This also works.
While trailer is upside down balancing on the ramps and spare wheel 😂
Yet another half ass move by AC let's hurry up and break stuff.
Seems a lot easier to replace brake lines in that configuration too.
Bill Smith
most times it works and gets the job done. He’s all about efficiency and doing a thorough job. I like his style. Not always beautiful but very efficient and effective
Very efficient and effective.
I’ve been using fluid film on my 1985 plow truck for years - works great
You’ve got to fight the rust !
@pete smyth nope - I spray it out in my gravel parking area . I don’t think it’s gotten in my lungs - it sprays on pretty thick
$100US in Canada for a Full Size Pick-Up
@@Fixin-To Do they coat it with maple syrup tho instead of fluid film?
20-30 bucks? 5 gallon pail is over 100 bucks.
Gallon will do one vehicle.
Great video. Not going to try that on my vehicles. The setbacks would take me weeks to recover from! LOL! Thanks for sharing!
When I know I've got a paint job coming up, I put the paint in my pickup and ride it around for a couple weeks. Easy mixing.
My heart rate went through the roof when u picked the suv up!!!
i wonder how it worked after spraying it on the disk brakes ???
Andrew you are one maintenance wise young man. I am 88 years old and dedicated follower of yours. Do the world a favor. get married and teach your children to be business managers just like father. Great tallent should never die away
ive been subbed since june and ive loved every minute of it man, we love ya
I come here to watch Adam learn all the lessons I learned in pretty much the same fashion. He'll be a wise old man with many stories to tell!
Typical Andrew: "I'm gonna replace that, they should have done it like that in the factory"
@@Whisper0ak And if a machine breaks down after the service period, they earn more from it..
Nice cameo by your dad! You constantly bring attention to the subject but it's amazing that steel brake lines are legal..
I love Andrew most people if they ripped the brakes like that would have been so mad. Andrew is just like “I upgraded the brakes!”
It was oddly satisfying to see you mix that fluid film up.
Having the trailer roll over and play dead was the best! Ha ha...! “I wanted it on it’s side but this also works!” Ha ha
Andrew: This coming summer you should POR-15 your frame and metal surfaces under your vehicles. It is awesome. Only setback is that it doesn't have any UV protection, so areas that are exposed to direct sunlight should be painted over the POR-15
Levi knows when things are gonna get rowdy and hauls tail
What I love is that it's work equipment/vehicles and he treats them as such. Some practical maintenance and don't worry about little scuffs too much.
I wonder though. Shouldn't you get rid of the rust first, before covering it up again? I've always been taught that you might as well not cover it if there's still some on there, that it actually worsens it, cause it's "trapped". Unless the stuff you used takes care of oxidation?
Andrew: *jumps on trampoline at the top of his castle*

Well if he falls, that problems pretty much over instantly, but being deaf and blind lasts forever
then says fuck it to a respirator while spraying undercoating lol
@@blee0518 yeah I was going to say... you dont want to be breathing that stuff in...
chiggymonkey Fluor film is like a food grade grease. Not harmful to breath
@@bentrimble2167 yeah, might not kill you but i still don't want to breath it.
Fluid Film for life! They also make Woolwax with a black tint! Best stuff around and safe for the environment! Good job!
I knew you were going to flip the trailer. I didn't know it would go so well
You should try and hit those “surface rust” areas with a rust converter before undercoating. It chemically converts rust to stop the progression of the rust. It also converts to a primed surface ready for top coating. Painting or undercoating over live rust still allows the rust to continue spreading. Just an FYI from a metallurgist! Love your videos and can do attitude, keep up the hard work! Can’t wait for the building videos!
www.homedepot.com/p/Miracle-Sealants-128-oz-Fast-Acting-Phosphoric-Acid-Cleaner-PHOS-GAL-SG/100672863
Phosphoric acid only etches the exterior metal surface it does not convert/kill the rust. Therefore the underlying rust can still continue to due it’s nasty stuff!
I started a quiz in my class. forgot about it when I saw this video on youtube. I almost didn't finish the test in time.
It must be nice having all that equipment! Living my dream! With that nice workshop
The rate of increase in followers is amazing.
Getting your sub count in views within 24 hours on every single video no matter the subject is something that's almost unheard of on TH-cam now. Some TH-camrs MIGHT get 50% every video. AC is truly something else.
iHitchiti I would say Andrew has a stellar watch time as well. I’m sure that helps his channel a lot. I know I watch every video to the end.

@@pauliegualtieri4314 thank you, I will definitely keep that in mind!
Coffee, Andrew and Levi. What a saturday morning!
I think his motto is " Adapt and overcome ". Another great video.
I put hex head sheet metal screws in my fender flares to hold them on, the metal was rusted out under them. 1995 Dakota--gone now.
@@Klldozr is that a rusted bottom corner of the passenger side truck door?
@@stevensaxon8888 what do you mean?
Hey Andrew, just FYI but a bed liner spray gun works great for spraying the fluid film. I didn't even bother pouring it into the containers, I took a vinyl hose, stuck it on the end of the pipe that sticks down into the container of paint and then just stick that in the bucket of fluid film. It'll suck it straight out of the bucket and the bed liner spray gun puts it on a lot thicker so you don't have to do multiple passes.
Always wanted a mini follow up on that water pressure washer. I remember watching that video where you just bought it and it kept breaking :)
He fixed it and the company owner even sent him some free accessories after he saw that video as well.
@@hippo-potamus That was smart. I wonder if sales picked up?
We use Fluid Film at work for all the trucks, we cut it 50/50 with cooking oil, it helps it stick better and makes it spray better out of a gun.
I need to get me one of those turbo nozzles for my powerwasher!
Good piece of kit to have. You can get it from Supercheap Auto. Just wait for the xmas sales to start. www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/toolpro-toolpro-pressure-washer-attachment---turbo-nozzle/370466.html
Please make sure you get the right orifice size before ordering one. Seen way too many companies just buy whatever dirt blaster. Karcher makes the best. If you’re not sure your size message back your psi and gpm.
I've heard there is a minimum pressure requirement for them to work properly. Might want to check that out. Looks like they work great.
I need a power washer like that
Mines 3500psi, 4.0gpm, cost me a pretty penny but so handy to have a hot power washer for my diggers and trucks it looks pretty similar to Andrews but maybe a bit higher quality

The good news is, now a 20ft diameter circle from where you mixed the undercoating is now also undercoated 😂 I love this guys get it done way of life.
Looked like a big bucket of caramel when you opened it, lol.
I was thinking super creamy peanut butter!
Butterscotch pudding... memories 😂
The stuff works well
Such a light coat works?
what is it
Im glad you chose to use the honey goo stuff. The black thick box liner/rubberized stuff will just cause more corrosion.
Hey andrew , hows it going with the new addition on the roof, can't wait to see videos of that!
Anyone else looking for welding progress on the castle? Looking good Andrew! :)
I love fluid film! Been using it for almost 10 years now on my truck. Keeps is absolutely trust free!
You must have watched "SMA". Fluid Film is great stuff.
Well there's your problem lady!
love fluid film have undercoated all my vehicles for a few years now. slows the rust down for sure
Goodmorning again from the Netherlands!

Moguh ik ook
Fluid film cost but it does work! I've seen a test against about 10 other products and the fluid film came out the best! It soaks into the steel and stops the rust! The lift really helps! I pop all the plastic plugs at the doors/rocker panel etc. and spray the insides of everything! If there is no plugs drill hole then plug! They are cheap!
