And 10 years later, people are still benefitting from this video. I chose to fold a roll of half sheet paper towels and add jojoba oil, rather than baby oil, but I wouldn't have even known where to begin if it weren't for this video. Thanks a ton!
if i ever have a second baby I will make my own baby wipes always. this is so easy peasy and it saves SOOOOO MUCH MONEY!!!!! I wish I knew this 6 years ago!!!! before my only child was born!
Thanks for the reminder. I use to make Baby Wipes Before they were invented! Man, I could have been a Millionaire! I eyeballed everything ingredients so I found your video and there were the same ingredients I use to use! I was only shy about 1/2 of a teaspoon! I added Witch hazel you can also use Chamomile. The Witch hazel is Great for those with Hemorrhoids. So Soothing! I thought since there is a Booty Frenzy I post my old-time Recipe. Thanks for the Great reminder that us, old Geazzerets still got it!
I add a tbsp. of coconut oil & then the tbsp. of baby oil too. Also use Johnson & Johnson baby bath wash (or the generic equivalent). Use Viva paper towels or the HomeSense extra thick/soft paper towels. These hold up great! Maybe try using a non-serrated knife to cut down on the fluffy ends though? Can use gallon Ziploc bags if you don't have a plastic container. Should fit into a regular diaper wipe container afterwards, but you may have to pull them out from the front for a while until they shrink down enough to come out the top like a regular wipe. TIP: Try not to make more than one half at a time! By the time you go to use the second half, you may find it super soggy and possibly moldy!Just my two cents!
thank you soooo much! i'm in 5th grade and too cheap to get wet wipes or baby wipes, so i thought i could make them instead and this is the perfect answer! I sweat a lot in my underarms, and so before applying deodorant i need to cleanse them and clean them to get rid of the sweat and then put on the deodorant, because putting it over sweat just makes me sweat more and only keeps my armpits smelling good for 10 minutes. but tysm making these for myself is gonna be funnnn
Very helpful ...thank you for making that video.😊 I just made mine with coconut oil and baby oil and I put Bath & Body Works baby body wash and it smells great and it works awesome... thank you again
I like liquid coconut oil and peroxide and any essential oil, and natural as I can find paper towels. Paper towels have lots of chemicals , softeners, bleach, etc.
This was good too for other reasons. The ingredients are easy and you can definitely find these anywhere. Sometimes coconut oil and the other thing the tree oil is not easy to find. But these are any general store. and you can always use bounty or Scott for paper towel. They seem to be the ones that hold up the best.
alyssa caeytano Good points! This is the simplest formula I think. I have not tried it with coconut oil or tree oil though. I keep meaning to try it that way.
I used to just pre-fold my paper towels, and store in a pile, because I didn't want any residue on my baby's skin. Then I kept a spray bottle next to it with simple water in it, but you could do the same thing with this. Adding just a tiny bit of vinegar would help everything preserve longer too. Vinegar has a PH of 5.5 which is the same as the skin, and it won't cause any stinging, even on a cut.... if it's diluted enough. Baby oil isn't really all that healthy either. You are better off using a light scented olive oil or fractionated coconut oil (coconut oil that's in a liquid form).
Glad I found this tired of couponing for wipes now I can use whole roll paper towels last longer and cheaper I thinkaybe adding olive oil may help so one tsp olive one tsp baby oil and depending on size 1 half cups water
Thank you! I have become kind of obsessed with baby wipes. And I like to keep atleast one packs in my bookbag at all times. I can't wait to make them. #Respect
Thanks sooo much for this video...It is going to save me a lot of money...My BUNDLE OF JOY ARRIVES IN THREE WEEKS and I will definitely have these ready for him!!!!
I used this same recipe on my kids when they were babies. They are now 21 and 25. They survived these and cloth diapers. We only used plastic diapers at daycare or when away from home. What a huge money saver!
I believe this is more suitable as well, I found the other recipe (I’m still thankful for her way of doing it) but this suits my needs for the use/purpose of the wipes.
I’m just transferring from bigger wet wipes packs that’s too big to carry around so I diy using zip lock and just needed abit of the wetness so I’m going to follow this method
I like the fact that this avoids baby wipe plastic packaging waste. However, the baby oil also comes from plastic packaging. I wonder whether for example cooking oil from bottles could be used. (Of course, it would be nice if baby oil also came in glass bottles.)
Clever and effective. Well done Mama Mittens. I will try your idea and tweek it a little by changing the solution to something that will clean my dirty hands while I am working in my wood shop. Something with a grease and grime cutting capability. Hmmm! Thanks again.
Janice Dias I noticed they did on my first dry, I used 2 tsp of oil and then 1 tsp of shampoo. It wasn’t as soapy and suited the purpose of bottom wiping for my kiddos! I also added 1/2 tsp of hydrogen peroxide to defer mold!
Or I think it's helpful because because if you're a mom of one, if you're a mom of 2 babies, then basically it's going to be very helpful in the way how it is very helpful is, you do have to make sure that its honestly been put in there correctly and you have to do it automatically have to do it so good. And I like that idea I like that idea so that's good and I got one kid on my own that's good atleast vanessa
No, I never do. I just make sure to keep them in a sealed container. I usually go through them quickly and have never had a problem with mold or anything like that.
I just made these... way too much soap and water. I suggest cutting it down in half... 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of soap, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
I know it’s late but It’s probably because your napkins were thinner or of a different brand. Hers are super thick so she needs to use a lot of the solution to evenly coat all of the tissue
This may sound dumb, but I'm wondering how long they will keep? Just worried about maybe mold or mildew, as it is now it takes over a week to use a wipe pack
mrspumpkinking1 I only make 1 batch at a time to keep them fresh. I typically use these to clean up my son after eating so they usually last a few weeks for me.
And 10 years later, people are still benefitting from this video. I chose to fold a roll of half sheet paper towels and add jojoba oil, rather than baby oil, but I wouldn't have even known where to begin if it weren't for this video. Thanks a ton!
These worked lovely! Thank you so much. I was in emergency for wipes but I don't get paid until tomorrow. These were a life saver!
I feel you girl
Is ur butt clean
m
Natalie Williams can u use them for ur bottoms?
@@jillybean9569 if you can use them for your childs butt ofc u can use them for your own butt lol
Just a side idea since people took the paper towels too. Use wash clothes and wash them and reuse them.
if i ever have a second baby I will make my own baby wipes always. this is so easy peasy and it saves SOOOOO MUCH MONEY!!!!! I wish I knew this 6 years ago!!!! before my only child was born!
dashizzle1985 I also use them for alot of other things besides babies. They are handy to have around. I think I will try this.

Using distilled water will help with mold.
+MylifeasDee: Thank you! Good advice!
Paper products, such as paper towels can contain dyes, inks, fragrances, chlorine bleach, formaldehyde, adhesives, and other chemicals.
Theresa Nott hi
These would be great for taking to a picnic or BBQ - you could use essential oils to scent them differently.
Wow. You don’t know how much we need this right now. Thanks from 6 years later😄
Haha right! I told my hubby people that lived a hundred yrs ago b laughing at us..lol
Be safe 2020!🖤

You will also be surprised by how fast these homemade concoctions will grow mold and mildew, dont make more than you can use fairly quickly
@@amyp6170 i know this is old but if you use distilled water, it shouldn't grow mold quickly.
Exactly what happened to me when I made wipes. I went to use them one day and it was mold everywhere 😲😲😲
Shannon Swift 🤮
Probably it can help to add one teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to avoid mold. I would also add a pinch of rubbing alcohol.

+janclaine1 Yes, this can save tons of money! Thanks for watching :)
I have found when I make my own wipes, I use distill water cause it seems to last longer.
+Craftin Bev Good idea!
MamaMittens esta padre
Too much soap. I did mine the opposite.
2 cups of hot distill water
1 tsp of shampoo
2 tsp of oil
Works better
Grudge yes I tried it successfully completed
ok
I will try it tomorrow

Can we use paper tissue
Agar baby ko nehlana nhi ho to wipes ka use kr sakte hai use pochne ke liye
How much days we can reserve it after making?
Yes this saved us a lot of money

this is genius, you are a blessed woman!
Can you use that same recipe for diapering? What kindof paper towls do you get for diapering
Wouldn't the soap water smell bad after a while?
Great sweet and short.
Phyllis Woods-Harris WoW you're beautiful .💜

These are good but Won't the soap or body wash leave the skin feeling soapy?
Janice Dias I noticed they did on my first dry, I used 2 tsp of oil and then 1 tsp of shampoo. It wasn’t as soapy and suited the purpose of bottom wiping for my kiddos! I also added 1/2 tsp of hydrogen peroxide to defer mold!
what's the lifespan for that before it gets molded?
This is so satisfying-
Instead of baby oil u could use coconut oil the virgin coconut stuff..Thanks for sharing.
If I don’t have distilled water how long till it molds ?
just boil tap water then let it cool, the boiling process will sanitize it
Can't wait to make some for my grandson. Thanks for the video.
Can I use baby shampoo instead of body wash
can i use coconut or olive oil instead of baby oil
yes
i reccomend coconut for the healing properties it has (has to be virgin unrefined to get the best result tho)
nice. simple . sweet . 😃😃🍓💜 I love it
You should use organic coconut oil and a couple teaspoons of witch hazel or alcohol.
Melissa Gray goose won't alcohol burn
Aja DeJear alcohol is in majority of everything, even baby items.

About how long do they last before they start to dry up and could you add more solution to them?
I used the Dollar Tree brand. What brand of paper towels did you use for this video?
Can we use any baby oil and johnson's body wash?
can I use jojoba oil instead of baby oil?
How do they stay moist lol. It’s like magic
Same way Huggies baby wipes do. Duh..
Great video ty! Because you used water, is it a Must to use a preservative to keep germs out? Plz advise
No, I never do. I just make sure to keep them in a sealed container. I usually go through them quickly and have never had a problem with mold or anything like that.
MamaMittens :ok great & tks again
blessedjewel56@gmail.com .. It will start to smell mold after 3 weeks in room temp.
Wow preaty cool 😎 but if I made some I wouldn’t add the oil because my Face is oily as it is.
if i use a pack of baby wipes how can i make these? how much would i add of the baby bath & the baby oil?
Is this okay for newborn?
Im sorry but i want to know does the these are save to use after pee? Hope you don't mind to reply
Bacteria and mould will grow in these within a couple of days. Better to dampen paper towels with plain warm water just before using them.
D She how do you damped them just in case
e
😂😂 before I found this video, I had used paper towels and water.
question! I only have baby oil GEL, do you think that this would be effective to? thanks in advance and i love your video, thanks for sharing!
I've never tried that, but it could work.
@@MamaMittens thanks for the speedy reply! I'll do a "trial and error" batch to see if that would work!

does it erupt??
I just made these... way too much soap and water. I suggest cutting it down in half... 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of soap, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil

no need to wash after using it ? what about the soap it will remin on the skin?

How did you get the oil to mix with the water?
Love this idea ty
Can I use tishu peper
I hike and baby wipes are a must for a hygiene bag but I hated to spend the money! This helps a lot!
Is this okay to wipe for a baby girl?
thank you
Can u use these on baby's????
How long can this be kept?
Since there is soap in it will it irritate the baby's skin ?
Yes this is helpful...😃
which baby oil to use, massage oil or hair oil ? please tell
can we use normal tissue paper for wipes?? does it works or not ??
It would probably dissolve. Paper towels hold up when wet, tissue and toilet paper don't, really.
How hot is the water?
This may sound dumb, but I'm wondering how long they will keep? Just worried about maybe mold or mildew, as it is now it takes over a week to use a wipe pack
mrspumpkinking1 I only make 1 batch at a time to keep them fresh. I typically use these to clean up my son after eating so they usually last a few weeks for me.
Oh I would only do one at a time too! But thank you u answered my question :)
awesome can't wait to try thank-you and God bless
how long these last ? do these dry out?
Brilliant!
Will paper towels with print be okay?
I haven't tried with print, but I would think it would be ok.
MamaMittens materiales
i like the organic paper towels but they are hard to get so i go and find dry wipes so i can make my own
So you have to use baby oil what happens if I don't use oil at all
How did they come through the middle?! 😅
Does nt it tear apart when pulling it out
Hi. Can you tell me from where did you get the container and what size?. Great video!!
I've had the container for years - I actually don't remember where i got it from. You should be able to find one at any store that sells containers.
Thanks!
MamaMittens, Can you tell me the container brand that you are using? I have a hard time finding the container that fits the paper towel.
+Saidha Banu The brand is Lock & Lock. My mother in law bought them from QVC about 8 years ago. They might still carry them.
+MamaMittens , Thank you. I will check online.
What a great idea !!!! Thanks 🌹
thank you so much!!
How long would these last? I mean, if I don't use the wipes regularly would it still be safe to use after 3 weeks? Thanks.
It should be fine after 3 weeks. Mine lasted for a while but I guess it could also depend on the temperature in your house too.
thanks for the tips
Does anyone know of anythijg more sturdy than paper towel to use?
i like it
this just saved me tons of money, plus now I know exactly whats in the baby wipes. awesome! :)
Can you put the link of the container in your description?
It's listed there but here's the link - amzn.to/2LpINPa
how long do these last before going bad?
I'm not sure, mine never went bad and I had them for over a month.
what do you think for a newborn
+Antanisha Garrett Yep, they can be used on newborns.
Thank you much
awesome...new mommy points for me
