    This is a great idea! It works and it's lovely. Just in case anyone is like me though and has just about no time for DIYing ( 3 under 3 and working full time) I just use a spray bottle of water, roll of paper towels, and a jar of coconut oil at my changing station. Spray the paper towel with water, dip your paper towel in the jar of coconut oil. Bam. It Cleans alllllll kinds of poopy messes...even the blowouts. I should add that the coconut oil jar is big enough for my whole hand to fit because it's from Costco and as we all know everything is jumbo sized from there. That's what I do in case anyone is interested. Not to take away from this idea though because it also works:)

    If you use a sharp non-serrated knife it will cut down on the frays and fluffy bits that the sawing causes. I’ve seen makeup remover wipes made with a similar recipe and they store in a round glass jar with a sealing lid. It fits the paper towels quite snug, but near perfectly.

    I would make a statement that people should use unbleached paper towels and a natural form of mold control such as colloidal silver, for example

      Hey which natural toxic free paper towel brand is good as of strong abosrabsn n soft enough for diy baby wipe. I am just in middle of searching for another great paper towel beside bounty.

      @@asmaitghebru2212 I personally don't use kitchen paper for those kind of jobs. I prefer to order unbleached cotton wipes that are dry from Amazon. That way I get to add my own liquid and they're suitable as wipes and obviously much stronger than any kitchen paper brand. But if you want I use kitchen paper the only one I could recommend is seventh generation. Check your local health food store four different brands.

    Is it important the water is distilled? Most other recipes in the internet say it is but maybe that just affects how quickly they can grow bacteria?

    Also, does anyone know how long these take to get moldy? Does it help to keep in fridge? Just wondering if it’s a good idea to make more than 1 half at a time. I’ll have a newborn again soon so I’m thinking it definitely will be worth making 2 at a time!

    • @dandersohn

      This is a good point you’re making here! Anything that has water in it has to have some kind of preservative because over a period of just a couple of days it can get mold and different kind of bacteria that can be very very harmful. I make my own products at home as far as skin care and hair care and you have to use some kind of natural broad-spectrum preservative.

    but if the baby hasnt had nuts introduced in their diet is it safe to use baby oils? because you still absorb some oils through your skin

    How to you keep the wipes from getting moldy? I made my own once and they got moldy! It's a good sign tho, no preservatives!

    • @urbanecobeauty
      @urbanecobeauty 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is why its better to use the spray bottle technique. You can't let water sit, mold will grow. - Also paper towels are full of toxins unless you get natural ones.

    Does the water have to be distilled or can it just be regular tap water
