Why would anyone be upset calling it what it is? It's a torque converter! Just like a lot of old snow mobiles! Back in the day we called them snow mobile clutches! Great video and ignore the haters...Just keep on keeping on!! Namaste!
I absolutely love the juggernaut. Some people say they are afraid of putting it on something heavy, like a go-kart, but my kart is about 200 pounds and with a stage 4 predator if you hammer the throttle at any speed, the tires instantly spin and if they're hot it wheelies, something the stock pulley couldn't do. Great video and God bless.
I personally like the ride videos. testing somthings' performance after you built it is one of the best parts of the job i think. keep up the good work my dude. Love the content.
If those are sealed bearings on that jack shaft take the seal out of the backsides that go to the inside and they will be greased all the time after you put a grease fitting to it. Same thing on your lawn mower deck pulley bearings.
Hey Red beard what type of coil pack did you run on this engine? Did you run the 6500 rpm one or did you have an alternative without a limiter??? Thanks
I have a 212 stage 1 predator that I order from Go power sport and my go-kart, and I have a $90 torque converter from eBay, and I bought the 30 series torque converter with the juggernaut for $199 from Go power sports, and my car lost power and lots of speed. I went back to the regular sheep torque converter and got my torque and speed back. It was disappointing but then I don't know if I did something wrong.
Whats the main reason people dont use centrifugal dry clutches where the engine sprocket is attached to the clutch drum? We use them in professional racing go karts for 2 strokes that produce 25-40 hp and they work perfectly. These cv clutches just add weight or is there a good reason there used?
Variable gearing is why people like them. Starts at about 2.7/1 then when the belt fully shifts it's .9/1 (overdrive) using a stock 30 series. There is smoother power delivery, better low end and higher top speed.
Love your channel!! I just got the tillotson performance engine for my Coleman bt200uex and wondering can I use the stock fuel tank from that engine for the new one? Just ordered the engine today and didn’t think about that part til 8 hours later😅

Hey Red Beard, question. i have a 340 clone with a twister cam, a +.040" arc rod header with a small slip on like you did on one of your builds and a performance filter. i had the shaft cut to 3/4 due to it coming off a generator. the question i have is do you think the juggernaut will hold up to it? its going on my streaker with 18" golf cart slicks on the rear 6:1 ratio.

I bought a 225 also I'm having trouble with keeping it running after I give it gas. It idols down but wants to quit. I dont know anything about these slide carbs.
Hey guys, I built my 196 out with 22# springs, ARC rod, PVL flywheel, 8 degree key, CS grind core cam, billet intake, shorty pipe, Autolite plug, Tillotson PK-1b and a TAV 30. It gets up to speed fast and then feels like it starts to wind out , acceleration decreases and torque drops but the RPMs are still high and the motor should be pulling. I left the stock jets in the PK-1B, is this a starving thing? I'm running stock gears and the TAV 30 is on factory settings. I'm guessing this thing is capable of 7000 RPM and around the 15hp neighborhood, someone else recommended the Juggernaut but I don't think that will help top end pull. It already wheelies and launches hard. Also, it sounds like a two stroke made sweet greasy love to a four stroke and birthed a beautiful baby beast that scares most women and small children.
What happens is the driver pulley keeps pinching on the belt even though the secondary pulley is maxed out. This creates loads of friction on the belt as the pulley tension increases. This happens on a stock tav 30. You can buy a spacer that stops the pulley at a certain point, but it's a bandaid where this is a bionic arm. I run a similar engine and it's great.
Do you have a good replacement belt for the Comet TAV2 Torq-A-Verter 30 series asymmetrical belts? I'm talking about something other than the factory stock Comet belts that will hold up to 18+ HP, because my Tillotson 225cc Performance Engine has 18.386 HP, and my belt has started slipping, so I'm not sure if oil got on the belt when my side cover seal got damaged and leaked oil into the belt causing it to slip, or if maybe the Juggernaut with the stock Comet driven pully's not holding up. I'm trying to figure out which is the problem, I sprayed brake cleaner on the belt, which cleared it up for about 4 miles, then it started slipping again so badly that I couldn't get it to hardly move. Well, I just bought a new Comet stock belt to see if this fixes the problem, hopefully it will. But I've seen videos where people have changed the driven pully's springs, so I don't know if the spring might need to be changed or not, it still has the stock spring on it, which I believe is red. Thanks
Which one is better the Tillotson 212 or the 225, and which one would give me more speed for my Coleman CT200U-EX? Also, how fast do you think the Tillotson 212 cc with the stage 3? Also, should I get a 22mm or 24mm Mikuni carburetor, and will it make it? One other thing, why are you not longer using go power sports??? Will I be making a mistake buying from them??? I want the stage 3 Tillotson 212 cc, and they were the only one who has the stage 3 Tillotson 212 cc engines.
@@RedBeardsGarage so do you think that the 225 Tillotson with a 24 Mikuni carb will give me more speed than a Tillotson 212 stage 3 with a 24 Mikuni flat side carb? The one guy at go power sports told me that the Tillotson 212 stage 3 isn't no joke, that it should give me a top speed of more like 70 when I asked him how fast does he think it would go, like 50, that's when he said, no, more like 70 mph! I said, no, really, he said yes! I mentioned you and Cars and Cameras, they said that you don't deal with them anymore, which I didn't ask why, but they said that John and Issac are their buddies. So, who do you deal with now? I just don't want to buy shit from go power sports if they're not good to deal with, you know, because I'm Disabled and can't work anymore, I haven't been able to work since 2008 and my money is very limited, I just sold a bunch of my sports cards to get the money to buy a new engine and other things I want, so I don't want to take any chances of getting screwed on $1,500, you know! Google says that the majority of go power sports customers are dissatisfied, which kinda makes me feel like I shouldn't deal with them, but they're the only ones who I've found that has the Tillotson 212 stage 3 engine, and the Juggernaut Torque Converter kit. That's another thing, they show that the Juggernaut Torque Converter kit is only for engines 3-7 hp, and then they sell which I believe is their Juggernaut that's sold separately as just like Juggernaut itself, so I'm not going to pay $189 for the one Juggernaut kit and then pay another $119 for the Juggernaut itself, which is rated for engines up to 18 hp, which is what I would need for the Tillotson 212 stage 3 engine. Thanks. Sorry so long, but I had to explain everything, because I want to know what's the best way for me to go.
@@RedBeardsGarage I just bought the 225cc Tillotson Performance engine with the 28 mm Mikuni carb. They said that the 28 mm flat-side carb will work great wtith that engine, so I can't wait to see how much faster it's going to be!
I wind up getting the 225cc Tillotson Racing engine with the 24mm flat-side Mikuni carburetor, and I just finished installing everything with the juggernaut, and I tell you what, damn this bitch is FAST!!!!! It's so hard to keep the front end down because it keeps popping wheelies! But it's hard to get started, it takes 5 to 12 pulls to get it started, then you have to open the throttle just a little bit while you are pulling it, if you don't, then it won't start.

@@mikenordby2866 OK. Weights and springs have been changed to increase lockup rpms, correct?
