This is a great video. Seeing how excited your son was to get in the back makes me realize that so many of us are thinking about this area all wrong. For children this 3rd row is like having a pillow fort. It is their own world. It will also serve for small adults (my mother in law is 5'2") for short hauls. Clearly it is more functional than we thought. Beautiful family!

When you sit on the 2nd row seat, you were looking at the front seat right in front of you as if you are getting a time out from your parent :-) I wouldn’t sit in the 2nd row more than 10 minutes. And 3rd row seat? Head hitting the window? I know the Hylander has a really small 3rd row seat, but at least you don’t hit the tailgate with your head.

Wow, finally a practical and informative video about potential real world usage of the third row. Obviously this 7 seater was designed primarily for use by children and and small adults and you demonstrated how that might work that very well, thank you. As a short adult male at 5 foot 5 inches this looks like it would work fine for me or my wife - though with 7 people in the car it might get claustrophobic for anything but short trips. I had plenty of leg room though, which is different from the video. I believe this is because of body type (a) I have a long torso short legs, this guy has the opposite, (b) I have a large derrière making me sit up higher. That said, I ended up ordering a 3-row, and I only plan on using it for my 3-year old, and maybe in a few years my newborn when he's older (grandparents will sit in back row with newborn, and we only have 1 car between all 6 of us).

Best review of the Model Y 3 row I've seen. Actual real-life use-case. THANK YOU! This just convinced me as having the Model Y as my next 3 row SUV once my current lease is up.

This is by far the best model Y third row video on TH-cam I've come across. Thank you for putting this together. My dealer person actually told me that reclining second row seats wasn't possible like it is in the 5 seater, so your video was a good verification that it indeed is possible.
I have similar aged kids as yours (same infant car seat even 😂) so it really helps.
BTW with the uppababy base installed, it is hard to incline and slide forward the 2nd row seat to let someone get to the 3rd row. The driver seat position for 6 ft person gets in the way, as I found during my testing at the dealership.

Great Video - we have 2 small dogs, 1 large Great Dane and we are trying for our first child. I initially thought this car was going to be far too small but with all the compartments and adjustability the 2nd row gets with this option I am heavily reconsidering. Lol luckily i am only 5’5” so i think i should have it even easier.

It's a jump seat. On those occasions when you have to take all four kids with you, the little one gets the back seat and won't care. The rest of the time the seats fold flat and you use the storage space. It's all good.
