    part of the problem is that people get all nervous and fearful so when the fight starts 90% of their "system" goes out the window.

      Yeah - because they have no training :P
      So many wing chun guys are just doing chi sao - and think that is enough - so when they get attacked from other styles they have no clue.
      Which is why we always do wing chun against other styles - not just Wing against wing :P

    We both have good points. End of story. What I have to realize is that despite all the training and real experience many MAs have, fighters who can stay in top form and have great fighting instinct are a very rare breed.

    The karate guy is very hectic and keeps himself restless. While the Wing Chun guy is calm stable and ready to move in and quickly attack when the opponent tries to come close.

    I have little respect for the karate guy as he constantly tries to make a fool of the wing chun guy while he stands there quiet and ready for a serious battle. Also as earlier spoken the karate guy is afraid of getting up close and that shows from his moving pattern

    The karate fighter isn't as confident as he looks. He's scared to attack first, I'm a Goju ryu karate student and I can tell by his technique that's he's actually quite worried about getting hit.

    @1:31 there is a moment when the wing chun looks like he makes a great entry and advances on the karate guy, who is stumbling backwards, but for some reason that is the exact moment the ref breaks it up... apart from that, it's hard to admit the karate guy kinda won that exchange, landing far more blows and showing more aggression, despite his deeply offensive and dishonourable way of fighting. The wing chun guy was calm, honourable and focused throughout. I feel like if the fight continued to the death, the wing chun guy might eventually get the upper hand, as he wasted far less energy prancing around and is likely better conditioned from the wooden dummy. Oh well, guess we'll never know... point to karate!

    What I said before stands. We are humans and not robots. No matter how good you are at fighting, you WILL NEVER be perfect in a real fight. Yes, the better your training and the more REAL fight experience you have, the closer to form you will be in a real situation. The longer the fight lasts, the more fatigued the fighter, the sloppier the movements. This is why it's important to end a fight as quick as possible Still, NO ONE is PERFECT. I know the difference between reality and bullshit.

    Similarly, what do u think about Pro Ice Skaters? Their level of endurance & precision probably far exceeds in comparison, to most martial arts training intensity & requirements. They cant just kick. They must hold high leg positions, while maintaining balance on ICE, steering in correct vectors, etc. They train2perform a certain way,& most all are Flawless on execution. Its the same with other sports / arts. Its how u train, that determines ur output abilities.

    Real fighting isn't as clean and artsy as "pros" like YOU try to make it out to be. No real fighter is going to stay perfectly in form for the entire fight. A real fight is quick, violent, and in your face with no refs to interfere and give each fighter a breather. This ain't a fucking choreographed movie.

If it were in the street I know who would be left standing. The wing chun guy is clearly a senior student or junior instructor and is waiting for the karateka to get serious.

    When u run for a mile run competition, u may train for 7 miles. Thats y they wont fatigue. Its the same w. combat arts. U train much harder &longer than any fight would ever last. Real fights usually end fast, cause barefist. But, many arts trained 2fight multiples,because they were rebels,soldiers,etc. If ur training is Crap, u will quickly look like crap. But even besides fatigue, is awareness. If u dont have it, everything falls apart when pressure & speed is added.

  • @kungfusteve73
    @kungfusteve73 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    The worse you are at your game, the worse u will b in real pressured combat. Especially if u dont even know the full system. Perfected movements = attacks & counters landed. Poor stance = fall over & get pushed around easily. Poor body awareness = all techs will get sloppy when pressured. Poor core strength = structure breaks easily + poor power generation + poor rooting. I could go on and on. If ur spot on, it will look exactly how its trained. Any mistakes r recovered quickly.

    • @zran3097
      @zran3097 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@unicohijo1121 It's all about context. Is it a street fight or a sporting competition? Are you fighting standing up or rolling around on the ground? Is the opponent bigger or smaller than you? Any one of these factors could change which martial art will work best against the other. But what REALLY matters the most is HOW OFTEN DOES THE PRACTIONER ACTUALLY SPARR? Forms, conditioning, strength, balance... These are all key areas for development but ultimately not all the forms in the world can prepare you for the mad frenzy of fists and kicks flying at you; it is a very strange, unique feeling and you will have to sparr (safely, with gum shield and gloves) quite a lot before your art becomes truly effective against other martial artists. As far as fighting thugs on the street goes, almost any martial art with little no sparring should routinely incapacitate them.

    The WC guy should of easily kicked him off that first punch Karate guy tried, it was so sloppy, leg flying high, arm coming straight and from the side? easy dodge and kick to the left leg, and Karate mans on the ground...If the kick has power + speed. Everyone focuses on technique, but it all comes down to speed and power and 100% calm attitude, which no one seems to have, except for Masters who refuse to fight for show, so you get alot of disbelievers & haters...

      Straight up. The karate guy fights with his ego. That's a terrible habit.
