He goes on to correctly and comprehensively explain why. His explanation is also the reason why so much focus was placed on MJ. But he is always going to be overshadowed by Michael Jordan and that's the way it is when you play with a mega superstar athlete. And in terms of superstardom, Jordan is on that Babe Ruth, Muhammad Ali level. You see it all the time in sports. The Yankees of the late 90s had many great players, but Derek Jeter gets most of the love. Same with the Patriots of the past 20 years (Tom Brady). Kyrie Irving hits the biggest shot in the history of the Cavs franchise and it's like a side note because his teammate is LeBron James. Scottie should be on his knees thanking Black Jesus. It was MJ that created that defensive beast. Pippen wasn't even drafted out of high-school. He walked on some Univ. in Arkansas as a player/equipment mgr. His main duty was to keep the gym clean. Only reason he played as a freshman was because a few players quit the team. As a Bulls rookie Pip couldn't even beat that cadaver (Brad Sellers) for starting small-forward position. He averaged 7 pts. off the bench. That same year Jordan won MVP and DPOY. But after a few years of being under Air Jordan's wings, Pippen evolved into the Robin to MJ's Batman. Jordan's work ethic was insane. And he helped mold Pip into a hardwood heathen. If it wasn't for Jordan, Pippen would have become just another role player like past his prime Ron Harper.

He's one of the greatest two-way players in the history of the game, and is recognized as one of the best ever. But he is always going to be overshadowed by Michael Jordan and that's the way it is when you play with a mega superstar athlete. And in terms of superstardom, Jordan is on that Babe Ruth, Muhammad Ali level.
You see it all the time in sports. The Yankees of the late 90s had many great players, but Derek Jeter gets most of the love. Same with the Patriots of the past 20 years (Tom Brady). Kyrie Irving hits the biggest shot in the history of the Cavs franchise and it's like a side note because his teammate is LeBron James.

It's so easy to forget that MJ wasn't always praised like he does now. There was a time he heard criticisms all the time. He had haters. He had so many people jealous of him including Isiah who is still jealous of him today.

Its hard to say how someone may be while ill... Food Poisoning is terrible for a day..And it was something that happened on game day.. a back injury is harder to deal with.. He had that prior to the game.. The teammates knew one of their players wasn't 100 percent so on game day everyone would have to pull together and rally for the win..
The problem is the box office star gets all the credit and all the blame. So be it. Never heard John Havlicek or any of the 60s Boston teams complain about Bill Russell getting all the credit. Tony Kukoc hit more clutch shots than Scottie Pippen did.

But after a few years of being under Air Jordan's wings, Pippen evolved into the Robin to MJ's Batman. Jordan's work ethic was insane. And he helped mold Pip into a hardwood heathen. If it wasn't for Jordan, Pippen would have become just another role player like past his prime Ron Harper.
