What you guys fail to realize is that when your game has fewer players you need to get more money out of each of them. Star Citizen has trailblazed this method. They have a $26,000 ship pack and single ships for as much as $2400. And their game is even more broken than Fallout 76. Whales are the only thing that matters. Whales are stupid so you don't even have to make a good game.
Bethesda nails ONE THING in Fallout lore: Each Vault had some kind of inhumane experiment as an agenda (which often failed miserably). Fallout 76 encapsulates the idea behind Vaults perfectly.

The only thing that has ever possibly or even remotely attracted to me to this game is the recent news that pleb players are ganging up and are now hunting First subs. That is the only real entertainment that anyone can possibly hope for in this "service". So basically Bethesda have turned this car crash into the Arnie 80' s movie The Running Man. That's the only other answer I have to "Huh, I guess every single one of us is an idiot", because I did buy some Bethesda owned games well before this boycott, but I'm but a drop of water in their financial bucket. i suspect they are either straight up lying or fluffing the truth about sales of the service to make it seem like its more popular then it is. i have alot of friends who game, a few of us played fallout 76 off and on and not one fell for this. i dont know anyone who got the subscription, most buy stuff in the atom shop with the free atoms from events etc.

The next Fallout game is out. It's not called Fallout though, it's called The Outer Worlds. Every bit as good as Fallout, without the bugs, or the Bethesda. Made by Obsidian, the creators of Fallout: New Vegas. It's basically Fallout in space without the Pip-Boy.
Eh since Bethesda got the license the best game in the ‘Reboot’ Franchise was the one they didn’t actually make. Fallout 3 was enjoyable but majorly lacking content. Fallout 4 was an abomination and lacked actual RPG elements and choice. Fallout 76 speaks for itself. New Vegas was flawless despite the bugs, a true masterpiece. And the devs of that Obsidian have released their new game The Outer Worlds to rave reviews. Stop giving your money to Bethesda people. Just buy The Outer Worlds. You won’t regret it
@globalicon2012 depends on the quality of the game. The best sonic games are normally a few hours long but replay value is super high. I beat doom on hard in 8-9 hours first time but I've played it 6-7 times.

It's a panic move. If you cannot bring in new players and fixing the game will cost too much then just milk the people who're too addicted to say no. The second you see an online game go into "here's some cool items for you to buy, here's some pay to win mechanics" mode, then you KNOW that they've entered the stage where they need to get as much money as possible before it sinks. The thing is that outside of the asian market people almost always quit on mass when the end game gear or content becomes gated behind a paywall, and the developers knows this.

Azukana Businesses fail despite what the market tells them. Selling a broken, incomplete product time and time again will eventually lead to people who won’t buy that product. I've been an avid gamer for more than 30 years, I remember when the mainstream view was 'video games are just for kids'. Despite growing into such a huge industry and community we've been falsely labelled for decades as childish, immature, nerdy, then misogynist, toxic and entitled... I've seen journalists, the media, politicians, lawmakers, hack tv writers and game publishers insult and denigrate gamers but nothing made me question whether I want to identify as a gamer more than knowing how many idiots prop up these abusive practices. The shame is on gamers this time.

It makes me sad knowing that the absolute destruction of my beloved childhood franchise (The Elder Scrolls) is coming. I know it's coming and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
Get in line, they destroyed fallout for me with fallout 3. I was actually quite excited about fallout 3 until it was revealed to be a twichy FPS instead of a nice RPG type game.
Sadly I think I will be waiting a while post-launch to get the next scrolls game if I get it at all, just so there time to see what approach Bethesda takes to the game and if it comes out a buggy mess.
I have already given up on Starfield and the next supposedly single-player Elder Scrolls. At this point I have severe doubts if Bethesda is actually going to make true single player games at all anymore.

Even though I’ve played Fallout since the first one as a kid, and played from Morrowind-Skyrim. Even though Fallout is my favorite franchise, I’m never buying a single game from them ever again. Bethesda is dead to me.

Geoff Rogers admittedly at this point a good half the fun with Bethesda games was the bugs. They were charming with Skyrim - then they rereleased Skyrim about a million times and never addressed half of the bugs. Hell, the best bugfixes are mods, and we’ve seen rather clearly what Bethesda makes without modders to finish their games. The only reason I’m even considering buying Starfield or TES6 is that I’m willing to give them exactly one more chance, and even thats going to be “is it just Space-Skyrim, cause fuck that”. I’m sure as shit not buying either at launch... that and I’m a console peasant, so I can’t just throw on a pirate hat (yet).

There's plenty of sites like RedBubble or TeeSpring that allow you to make and order your own shirts, even orders of one at a time. You don't need someone else to put slogans on shirts for you.
Sure. Sub to my T-shirt first for a year and get the ability to buy the shirt for $76.99 and get a lint every month for free. But to have the rights to wear this shirt you have to pay another $20.
I thik early acces is good thing, devs get better feedback to fix more bugs and finish it faster and better.. but it must be told about early acces/beta, devs must work on that, they must react to feedback, updates must be free, if not it is scam-ish

Eh since Bethesda got the license the best game in the ‘Reboot’ Franchise was the one they didn’t actually make. Fallout 3 was enjoyable but majorly lacking content. Fallout 4 was an abomination and lacked actual RPG elements and choice. Fallout 76 speaks for itself. New Vegas was flawless despite the bugs, a true masterpiece. And the devs of that Obsidian have released their new game The Outer Worlds to rave reviews. Stop giving your money to Bethesda people. Just buy The Outer Worlds. You won’t regret it

At this point, i'm honestly under the impression that this whole thing is some sort of social experiment from Bethesda.

So the experiment was to create hype and have a massive ad campaign for the game.. release a shell of the game .. the game of course sucks and most consider the game dead.. a year later you create a buzz by adding a subscription service paywall.. you then slowly start to hide the real game behind that paywall .. lots of stupid ass excited players buy the subscription service because they wanna play the real game .. yeah you piss off lots of your fan base but fuck ‘em 🖕🏽because you make good money off the insanely priced subscription service from the idiots .. in the process conditioning players to accept similar practices in later games ...... those fuckin assholes and it just may work 🤭
It's a panic move. If you cannot bring in new players and fixing the game will cost too much then just milk the people who're too addicted to say no. The second you see an online game go into "here's some cool items for you to buy, here's some pay to win mechanics" mode, then you KNOW that they've entered the stage where they need to get as much money as possible before it sinks. The thing is that outside of the asian market people almost always quit on mass when the end game gear or content becomes gated behind a paywall, and the developers knows this.

Azukana Businesses fail despite what the market tells them. Selling a broken, incomplete product time and time again will eventually lead to people who won’t buy that product. When you’ve stopped making sales as a business because you’ve lost the faith of your consumers, then you’ve essentially failed as a business. Bethesda isn’t over yet, but it’s on it’s way out
I've been an avid gamer for more than 30 years, I remember when the mainstream view was 'video games are just for kids'. Despite growing into such a huge industry and community we've been falsely labelled for decades as childish, immature, nerdy, then misogynist, toxic and entitled... I've seen journalists, the media, politicians, lawmakers, hack tv writers and game publishers insult and denigrate gamers but nothing made me question whether I want to identify as a gamer more than knowing how many idiots prop up these abusive practices. The shame is on gamers this time.

It makes me sad knowing that the absolute destruction of my beloved childhood franchise (The Elder Scrolls) is coming. I know it's coming and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
Get in line, they destroyed fallout for me with fallout 3. I was actually quite excited about fallout 3 until it was revealed to be a twichy FPS instead of a nice RPG type game.
Sadly I think I will be waiting a while post-launch to get the next scrolls game if I get it at all, just so there time to see what approach Bethesda takes to the game and if it comes out a buggy mess.
I have already given up on Starfield and the next supposedly single-player Elder Scrolls. At this point I have severe doubts if Bethesda is actually going to make true single player games at all anymore.
Stop being so dramatic, this game/ year alone won’t cripple a giant like Bethesda. I’m confident ESO 6 will be fine.

Geoff Rogers admittedly at this point a good half the fun with Bethesda games was the bugs. They were charming with Skyrim - then they rereleased Skyrim about a million times and never addressed half of the bugs. Hell, the best bugfixes are mods, and we’ve seen rather clearly what Bethesda makes without modders to finish their games.
The only reason I’m even considering buying Starfield or TES6 is that I’m willing to give them exactly one more chance, and even thats going to be “is it just Space-Skyrim, cause fuck that”. I’m sure as shit not buying either at launch... that and I’m a console peasant, so I can’t just throw on a pirate hat (yet).

I thik early acces is good thing, devs get better feedback to fix more bugs and finish it faster and better.. but it must be told about early acces/beta, devs must work on that, they must react to feedback, updates must be free, if not it is scam-ish
