  • Are you in the market for an enduro mountain bike? Check out our Enduro Bike Shootout series as we evaluate 8 capable long travel bikes. Today we're reviewing the Canyon Torque 29.
Read the full written review here:
    theloamwolf.co...
The Canyon Torque has been in Canyon Bicycles’ range for many years now, slotting into the zone between their Strive enduro race bike and Sender downhill bike. It used to be a smaller-wheeled freeride focused bike that focused less on all-out speed and more on all terrain capability. We rode that 27.5er Canyon Torque in our Bike Park Review Tour some years back and thought how great it’d be with a little bigger wheel. Now we’ve got the freshened up 29er Torque CF7 at the plate in our Enduro Bike Shootout. With a carbon fiber frame and purposeful spec, the Torque 29 CF 7 is the second-cheapest in our roundup, but definitely offered the best bang for the buck of all our contenders.
When you’re pushing the Torque to the limits, it falls a touch short of the most composed bikes in this test, with the rear end firming up through repeated heavy hits and for that reason it’s not the bike that we’d hop onto to try and hit the top step of a race podium. All that to say, we may pick other bikes above the Torque but that doesn’t mean this bike isn’t a solid 8.25 out of 10. Then when you combine the price to performance ratio and how much fun you get for a bike under $4,500 and it’s easy to bump it up to an 8.5 or 8.75.
    Price: $4,499
    Weight: 34.3 lbs

Dario is a great addition to Loam Wolf. He gives real opinions and isn't afraid to let us know true performance ratios backed by geo stats and overall ride experience.

Stack height and bottom bracket height are just as important as reach. Would love to see more discussion around this and and how it alters body position.

I like some bb drop, puts weight below axles for stability but then deadness playfulness too. Everything is give and take.

I've put a megneg on mine, makes it even more supple off the top and more mid stroke. With full of negative bands and no spacers in positive it ramps up great. Loses it bottlemless feel that you get with original aircan and can feel the ramp up. Shock Stroke is great for bigger riders for lower pressures. Perfect for East Kootenay jank.

Great review as always but really how hard is it to just say, "i'm 5'10" or whatever when also saying reach was too much, I prefer 475 - 480 or whatever. We at least know Dario? Mario? is 6'3 and liked the reach, but im 5'10 how can I relate !!!

Thanks for a great review- nice to see one that’s not top of the line. I have one of these on order in a Medium so hopefully that resolves some of the balance issues, otherwise sounds perfect for what I want it for!

Can always trust Canyon to make one of the better value propositions in the line up. If you are on a budget don't forget that Canyon is one of the few brands that also makes an equally capable, yet significantly cheaper, alloy version as well.
