Well he is more well known so it isn't surprising they would market that way but the movie overall is an homage to the Dennis O'Neil Characters and that era of Batman stories.
I wish WB would give these movies a bigger budget. They're getting so little money, about the budget of 2 to 3 episodes of an average 20 minute animated show. So on average, they're actually getting less money per minute of animation.
Sounds like this movie could've used the "Batman: Assault on Arkham" movie treatment. There they focused more on the Suicide Squad characters with Batman more in the background. They would have his name in the marketing and give him minimal involvement, at least until the climax.
@@JeffZ1028 70% that's a grade of a C like barely a C....do I wanna watch a movie that gets a C grade? idk. It depends. Is it even a C though? Have you seen it?
@@daraafolabi5090 no, dont hide behind those imo, issa fuckin fact, whole batman plot would be around him stopping the shiva or smth. Also he dumb af in this cartoon, he's always mature , genius , and like strongest superhero without powers
Right? It should be full of more flashbacks, especially of after Nanda Parbat and Bruce’s continued training in other parts of the world. Also, Shiva moving to Gotham and why she chose the same city as her classmate.
Honestly DC can't survive without Batman. AT&T might dissolve or sell them off if they keep fuckinf up like this especially if or once Batman sales in comics, movies, and merchandise start to slip. Cause seriously if I was looking at what sells and only see 1 and sometimes Superman sell yea ight that company is done.
It was a really well done movie in my opinion, Lady Shiva and Bronze Tiger were the best. Also Batman was such a noob in comparison with the other guys and I actually liked that lol
Well this is where he first starts learning so it makes sense that he was a noob. If he was already the best and could beat the others from the start there wouldn't be any point of telling the story of how he learned because he would already be the best.
If Batman was excised from the plot, then nobody would watch this. If Batman is the weakest part of the movie & they wanted to develop the other characters, DC could've what they did on Batman: Assault on Arkham. Batman is the headliner, but he's in the movies (as Batman) for only a few minutes. The movie is really a Suicide Squad movie, but was marketed as a Batman movie to draw the larger audience.
Yeah, and then people would complain about how Batman wasn't very interesting despite having his name on the titles. You can't really win. That being said, I hope that WB uses this film to gaga interest for a Martial Arts movie with Shiva, Dragon, and Bronze Tiger.
@@15jewjew The only reason batman is so much more popular than everyone else is because they gave him so many movies and shows and now they're only willing to make movies and shows for him because he's popular.
Loved this movie. Enjoyed the fact there was a more mature vibe to. The whole ploy on Batman being a novice compared to others was a great take as well.
Yeah, but when Naga said the he was the least-skilled of them all, he should’ve said “That was years ago. I’ve grown since then.” Because after all, he’s trained in other parts of the world and continued after Nanda Parbat.
Not trying to be contrarian , but kind of tired of batman anyways. There's so many other character to use. This is like the 100th batman animated movie?
@@15jewjew ok but why name it Batman? If this movie didn’t have him in the title your point would be valid but instead he is there and I feel like people expected a Batman movie.
@@aaron9777 I get that, I'm not saying it's wrong to expect Batman, just saying that overall you could probably rework the film without batman and it could still be successful and with a different title. Not that putting in batman is bad, I quite enjoy batman films just sometime wish there were a bigger initiative to have movies with other dc characters.
I don't really feel this is a Batman movie. I feel he was made a part of a story to sell the movie. Bruce Wayne only dresses up as Batman twice and in the end is told he's the most untalented fighter of the group.
I'm kind of in the middle on this argument. Cause while yes I would loved if it was just a DC Animated film starring Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, and Lady Shiva cause they are seriously underrated characters especially Richard I mean he's officially known in canon as the 2nd best martial artist in the entire DC Multiverse the guy who in some storylines trained Batman, Lady Shiva, and Bronze Tiger in Martial Arts and he doesn't get the respect he deserves from most DC Fans but I also understand they put Batman in here just because he's recognizable, to help sell the film since most DC fans are Batman fans.
If you think Richard Dragon is underdeveloped, then he should've been cut out of the film and this would've been a fantastic DC movie, and it would've been also nice to see Batman's dynamic with Bronze Tiger and Lady Shiva.
Wouldn’t make much sense considering that this is inspired by the Richard Dragon comics where Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, and Lady Shiva were a team. It should’ve focused on their dynamic if anything.
Half the movie was Batman or rather Bruce, the Flashbacks where all about him and his development and learning about his character. The stuff in the present I would say was more about the other three.
I wish they'd actually change up the animation style. They had the same style for like 15 years now it's insanely boring. Brave & The Bold was one of the few that had a unique style. Edit: i didn't know about the new superman animated movie. It looks a lot better.
While this style of animation is popular in many DC animated movies, there are movies like Under the Red Hood and Flashpoint Paradox that have better looking animation. I wish they would change it more often, but this is probably cheap and easy to do for the animators.
Batman is way oversaturated i guess DC forgot they have other characters...like superman and the rest of the DC universe along with over 80 years of material
That's how he is suppose to look going by the original novel. Richard dragon originally looked asian. Richard Dragon, Lady Shiva, and Bronze tiger were all novel characters before comic book characters.
@@giganticomega6821 I think they are more making a joke that Richard Dragon here looks like all the other fictional characters modeled after Bruce Lee. Which, honestly? I'm down with DC's canonically best MA fighter basically being Bruce Lee. Marvel already did that.
@@rubaiyat300 I'm hoping this eventually leads to a solo animated Richard Dragon film as he is seriously underrated I mean he's officially known in canon as the 2nd greatest martial arts master/hand-2-hand fighter in the DC Multiverse since technically number 1 in the rankings is Legion of Super-Heroes member Karate Kid. So a Enter The Dragon type movie that has Richard Dragon as the main protagonist I'd watch that.
@@giganticomega6821 Funny thought richard was a white ginger kid who tried to steal from O-Sensei and in the process got in a fight with Ben Turner(bronze tiger) but the fight was stopped because O-Sensei saw somthing in him and made him his third pupil..while bruce was never taught a damn thing by O-Sensei but they shoved him in the movie anyways 🤷♂️.
How's the fight choreography? Some of the DC animated films have truly excellent fights but these trailers dont lead me to believe this does which would be EXTREMELY disappointing given the whole martial arts theme.
@@derrickhaggard I agree with you. And if they decided to reimage him back into the original version from the comics (red headed blue eyed Caucasian) Chuck Norris should provide his voice to it.
@@kiranpunnoose2441 If they can somehow get Chuck Norris do the lead VA role do it especially if they have Richard's appearance in line with the comics, and not the OG Novel.
Lost me before the opening credits. They didn't even get the poker hands right (full house beats a straight, not vice versa). Also a parachute is something large, which looks like a backpack. You cannot just make a parachute appear out of thin air.
If we get a sequel please let don't put Batman in it. I want to see a animated Martial Arts movie from DC, and WB starring Richard Dragon heck the plot could be that one storyline form the comics where Richard takes on the martial artist crime lord Ricardo Diaz who goes around committing crimes, and becoming a enemy to Green Arrow using Richard's identity, forcing Richard to take on Ricardo to clear his name.
This movie captured the feel of Hanna-Barbera extremely well. That's not a bad thing as the whole Hanna-Barbera feel was warmly nostalgic. Here's to hoping that they encounter the Mystery Machine and the Scooby-Doo gang. Then they'll find out who this Naga guy REALLY is! LOL
I agree, Batman is not necessary for the story, I was hopping to see a remake of the Terrible Trio. On the other hand, this is a cartoon rather than a 3D animation, which is a huge asset for me. I watched this movie without expecting much, and actually I enjoyed it.
Victorian batman, ninja batman, Russian batman, old batman and now 70s batman. What’s next? Future batman with young Bruce instead of terry, or maybe a medieval batman vs jester joker.
People complaining Batman is weaker and that he shouldn't be in it don't get that this is about where he first picked up his martial arts skills so of course he won't be as skilled as he is known to be yet. If he started out as the best then he'd just be some Gary/Mary sue type character and people don't get that this is an homage to the Dennis O'Neil characters and period of Batman. It's about character development and canon wise Batman has always had trouble fighting Lady Shiva and Richard Dragon canon wise is considered one of the best fighters all of them are. Remember Bruce also has learned from other teachers like Ra's Ah Ghul so eventually becomes better then what he is now.
I liked it, reminds me a little bit of the Kill Bill series. Especially with the old martial arts master. Similarities, and he's drawn really well. I always thought the master in Kill Bill needed a better makeup job. But they're both all knowing, ect. Lol.
I agree this movie would be better if Batman wasn't in it you have three characters that could stand on their own and you can develop them more I think they just throw Batman in so people would watch it
to be fair this is the 1st time Richard Dragon was brought to the screen. Therefore, they will have to introduce him as a spin off to established xters like batman
It's weird seeing Richard Dragon who's a Red haired Caucasian in the comics being not only Asian but looking similar to Bruce Lee but then I remember the novel where the character made his first appearance had a cover where he was drawn to look similar to Bruce Lee.

Right? It should be full of more flashbacks, especially of after Nanda Parbat and Bruce’s continued training in other parts of the world. Also, Shiva moving to Gotham and why she chose the same city as her classmate.

I’m super happy they brought back Michael Jai White back as Bronze Tiger, as he played him in Arrow. He really is the one and only to play him.
He was in Brave and the Bold not voiced by him.
Didn't Bronze Tiger die in one of the Suicide Squad Movies?

Well if dc spent time developing other characters they would need to do that in my opinion.

And as far as Batman is concerned, their is always room to improve and there no shame in that.

I mean , even without batman , the movie would have technically been the same
Wouldn’t make much sense considering that this is inspired by the Richard Dragon comics where Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, and Lady Shiva were a team. It should’ve focused on their dynamic if anything.

If we get a sequel please let don't put Batman in it. It was a lot of fun. I love these Elseworld stories. My only issue is that Batman was barely in it.
LOL
Haha, agreed
***FOR THOSE WHO SEEN IT*** Is it worth watching? Doesn’t have the best ratings but love Batman
Elsewords are as DC Comics as Wally West being killed
Watched it last night. Gotta say it was off the chains. Hope there's a sequel soon
Oh I love it when reviews are written so poorly that they bring up 1 point twice, almost word for word. 🤦♂️😂😂
Anybody else like Patrick Seitz as Edmund Dorrance? Even if it was only for like 5 seconds

to be fair this is the 1st time Richard Dragon was brought to the screen. Therefore, they will have to introduce him as a spin off to established xters like batman
It's weird seeing Richard Dragon who's a Red haired Caucasian in the comics being not only Asian but looking similar to Bruce Lee but then I remember the novel where the character made his first appearance had a cover where he was drawn to look similar to Bruce Lee.

you’re not a real human
2:58 & 4:00 Lmfao. Someone is proud of a line that he had to fit it in twice.
It's almost like he didn't even read what he wrote lol
Honestly if I was to rate it on a scale 1 to 10 it would be a 5 1/2 Batman being the weakest link out of the four of them just didn’t make sense to me. since he has beaten every last one of them in the DC universe, not only that since when is Batman a killer? And not only that the whole Bruce Lee homage was kind of corny what was cool is it took place in the 70s.
Ah lady shiva, the deadliest martial artist in DC
It's richard dragon
I was happy to see King Snake as well.
@@NaViAgain-ts9lj Correct even in the recent comics both Batman, and Lady Shiva admits that Richard Dragon could beat the both of them by himself with ease. I mean there is a reason why Richard is officially known as the 2nd greatest martial arts master/hand-2-hand fighter in the DC Multiverse I mean in some storylines Richard Dragon is the guy who trained Batman, and Lady Shiva.
@@derrickhaggard who would be the first if you mind me asking?
@@OscarG787 Technically the number 1 ranked martial artist/hand-2-hand fighter in the DC Multiverse according to the canon is Legion of Super-Heroes member Karate Kid though some fans say Karate Kid has the unfair advantage of being from the future, and mastery of various alien martial arts including both Kryptoian martial arts.
Wait is it out ?😮
I thought it the end of DC animated universe
Coming soon is Justice Society: World War 2, and Batman: The Long Halloween.
Justice Society-World War 2 is okay.
A friend of mine has been rambling about the end of dc’s death metal. Is this movie part of that multi-web of infinite universes that my friend has been rambling about?
No if your friend rambling on about death metal it's a comic thing. Basically the comics are changing status quo for example a new justice league and the titans becoming an academy.
This movie just an original that does it's own thing like the other batman movies.
@@noctisluciscaelum211 Ah. Thank you for the information.
Batman "Must" be in every animated movie because nobody will watch it if not.
Tons of action, heads flying, cobra meets Batman , bruce Lee,
It was a nice movie, though I agree Richard Dragon could undergo more character development
I slept easily though 2/3 of this. Not the best work WB animation has did.
the film isnt out yet how did they do the rewive before the film come out.
5Movies tinklepad thank me later
you gotta admit that it had some amayzing music
Didnt like the ending but great movie. Didnt even need bats to put on his suit
anyone else confused by the ending or is it just me?
where can i watch this? specifically services provided in the UK
this channel is that one channel i dont watch unless im looking for that one specific thing but i do enjoy the content whenever i do watch one of their vids
Well said
Just one question why is Richard dragon asian isnt he a red head Russian
That true, because in the comics Richard Dragon is a red headed blue eyed Caucasian.
When he said Jim Kelly, I heard Gene Kelly and I was very confused what he had to do with Martial Arts movies hahaha
New52 Bruce wayne was way more handsome and manlier. I was thoroughly enjoying all the new 52 series.
Hi IGN
Next line up from WB/DC: ‘Mayan Batman Camazotz’ and ‘Medieval Batman the (literal) Dark Knight’
