Frame by frame, each trick was executed. It's called Tool-Assisted because they used tools to help speedrun the game in a way that's almost humanly impossible to do Something like that lol
It is so satisfying to watch Samus, after having no suit and just a stunner, unleash the unbridled wrath of God at 37:46. One of my favorite moments in video games.
One thing I wished about this cutscene is yo see that ray of light that starts at her feet transform her power ranger style that morphs her into her suit starting at her feet until her helmet. Would have been a cool touch.
To save the charge you have to shinespark horizontally into a slope; when you collide with a slope, you can go back into a run and then press duck again to save the charge.
It felt weird that a majority of the zero suit Samus section kept playing the space pirate mothership theme, I’m used to hearing that for only 20 seconds before a space pirate spots me
It isn't actually a computer. It's a human using a computer to go through one frame at a time and find an optimal strategy. It takes a lot of patience and hard work to make one of these, probably more than it takes to do a normal speedrun.

Dragonfangs should redo this with early ice beam and the bug clip. Not sure if it would get sub 1 hour but it would be close. Eagle's rta wr for this dropped dramatically with that route change
Michael Greene I don't think ice clip alone would justify a new TAS. However if Late Wave is tested to be an ultimately faster route or even just reverse speedboosting having enough applications to save a significant amount of time, we may see one eventually. Given the any% TAS was finished in June I think it'll be awhile

This is one of the most enjoyable tas'es to watch, this and Fusion. I am pissed i missed out on this game, i didn't even have a game boy advance. But seeing this tas, how many secret things there are that are so well hidden, i think it is best this way ^^ saves me money too.
I know, i tried it. But it just isn't as enjoyable as playing it on the original console and when it is released. But it was fun to play on emulator too.
I loved the transition from zero suit to fully equipped badassery where those lobster looking assholes basically become your bitches. The music is so fitting.

I didn't realize that getting to the Zero Mission is about halfway through the game's content. Stupid me for getting my power suit and leaving the planet!
What's wrong with the charge beam power up? Lots of Tas makers don't take it at first... Some of them forget about it completely... Is there any unspoken tradition among TAS makers about not picking basic power ups?

It's a bit lame that you don't have to pick the Varia Suit, but heh, it's not your fault. Impressive runs and the optimisations are so cool, but will surely go underappreciated as they are all about the small things. I loved that crazy full-speed space-jumping in Norfair, I actually laughed out loud >_>

Near the upper right of the map, you'll find a machine that requires you to Morph into it. Activating it will turn on the hook system!Do that and shoot any red glowing orbs you see. Then, a hook should zip to you. Just jump onto it, and you will automatically soar to the other side! And don't feel bad! I was confused about the same thing! Hope that helped!

So, I thought it would be cool to do a Metroid Zero Mission speedrun. I open up TH-cam and saw this video. I clicked on it and I think you know the end of the story.
Her job here was to hunt down the Metroids on the planet and stop Mother Brain, and she did that. The Space Pirates she fought afterward simply ambushed her after the mission was finished and destroyed her ship, so she had to fight her way through them and steal one of theirs. Naturally, she killed most of them on her way through their spaceship.
infinite walljumping is actually pretty easy to do with some practise, just like in super metroid However this is a TAS run (Tool Assisted Speedrun) Its not about refelexes and whatnot. Its about knowing the innerworkings of the game and code and trying to break it. It does not compete with normal speedruns. Its also pretty fun to watch

I could never do that saving the dash and then speeding through space stopping and saving the charge. How did he do that, or was that with tools?
It's called a Shinespark. It's when Samus crouches down while using the Speed Booster, then dashing in any direction, even in the Morph Ball!
