As for those technologies I am unsure about specifically but I think it involves things like rangefinders and firing director tech and less-so new weapons. Again I don’t know specifically but I know she was a test-bed! And she has a very unique design that is quite interesting!

You should have put a Heavy cruiser or a light cruiser (not Atlanta class) in that carrier task force, these cruisers could operate scout aircraft and scout the surroundings.

Yuubari seems to be a lucky ship in this mod. I engaged a task force that she was a part of several times with land- and carrier-based aircraft and she took two 1600 pound bombs, one torpedo, and several 1000, 500, 250 and 100 pounders and she still managed to survive as the only ship of that group.
Last episode was based (in game) on my birthday! And for this one the day after to show prospects of another carrier battle is just a wonderful bonus. Love your content and appreciate your hard work

You would be better served in surface actions with the _Line Ahead_ formation. Using _Battleline,_ the destroyers on the wings are always in the way, regardless of where you need to turn. Use _Line Ahead,_ and lead with destroyers. It just works better.
Please I beg you Wolfpack, when you want all of your units to stop firing use the little pluses (?) under the unit tab to select all units and then press "cease" under the orders menu, seeing you manually order every ship to cease fire every time brings me nothing but pain. And on the same note, if you want ships to just engage a single target select them from the menu, target the ship and press attack. I beg you
In my limited experience (vanilla only, not TTE), badly damaged ships get scuttled when their propulsion is completely out and the rest of the force is retreating. For example if you're only doing airstrikes, with no surface-action component, and the remaining enemy ships can continue on to their objective, nothing gets scuttled when you leave combat. not even ships doing single-digit speeds with a 'critical/heavy' damage combo.
So, with the allies in this game - What's the spread between US and Commonwealth ships? I know there's obviously at least a few British and a few Australian ones, but are there enough to feasibly conduct this campaign with majority Commonwealth warships?
The Commonwealth gets two heavy cruisers and two light cruisers. So I’d probably say you couldn’t conduct the campaign with a majority of commonwealth ships, although you could try. The Tokyo Express mod does add a few more cruisers to the roster, as well as several destroyers and a battleship, but base game best you got is those 4 cruisers.
I know its a bit early in the war, but do the enemy ever resort to kamikaze tactics? Given the amount of destruction you've wrought, I wouldn't be surprised if they're getting desperate.

No matter how hard I try to keep a reasonable distance in surface engagements I always seem to end up at 4000 yards are less. Pretty sure that wasn't standard proceedure but hey.
Do you have the beaufighters from the other airfield in New Guinea? Those are nasty at the head-on part of a dogfight if you just use them as heavy fighters.
@@Perkelenaattori oof, I know he's running a weird mod hybrid of the older version and newer ones. I've seen Beaufighters in his cooktown airfield, but in the newer versions there is a level 1 airfield on that eastern top of New Guinea. That airfield only has P40s, Beaufighters, and some bombers in small numbers.
If you bounce the bombs, would it not be better to have the planes in Line Formation, or let them act independently to gain a greater hit chance? As it seems the 2 Wingmen always drop their bombs incorrectly to bounce it into the target.
Do u ever do focused fire with all ur ships on one ship I’m on my first successful so far ply through and I find that sometimes when I make all my ships concentrate on one ships I get more hits and can at least disable their guns just curious
Hi everyone, I've a little problem. I've been started my first campaign, with IJN, and now I've the first naval battle of Guadalcanal. Then, my proposal it's to cross the T and use the Long lances... BUT, when I click on fire, in the torpedoes panel, nothing change. I used both manual and automatic fire, no torpedoes go in the sea. I tried on various ships, nothing. I'm a newbie of course, but in training the torpedoes go... What the problem?
Instead of individually clicking every ship to turn try clicking form up Abreast while doing a turn toward the enemy and all the ships will turn and be bow in toward them. Or use the red tabs in the roster or the ++ under the roster. You did read the manual ( do the tutorial) did you not.
i feel like, if you separated the formations on the A20's, one plane=its own formation will make them more precise while bombing the japanese, i could be wrong, but, its what i feel its better for the attacks
The good news is... when your magazines are empty, they are less likely to explode.
A interesting point - I wonder if the game accounts for empty magazines when calculating whether to have a magazine explosion...

That's Yubari. A light cruiser with 5.5" (140mm) guns. The torpedo hit her in the screws. That's why she's moving so slow. She's crippled.

I believe all the duds on heavy cruiser happened because of the angle being too shallow for the igniter/exploder to work.

He's not using subs in this campaign because he was so successful with them in the Japanese campaign. He's purposefully gimping himself this time.
