  • With a vitrectomy, small surgical instruments are used to enter the inside of the eye. Blood and scar tissue are removed, and a laser may be used to prevent further bleeding and abnormal blood vessel growth.     Depends on where you get this done or who does it. Here in the UK, I will be getting it done privately. I have been assured of a 3 to 4 month recovery.

    I have blurry vision. I don’t see facial features very well. I can’t read small print. Everything has to be large print.

    I don’t think I can go through surgery anymore. I’m 71 years old and probably at high risk
