    Have just had that surgery for a macular hole, and the worse part is the posturing required , mine was only three days . A week down the line and the gas bubble is way down in my line of sight.
    Looking forward to seeing much better than I did .😎🇬🇧👍

    This video is so old now, an update is needed. I'm having the surgery this week, hope there are no problems. The hole is small, just discovered it 4 months ago, when I got new glasses. I barely notice it. Hope I'm not rushing the surgery.

    Thank you.
    A vitrectomy (July 2020) helped repair a macular hole. My vision has improved. Slowly, but surely. It will probably never be what it used to be, but it's better.
    I had been on Tamoxifen for several years when it happened. Some of us apparently are more likely to have a macular hole from Tamoxifen, according to my oncologist. So, she took me off of it. I also had multiple head traumas as a rambunctious child.

      I know what you mean. You aren't alone on that. I had this surgery when I was your age (I'm 30 now). I also had two cataract surgeries since. I didn't feel a thing but I asked to be put under. Woke up groggy and had a headache.

    • @LesterMitchell
      @LesterMitchell 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@champiloutre Hey there sorry to hear that about your first surgery. If you've never had a vitrectomy it's not too bad. The part that's a bit lame is the home care instructions afterwards.
      Like keeping the head down. It's just annoying is all. Don't be scared 👍 Also cataracts are hit and miss. If you do end up having another they are easy enough to remove.
      I've had a few cataracts treated with laser. Quick and painless. My vision is a lot better, I still wear glasses but my vision is great. It's not perfect by any means but I'm grateful I'm not blind haha.

    • @MrSameerkhan51
      @MrSameerkhan51 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well although a 2 year old comment, let me tell you that this condition generally occurs in one eye, and most people can't afford this surgery, thus accept the vision loss on one eye. It's important to know if there're other risks if left untreated such as infections, pain and other complications.
