Watch the difference between regular soap and dishwasher detergents inside a running dishwasher. Shot in 4K.
Info: A regular wash cycle uses around 10 liter of water. I use a lot more when I'm cleaning my dishes by hand. ;)

I have always wanted to see the inside of a dishwasher in action. Thanks! But I am surprised by how gentle the water flows --- I always imagined a tornado of some sort with strong jets of water everywhere.

@@lust4lyfe101 No just don't. Unless it's an old model, most dishwashers nowadays already have a rinse cycle before the main wash (which is when the detergent is dispensed) and sometimes detergent enzymes will damage your dishes because of no food particles to desolve on .
Bassically only time you need rinsing is pots or pans that have reaaaally stuck on food but anything else is just a waste of time.

I don't understand why people are complaining it's a waste of water. As someone who constantly hand-washes dishes, I can say that having a big family wastes hours upon hours; not only this, but I'd assume that the amount of water I use to rinse every dish would amount to multiples of a dishwasher. The only thing being wasted is electricity, which could be spared for dishes. The risk of having badly washed dishes also is a possibility, but that can be solved by hand-washes the specific dishes that weren't thoroughly cleaned. Maybe you people should understand the importance of a technological innovation before commenting on how "wasteful" it is. That's the sole reason why humanity can run on efficiency.

Ran out of dishwasher tablets, so today filled the little compartment with lemon juice and then baking soda: this will fizz, then adding some clear shampoo (just a squirt) (a shampoo that I regularly use for washing dishes by hand due to being allergic (contact dermatitis) to dishwashing liquid and quickly closing the compartment (as otherwise it starts to spill out due to the fizz) and then starting the machine. Worked well. I think next time I might spray the dishes with lemon juice and sprinkle them with the baking soda and then put them in the machine and then add the same stuff as before or just shampoo to the compartment (but not too much).

I changed to the regular Finish that did not have Dawn in the pod and everything is fine. My dishwasher is new. It's an "ENERGY EFFICIENT" appliance and is probably a piece of shit as most "ENERGY EFFICIENT" appliances are. Even my ENERGY EFFICIENT shower head takes me twice as long to take a shower now.

I've never used a dishwasher until we bought one after the old one had to be replaced since it was leaving a bad smell because ours had to be drilled closed because the door would hand open. I have yet to use it but since I didn't know how, I looked it up. I too thought it was a waste and it was so much better to hand wash. I never liked hand washing just because I am more prone to be disgusted by leftovers and and dirty dishes, I've always been like that. I had to use gloves and it took me about an hour to wash all our of our dishes (we have a big family). It was a lot of water and it was kind of hard to completely take off the soap since my gloves were all soapy. I still haven't used my dishwasher but I can see it's so much better to use one. Now delicate items should be washed by hand. I also thought that you should pre rinse but also you're not supposed to do that. I'm just proving my point that dishwashers save more time and water.

One day, I can hear the vessles in my hand, quickly begging for great mercy as my mother calls me to wash her to-go dishes. The demonic screams and tear shuttered was evolving in to rage. I felt like throwing the plates on the floor like in the movies, but with Harden intentions. I wanted to present my mother a dearful suprise! noy one that cause her pain, but the one that makes her evening a living hell! My passion for my own parent to feel such pain on that current time was hotter and mightier than the sun intself! I promised my mom's soul that one day, one day she will feel my bloody wrath, that I, that persons son, will be the most devastating person she will ever know to exist in man kind! She will feel hell, and hell will be in my own hands, ready to be released at the right time, like a dog! My mother commited a sin that she must aotne.

@@stealthxg5045 dishwashing liquid soap (Dawn for example) should NEVER be put in a dishwasher under any circumstances. You will be left with a sudsy mess that will be incredibly difficult to clean, even if you just pour in a couple of drops. Also, dish soap is extremely ineffective compared to dishwasher detergent. Dishwasher detergent contains micro abrasives that clean dishes while dish soap relies on elbow grease (something a dishwasher doesn't have) to be the abrasive.

The worst thing is the regular soap I have is called Dishwashing Liquid. How can you call it that and expect me to know it is not for the dishwasher? Let's break it down. Dishwashing liquid= a liquid used for washing dishes. A dishwasher washes dishes. Hence, it would make sense to put that liquid in it. It should say Hand Dishwashing soap. That would tell me it is for washing dishes by hand. Or just say that on the front, for washing dishes by hand. Granted I should have looked on the back and read the directions, but when you call a product Dishwashing Liquid, I would not think to look on the back. I would think I know what it does. I almost made the mistake of putting it in there. If my mother had not been in the kitchen with me, well...

I'm sorry but that's not how it works, it's the liquid soap that should be made to make less suds if you just want to use liquid soap so much. Or you could use dishwasher soap, there's many options. They come in powder, liquid, tablets, or gel packs.

People want to do something else in their lives than constantly spending hours on doing chores everyday.
