Hello, I'm JoO Kitchen, a Korean TH-cam creator who runs '쭈방 JoO Kitchen' channel.
I'm glad that the dishwasher video, which was produced to solve my usual curiosity,
was suddenly chosen by the algorithm and many people all over the world watched it.
I'd like to briefly tell you why I'm making this dishwasher video.
This video was made to solve the curiosity of the dishwasher because I was curious about how it works inside.
A lot of people asked why we didn't use dishwashing liquid in the video was overwhelming.
I usually use a dishwasher detergent made of baking soda.
The chemical reaction caused by the meeting of detergent and hot water could damage the camera, so i couldn't use the detergent.
In addition, you must have been worried about wasting water.
In the case of a typical dishwasher, just like a clothes washing machine,
Cleaning is carried out by circulating using water supplied.
It is known that a relatively small amount of water is used compared to hand washing.
Of course, the washing power may vary depending on the shape of the bowl or where it is stored.
I think there may be insufficient cases when compared to hand washing :)
As I explained earlier, this is not a video for advertising kitchen appliances.
It's a content designed for those of you who are curious about the inside of the dishwasher.

For those who think the machine is using a lot of water, the dish washer actually pumps the water at the bottom tray back up to spray, and change the water for subsequent cycles.
So the dish washer is designed to use less water compared to hand washing dishes which involves rinsing each soupy dish under fresh running water.

nope it isnt that much water, you can see that the dishwasher has like a tub of water and keep pumping water and reuse it to clean dishes, so that amount of water could be about 3 kitchen sinks
For me washing dishes is such kind of calm activity, feel like you are in calm state. I enjoy do the dishes by hand and by myself.
But i understand this machine really help a lot of houses especially someone who has really busy schedule or has many people on household

Dishwashers are essentially fountains that spray water from a pool of fixed amount of water. The main cleaning action of a dishwasher is done by soap and heat. Heating improves the cleaning action of the water jets and the soap takes care of the oils and food particles. I suggest you watch a video from a youtube channel called "Technology connections".
Dishwashers, like washing machines, are extremely efficient in using water. The downside is that it uses electricity. But if you are hand washing a lot of utensils and dishes, you will end up using the same amount of electricity or even more since that water from the tap has to be constantly pumped and that pump does not run on magic.
The upside is that it frees your time from doing dishes/washing clothes so that you can focus that time doing something else.

평소 궁금증을 풀기 위해 제작했던 식기세척기 영상이 갑자기 알고리즘의 선택을 받고 많은 분들이 봐주셔서 기뻐요.
이에 본문에서는 자막이 필요하지 않은 영상이었다보니 부족한 내용이 있어 추가로 안내드리려고 해요.
제가 이 식기세척기의 영상을 제작하게 된 이유를 간략하게 말씀드리자면
식기세척기가 내부에서 작동하는 모습이 궁금해 그 호기심을 해결해보고자 만든 영상입니다.
이에 많은 분들께서 왜 영상에서 주방세제를 사용하지 않았냐는 댓글이 압도적으로 많았는데요.
평소 저는 베이킹소다로 만들어진 식기세척기 전용세제를 사용하고 있거든요.
이 때 세제와 온수가 만나면서 생기는 화학반응으로 인해
카메라에 손상이 갈 수 있을 것을 우려해 본 영상에서는 세제를 사용하지 못했습니다.
덧붙여 물을 낭비하는 것이 아닌가에 대한 걱정도 많이 하셨을텐데요.
일반적인 식기세척기의 경우는 의류 세탁기와 마찬가지로
급수한 물을 이용하여 순환하는 방식으로 세척이 진행되기 때문에
손설거지에 비해서 상대적으로 적은 양의 물이 사용된다고 알려져 있습니다.
물론 세척력의 경우는 그릇의 형태나 수납되어 있는 위치에 따라 달라질 수 있으므로
손설거지와 비교 시 부족한 경우가 발생할 수 있다고 생각합니다 :)
앞서 말씀드린 것처럼 이 영상은 주방가전을 광고하기 위해 만든 영상이 아니라

I wipe all my dishes down with water before loading into my dishwasher, and I also ALWAYS use soap in my washer. My rice always comes off. I don't know anyone who just tossed dirty dishes into their dishwasher without at least wiping them down first.
I like how ppl are saying this despite that the video is Korean. Plus, rice gets off easy af w/ the dishwasher.
They also sell special detergent for dishwashers. We didn't see that in the video

Seriously add a little bit of dishwasher in a plate with water and let it sit. Come back in a few minutes and all the rice grains will rinse off. After that place in the dishwasher for a real wash and that's it.

here we are talking of saving water and electricity but why dishwasher is popular in many households, because it saves their time. If a person hosts up to 4 or more guests for dinner, or has a lot of visitors around this will be useful. Unless meal tradition is a one dish all-share serving! 😊 I personally find washing my dishes better because research has shown it boosts your productivity and motivation levels. Of course not everyone loves to do the washing up, at first it does start off lazy and meh but after your result is a sparkling clean plate- well you be the judge 🍽💫

I don't get why Asian people are afraid it might not do a good job cleaning the dishes. As an Italian, we often bake foods with cheese, pasta, rice and whatnot but our dishwashers can handle them without any issues nor the need of prerinsing

@@jvprmsl that is if you barely wash it. Regular dishwashers are limited (by the government) to only use 5 gallons max per load. That is 5 gallons per 20-30 dishes excluding spoon, forks, and knives. A person runs new water for every new dish which is why the estimated average water consumption for hand washing is 27 gallons. To make a long story short, modern dishwashers can save 5,000 gallons a year on average.

Actually, dishwashers are a better way to save water. It makes sense because you would essentially be using the same amount of water to clean 20-30 dishes in contrary to constantly running new water for the same amount of dishes.
sabhoe Have you ever washed dishes by hand before? There's literally no reason to keep the tab running, you soap it up THEN run the water to wash the soap off. Dishwasher seems like an awful waste of water.
