Iconic bike. I own a 91. Owned it for 25 years now. These bikes are where it all started for the superbikes. Great video.
That is so true Joe, I definitely feel the same , this is where it all started , I think this is the hyper bike from it's era , there was nothing like this , especially the 1100, so much power and charisma and its so so nimble, thanks for the lovely comment
Correct. I will never sell mine. All.my kids know not to even ask to ride it. Lol. You have a great one there for sure. It is priceless.
@@joechancio5177 haha , that’s a quirky funny little comment there Joe, love it lol
Rarely do sportbikes and pubs go together but one must make an exception here.
I couldn’t agree more
Unfortunately it’s been controversially demolished
You might know already
Great video and lovely GSX-R Slingshot. This was my dream bike as a kid.
Thank you very much
Same here :)
Love these bikes !! Growing up my dad had one of these and that’s where the addiction started !! What a beautiful bike mate !!
Thank you mate, those twin headlights just simply do wonders for me. I just truly love the look.
I just got my 750 in the blue and white hyper graphics, what a piece of art
many congratulations, love that livery, enjoy the bike mate , its glorious
@@ChasingTenths thanks mate,i might need the name of that parts store from japan, she needs a bit of swaps on the nuts and bolts
@@prljevi88 it’s all done through Suzuki classics in U.K. mate
They have a direct contact with Japan
Stunning machine. Thank you for making this vid.
No problem Neil, a bit long than I wanted it to be but I have some more videos coming on this bike this spring
Thanks for watching
It’s a fantastic machine and you’re a lovely person.
Thanks Ian, that’s very very kind of you :)
What a lovely example of the Slingshot... I think it is awesome that Suzuki support their older bikes to help keep them on the road.
That’s really really well said mate, I definitely think the classic vintage part scheme is so well thought
Another great video Abi and what a fantastic machine ! So glad you found her.
Thanks Harvey, very nice words there from you mate, thanks for the appreciation
Beautiful bike, painting one for a customer just now in that scheme🤙 Sad about the crooked house 😞 Hope you get justice for what happened to it👊
Cheers Callum, much appreciate it mate
Hope the bike turns out to be a beauty
Was meant to be, another great video.
Thank you mate , totally appreciated
Abhi that's an absolute peach, what a find!!! Can't believe it's the same bike that's in the magazine!!! Enjoy my friend it's gone to a good home 😁🏍️👍🏻 and as always, thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you Gareth, I knew you would truly appreciate this one. I tend to make less videos about me and what I have but when I do they tend to do well. lol . I love this bike too , I hope I can keep it pristine
Soundtrack is perfect.. so’s the bike
mate, you wouldn't believe, sometimes I take upto 2 to 3 hours just searching for intro music and Outro music, cheers for watching
That’s beautiful man
thanks very much mate
1989GSXR 1100 nice 👌
Thank you boss
Wow. Just wow
Thank you 😊
A stunning machine Abhi. So glad that you managed to land your dream bike.
Thanks very much David, very nice of you to comment , much appreciated
Emma always goes on about that book, some of it rubbed off on me as you can tell 😄
Beautiful mate 😎
hahaha , true mate , as you can tell , I never read that book but I watched an hour's documentary on it, I am more of a visual person , but you definitely are the living modal of that book
Lovely GSXR 1100K, the first of the 1127cc motors.
You were trying to remember Yoshimura Duplex exhaust 😊
thank you very much, thats it!!! DUPLEX , I keep forgetting that , thanks for the reminder
Beautiful. I had a 1991 GSXR 750 M (Last of the oiled cooled gen) Now I have a 1992 GSXR 750 WN which I've owned from new. Love the older gixxers.
That’s lovely Adrian, honestly I have not ridden the 750 1992 but I have heard great things about them
Really nice machine. Had the 750 slingshot now have a 1983 cb1100f. Love classic bikes
Wow , that’s lonely , really nice two bikes there mate
Another great vid Abhi👍the Suzuki is stunning I love the old classics, we need to get the chaps together with some of our special machines. That will be a good laugh and a good video along the way. Stay safe and keep on filming.
That is a superb pointer there , we do have some superb machines amongst us , would love that.
@@ChasingTenths 👍❤
Just in the process of getting my own dream bike (again) but it's going to need a bit of work to bring it back to launch spec. I just realised I was last at that pub 38 years ago, and now I am too late to revisit!
I am gutted for you, but Atleast you got to see the pub .. it’s so sad what’s happened , it’s only 6 miles from me , I miss it … I really hope you get that dream bike sorted to the T
You will absolutely love it 😊
Reminds me of taking photos at Clive Castledines in Leicester as a kid. Just the Blue scheme (mid dark blue) looks amazing. Fantastic bike...
I actually had to google Clive Castledines lol.. nice dealership not far from me , only an hour or so.... thanks for the lovely comment :)
Great to see another one Surviving Still a damn good bike to ride I have a 1988 1100 j black and gold 152,000 klms and owned for 24 years
Absolutely Scott, I made a video yesterday on me passing my race license on this bike, it’s absolutely brilliant on track , really compliant and light weight and changes direction quickly
Absolutely Scott, I made a video yesterday on me passing my race license on this bike, it’s absolutely brilliant on track , really compliant and light weight and changes direction quickly
Well done on getting your race license I had the GSXR on track once and loved it My engine is still standard except for a exhaust, Dyna coils and ignition and Kein CR race carbs Your comment about them being light is the key My model only makes about 130 horsepower but it only weighs about 190kg without the big heavy standard muffler and exhaust system You will find on track the old GSXR is still a force to be reckoned with They are 100 percent reliable capable of big mileage/klms
@@scottarmbruster7759 absolutely well said that , I totally agree, the power to weight ratio is sublime. It’s so docile and manageable, doesn’t tie you up in notches . Really nice bike and you are right that it wouldn’t be a slouch with modern day bikes even , it’s really nippy, I was flying that day and it kept giving me boost of confidence
What a beauty!! You deserve way more subs!!! keep at it bro its only time bfore it takes off!
Thanks mate, Subs aren't a huge huge deal to me (secretly they are lol) , but I think what I love is people who are true bikers commenting on the videos , thats just amazing
@@ChasingTenths now Alberto has left bikes for good the gap is there. I really miss his bike content, take it and own it dude you defo got it!
@@ROCKETRALPH you know what Ralph , I am a huge Alberto fan but since he went blond or white with his hair and started doing more and more cars , I totally went off him and I miss the old Naska, the humble beginnings, the ever learning guy and giving information. Awesome video. They don't make them like the used to!
exactly , well said that , while making this video I realised how much of this bike is an out and out race machine, cheers matey
@@ChasingTenths Absolutely...this is when it took real guts to ride these things to their limit. No electronic aids...just raw power
Very impressive. Nicer than mine.
Thank you very much , I am sure yours is stunning too
Really nice Bike Abhi! Congratz on it. You have really stunning bikes! And the condition of those bikes are next level. Just wow. The Bike is older than i am, but i appreciate things like this so much that people have so much love and dedication for classic cars or bikes. Do you try to someday get the swingarm to the original look or do you leave it as it is? On this bike it really fits it next to this exhaust.
Hey Steffen, lovely comment mate, thank you. Truly appreciated. I will leave the swingarm as it is, looks slightly American with that chrome lol but it matches the exhaust , I am not that much of a purist or fussy lol.
Thanks for watching my friend
Great bike
Have a good one
Thank you very much
I owned a 93 ,love the gixxers
They certainly are stunning mate for sure
I’m glad to see that although you got such a pristine machine you haven’t just stuck it in your garage under wraps 😁 I got myself a 1997 Yamaha Thunderace in January because it’s from the era after I stopped riding and before I returned in 2007. I wanted to see what I’d missed out on. Great fun and no rider aids, perfect 👍 I enjoy your vids and hope you enjoy your Slingshot
I try to ride it as much as possible along with the others but I have such a heavy hand
I Keep riding as if My bum is on fire
I need to slow down lol
Thanks for appreciating it Mark
I had to look upto Yamaha thunder ace
Wow
What a lovely machine
@@ChasingTenths I always why have a litre bike if you’re not going to use the power. Nothing wrong with giving them the beans now and then 😁 The Thunderace came after the FZR Exup and before the R1 so is very over shadowed. Luckily that makes them great value too 👍
@@markpearce5793 really good points well made
I have one. 89 1100 with old Vance & Hines pipe sounds like no other bike
Wow that’s lovely , unfortunately mine is a bit quieter , I would love a double exhaust yoshimura system which is louder rather than this single exhaust system but it will do for now
Nice beauty, soon I will take mi classic wing out, might do ride to see this place. All best
thank you very much mate, it's definitely the weather to take that bike out for sure

I know mate , it's so so sad. Lets hope there is some justice , its really sad circumstances at the moment

Thank you all the way
Btw, did you make a review about your triumph 900
Thank you very much , truly appreciate your support and kind words, yes, I have made a 30 min documentary on that triumph , it's in collaboration with triumph official , here is the link for your convenience th-cam.com/video/VdipqFXikIs/w-d-xo.html
I sold my Blue GSXR1100 [ I was in Classic mechanics readers bikes with it]. I had owned the bike for 14 years , and sold it to gain the money for a 1050 Triumph speed triple. Once i had the Triumph I soon missed owning the gsxr1100 and realised I had made a mistake. I purchased a slingshot 750 to do up [ Im just doing that now ] but I was still missing my slabside 1100. In the end i sold the Triumph but had to pay 7k for another slabsider 1100 [ Black and gold ] the model I had always wanted. See my videos all this is as said but that magazine you are holding I bought that too back then. The classic motorcycle mechanics mag i was in was the june mag with the gold laverda bike on the front the secret book is working such wonders right now.
Wow mate
That’s amazing
What a true passionate person you are , it’s good that you went and re bought what you missed

Pouquíssima quilometragem
Posso mostrar vídeo e fotos dela.Estou vendendo
Still Got my 95,,,still scares the shix out of me sometimes
It’s an unbelievable machine
Very race focused and got plenty of poke, so glad you still kept yours :)
The bike is absolutely beautiful. I have the 750 slingshot on my bike to acquire list wanting the same color scheme. Just a great all around bike and story that goes with it.
I would love the 750 Slingshot but in Yoshimura red and black colours. But I think I will file bankruptcy soon after that lol. so I will say I am content with this.
Siempre Bella
Thank you very much
Hi where did you find the yoshimura exhaust for that model, me and 6 years looking for it
Hi Marco, the exhaust came with the bike, I have the original but the previous owner had this already , it’s not a very loud exhaust, I would prefer a double Yoshimura exhaust on it but a bit louder. But the present exhaust has superb built quality
wow
Thanks again :) .. every time I see this bike in the garage , I say wow too lol
@@ChasingTenths It is better than new, these were rare on the streets when i was a teenager, my buddy had the 750 which I lusted after.
@@vector409 Spot on that , the more I am around these old bikes the more it makes me feel that how close they made this machines to true racing machines, not much difference in them and what people like Carl Foggy and Jamie Witham rode.
Shame its not a 1990, upside down fork model.
But, its nice.
I know mate , I have 3 other bikes with upside down forks so for me this one is a little different , but I agree upside down forks are a bit more sexy depending on one's views
The 1100L also got the 5.5" rear wheel and a longer swing arm.
Is that the pub that got torched by the gipos.
Yes mate, spot on that unfortunately and sadly
Surprised that you have only got 130 bhp with a full Yoshi as mine has a stock 4 into 2 and I’ve got 132 on the Dyno on mine.
Also Suzuki Classic parts are alright but there are a bit hit and miss with availability.
Hey mate, the dyno used for the bike is a British superbike standard dyno so it’s very very strict , not a single horsepower outside what it should be, I think the previous owner was mainly looking for optimum fuel air ratio but keeping power manageable on roads, the HM Dyno guys could have easily got more out of it , about 8 more I was told but they didn’t want to stress the engine and other bits. And you are spot on about Suzuki parts , especially since covid , it’s been a bit hit and miss
@@ChasingTenths Fair enough mine was done by Dynotech down in Hampshire and they are also very good setting these up. Also my bike has only done 15000 miles so the engine may be a bit tighter as well. I also got the suspension set up properly and it’s made a world of difference to the handling.
Is your bike still running the 160 rear tyre or has it been changed to a 180?
The worst thing about this bike is my Triumph Daytona T300 gets left in the garage as the GSXR’s are just that much better to ride.
What year is this 1,100??
First Registered September 1989 in U.K. on the log book
Wonder why it has the wrong swing arm fitted? Chain adjusters are different, look more like 750k swing arm. I had a black/silver 1100 K brand new in 89', still have an L model.
wow really, honestly I have no idea if its the correct swingarm , all I know that a lot of work was done by Suzuki classics, I will get in touch with the previous owner for clarification on this.
@@ChasingTenths Yep, it's definately the wrong arm,1100 K, L, M and N arm have a cast machined welded end with a stud sticking out , the chain adjuster has a nut that threads on. Have a Google, yours looks like a 750k arm with the seperate loose end cap. Someone may have fitted a shorter 750 arm to speed up the handling? 👍
@@ChasingTenthssomething else, on the swing arm pivot, L/H side, does it have a castalated insert in the frame under the swing arm pivot head? If so it's not a K frame, at least not a UK frame. The K frame didn't have the insert, this meant that the frame was pulled in slightly when the pivot bolt was tightened, Suzuki changed the design on the L model, this used a threaded insert that was tightened against the arm before the pivot spindle was tightened.
@@andicog i honestly don’t have an idea on that, I have sent this info to the previous owner
Let’s see what he says
@@ChasingTenths as I said, take a look on Google re the swing arm 👍
I will buy one and ride it into the grave ride it everyday to commute to work
Good man 🙌🏽
@@ChasingTenths there's more parts available for these over the rf900 so can literally get new carbs, pistons etc for the gsxr1100
@@SlickMotoMike i totally agree mate, and also the engines are bulletproof plus Suzuki classics parts programme keep everything for them
@@ChasingTenths most definitely most reliable motorcycle across the range sport, sport tourer, adventure, streetfighter etc and they never seem to disappoint even custom builds with suzuki just don't stop. The struggle will be finding the right insurance policy to insure such an old bike.
I've no intention of being rude whatsoever, so forgive me please; what range of dollar value can you expect to pay for a bike of this vintage and this condition? I have no idea.
That’s ok, it’s not rude , $8500 to $9500 USD for a pristine condition like that, in this current market .
@@ChasingTenths Wow, I would have thought $25K. Beautiful. Really, a piece of history for those that came of age in the 80's.
@@darthnatas953 I totally agree , thank you for watching and the appreciation
Original my @r5e! First 2 seconds and I can see it's a pre'90 750 swingarm, completely different to the 1100.
Do some research mate before speaking carp.
What’s carp?
I think you didn’t watch the video properly, it’s my first ever Slingshot , and I don’t really know the finer details , and this video isn’t a review , all I am trying to say is what I know from the previous owner , that’s it. I learn a few things as I go along , that was my first week of ownership. If this was a review then I would understand your poorly worded comment but it isn’t a review.
It's very clean mate and looks great but I'm just telling you the swingarm is quite different to the original when you said it was all original. Chase it up, I'm sure you can find one to replace it. btw chrome and polished aluminium are quite different.
Just sayin'.@@ChasingTenths
@@robertoburromiapanino2659 thank you, now I love your comment lol .. honestly, hand on heart , I am not sure about this . You are the second person who has told me this , I will be taking the bike to Suzuki classics and have it checked out and if it’s the case I will surely be replacing the swingarm to the original spec or if I can find a Suter or a Yoshimura racing version then even better but thanks for pointing it out Roberto.
Make sure you get the correct one, they are unique to the 1100K and getting scarce, they were regularly replaced with the 60mm longer item from the LMN models when the problems were really shock and fork related. If you want to know anything about oil cooled gsxr's, add a comment, too many bullsh**ters out there.@@ChasingTenths
At least you can run it and let people listen to the sound of the engine and the exhaust. you wasted our time
Mate, I clearly mentioned in the video , I am in a quite & scenic place and they gave me special permission to film there, there was no way I was going Rev the bike there and disrespect their permission . And this clearly wasn’t a review . Sorry if you think your time was wasted but I did mentioned on the video I wasn’t going to do sound and ride. You should have switched off the video at that point , would have saved you some precious time
