Hm. A fleeting pause, to catch one’s breath in surreality, before the ice cold plunge back into the bloody horror picture show that is reality. By and by, it led to true peace. Touching.
I feel as if mr Rabbit was so encouraging to the human because of his own anxiety, self-doubt and shame. They're pretty alike in that. He told him to go and fight because that is what he believes he himself should be doing, what he wants, the great solution for both of their problems. Turns out, mr Rabbit looked too inside his shame to realize that the human should ditch this crappy knight dignity if only to at least /survive/, which is more important. Well, it should be more important. There's another side to this, i suppose. Whether that was all in vain or not... it's a thing that depends on each person. Some can conclude that Yeah this war fucking sucks -- or be raised wanting to be a knight, dying a knight and feeling fulfilled by it. They were happy with their decision by the end. So, bunbun probably did help them, besides the death.
maybe im just to hardened or something...but, i'm not agreeing on the "with a dark twist" description for the game. I was more expecting the guy to kill the rabbit or the rabbit being a eldritch abomination... ...that probably is a clearer sign of what we expect "dark twist" to be vs what the dev thinks. ...poor dev is too wholesome...keep them away from Charon games.
The rabbit being so oblivious to the terrible role he played in all of this is so eerie. In his mind it was the most noble thing to do. But he did not have the mind for the scope of what transpired: nor did he understand how miniscule the role was that the boy played in all of it. I fear we have played the role of the rabbit more often than we think. And like him we are oblivious to it.
I think the "moral" behind this is to accept one's faith and face it with some sort of gracefulness. After enlist in the military and being sendto the battlefield, after one week of training, he would have died either way. If being killed by war or being executed. Even if he didn't enlist and the war went on it would have become an obligation to enlist. It's like the Rabbit said, you can't life in fear and be anxious all the time, even if death is in clear sight, because in the end you never know when your time is up.
I think this is just about how a little animal next to you can ease your loneliness and allow you to not feel unimportant and gaint confidence in yourself and your choices. I have a cat and a guinea pig and when I feel sad and lonely, they make me feel loved and help me get back up.

I was thinking too much that the boy was in pain because he was on a mission to fight Mr. Rabbit's kingdom and had to assasinnate Mr. Rabbit. But this ending was so sad....yet a bit relieved...What is this funny feeling? 😭
Love how the start with the rabbit is basically implying humans are not something natural.. You are also very correct in the fact that one of the big reasons why humans, more specifically, men, had short lives was due to war. Lack of knowledge in regard to work safety, safety of the very objects used for everyday life, medicine, proper sanitation/hygiene, ect, ect... Took their bites as well of course...
I think it's great that art can be interpretive, but damn, I just cannot see this story as anything but uplifting. I don't know what you guys are going on about down here.
I think this might have the potential to be slightly darker as well; there is the possibility that he was fragged (the deliberate killing or attempted killing by a soldier of a fellow soldier, usually a superior officer or non-commissioned officer). As is the plot of the story, the kid "skipped" the first battle by staying at home (out of legitimate fear and such of dying, respectable). At the same time, the rest of his unit (whatever size formation that may be, small or large) went off to battle and suffered casualties; unlike the rabbit, these soldiers wouldn't have the context and would most likely see the kid as having had a state-sponsored vacation while they went off to die. The kingdom seemingly didn't press any form of criminal charges on him. The sword was thrust into his back from an elevated position, seein' as how the angle is overall downwards. I think one of his fellow knights might have grabbed him, kicked his legs out from under him, and ran him through in the fog of battle. Ultimately leaving him to bleed to death. In a state of blood loss-induced delirium, the kid limped back to Mr. Rabbit for comfort. I think he ultimately chose to return to Mr. Rabbit because he subconsciously knew he was dying even through the delirium. I don't think he wanted his previously mentioned mother to see him like this, broken and bloody. She probably didn't even want him to leave for the war. He didn’t trust his fellow soldiers if this scenario occurred, as I described. The kingdom's physicians were unlikely to save him (Medieval setting, no mentioned mages or other magical stuff besides the most likely eldritch Mr. Rabbit). That small plot of land was his ideal death bed. His family would remain unscarred from his current state, most likely being found by a stranger later or left to rot and be used as fuel for the surrounding landscape and leaving only non-descript armor as a grave marker. It was a lovely warm sunny day. The surrounding trees provided comforting shade from the sun for his last moments. A gentle steam surrounds him on all sides to provide a comforting lullaby for his imminent death. And, I'm assuming the grass was nice and soft since he seemed fond of the general area and laying on it. Finally, Mr. Rabbit seemed to serve as a somewhat pseudo father figure, calm, comforting, trustworthy, and more than willing to lend an unbiased ear to an utter stranger of a complete and utter different species (at least at first, they've clearly met before). Mr. Rabbit, Eldritch deity in disguise or not, was probably his closest confidant and friend, the one person he'd genuinely want to watch over him so that he could go peacefully into whatever lay beyond. I'm also pretty sure Mr. Rabbit, regardless of origin/nature, genuinely cared for the boy; the boy may even be the sole reason for his impossible "humanity". We've got no backstory for Mr. Rabbit, so I can't say for sure. However, I’m of the opinion that a MUCH younger version of the kid may have found him in the woods when the being that would become "Mr. Rabbit" first spawned into existence, and like a fine clay, the kid left a definite mark on the Eldritch Rabbit's soul. I mean, the kid did seem to have grown up in the general area, Is the outdoorsy type, and the name “Mr. Rabbit” does seem awfully like something a child would give to a pet and had probably stuck as a moniker before Mr. Rabbit started talking like a human. I also have another spin-off, even darker theory as if the one above wasn’t enough. I think he may have also been executed as a deserter Instead of simply fragged during a battle. It was said that he was GIVEN his armor, implying they are responsible for the care and upkeep of their own equipment instead of specialized personnel. His overall equipment is reminiscent of line infantry and is likely cheap since they were GIVING them out; even his helmet looks based on a Ketel Helm. I think he might have donned his equipment and walked straight into his Kingdom’s local camp to report for duty, subsequently getting Jumped (I doubt they were situated in a fortress since context deems, they were on the offensive, and the war seems more mobile based on equipment choice). I think he fought tooth and nail but ultimately got dragged down by injury and circumstance. He got fatigued; fighting multiple opponents is tough. Two lucky blows from the various assailants in the camp managed to pierce his cheaply made chest plate, causing internal injuries, at least judging by the narrow bleeding slits on the front of the plate. He got shoved from behind, tumbling to the ground judging by the addition of a scuff mark on his breastplate. I think they started curb stomping and kicking him like a bunch of thugs; there are multiple dents and scuff marks all over the kid, especially to the helmet and head; the kid is also bleeding from the head and further supports some blunt force trauma at this point. He was also limping pretty severely, suggesting damage to the legs, likely blunt as well, and causing one of them to be broken or fractured enough to impair movement. I would also include the dried blood around the mouth, but the two frontal stab wounds and the final impalation from behind could have caused it as well, so I’m giving it an honorable mention; though I personally think it might be from broken ribs puncturing a lung. After having fun beating a teenager to the point of near-death, I think one of his fellow knights grabbed him by the back of the neck and yanked him up with enough force to rip the fabric at the scruff of his neck. This person was likely a superior officer. I'm also pretty sure this individual was wearing a gauntlet/mitten since I don't see what else would rip and STRETCH the fabric in the manner seen and cause surface-level bleeding. After yanking the kid up into a kneeling position or suspending him halfway off the ground, they ran him through to the hilt with a sword that was left embedded in the kid. From this point, they either tossed the kid into the woods for the local wildlife to feast on or left him where he lay, knowing that the kid was either already dead or in the process of bleeding to death. Cue the second half of the first scenario playin' out with the exception of the kid lyin' about the origin of his injuries as not to have Mr. Rabbit blame himself more. I got to say, out of all the horrible, utterly horrific ways to die, layin' in softly swayin' grass on a beautiful day under the watchful and loving gaze of an oddly parental eldritch god isn't one of the worst ways to go.....sort of sweet actually. Probably one of the better ways, in all honesty. Everybody in that universe better start prayin' though; it's not wise to forcefully rip away a son from his father. Especially when the father is an eldritch horror, they are generally not forgiving/merciful. tl;dr Eldritch Adoption, Fragging, and Execution. Oh my!
As soon as the kid started talking about how he felt, I started tearing up, cause I know exactly how they felt and the rabbit too. I had a feeling the kid was going to die, also something must have happened to them before, it’s not normal to have such extreme thoughts over being nervous, their mental health certainly wasn’t very good. I understand being scared to go into battle, but wishing to die because you feel like a coward is pretty extreme. They really were just meat to the grinder and that’s so sad….

I actually like this. The young man knew he had done a cowardly act. He also repented of that, and faced his punishment, and fought for his country and came home proud. Maybe laid his life down, for his country and his family, but gave the ultimate sacrifice. It's the real world. Very nice.
It doesn't appear to me that he considers his life "thrown away." Though he may not have it anymore, what did he get in exchange for it? Did his sacrifice help turn the tide of battle? Did he save any of his comrades' lives? Has his country resisted invasion from and subjugation to another country? Are his family and friends made safer, perhaps richer, as a result? The choice which allows you to keep your own life is not always the best one to make. Not if you consider other people and/or God and/or moral principles and/or other such things to be worth more than your life. Life isn't just for living, if that makes sense.
@@tt-cy1hb Using logic, his life was probably thrown away because he barely had any training nor preparation. A true knight should have way more time to train and start as a squire following a veteran knight to experience what being into a real battlefield is like and how to wear/use armor and weapons strategically. That wasn't right nor fair. I understand what you say to 'live a life', but what if someone were manipulated all along by their country and indirectly by their parents though education so they could plant inside what is to 'live a life and be happy' without the person 's consent? Would that be fine by you to be happy 'artificially'? To be brainwashed? People are saying the MC had a choice and debating if he choose it right, but I'm saying that he didn't had a choice from the very beginning because he was guided into that bad situation (yea, guilt also kills a lot, so I felt that couldn't end well at that point). The rabbit encouraging him was just the top of the iceberg. We ofc don't know the MC 's back story but you are throwing things up so I can do the same.
@@Willowisp927 There's always a choice. We are not mere products of the conditions of our births and our environments. We always have the ability to form our own conclusions and to say "no" to the manipulator, even when the consequences are dire. @@tt-cy1hb So you are assuming the MC is an adult because he simply hit 'the age to serve' and that he has a healthy brain? If so, that's where we disagree. I believe being an adult is much more than that and I don't think that person is fine mentally. He is heavily burdened by something he knows that will kill himself and yet, he can't avoid it because he fears his other 'choice' will be much worse. In other words, it's either die faster or die suffering. I disagree that this is a choice since his outcome will be death anyway. By the way, since you mentioned a healthy brain, I won't even mention situations where your birth and conditions define your 'choices' and what you are for the rest of your life (assuming you agree that suiciding isn't really considered a choice, if that's possible) since we agreed on that.
@@tt-cy1hb And by the way, if you were kidnapped someday, (assuming that you an healthy adult) randomly and woke up almost totally and physically paralyzed (you can only nod or shake your head slowly) and a serial killer asked you: "Hey, either I kill you with a knife or by shooting you in not a specific part of your body. If you don't choose in several seconds, I will choose for you.". Do you believe this a choice? If your answer is YES. @@coaiemandushman1079 I think we all did, friend.
Just a family friendly game where no horror or monster bun bun tries to kill you
Literally
I like how you gave the rabbit such a noble sounding voice.
Mister Rabbit is so wholesome he should put in jail for being too adorable.
Who is that in your profile picture?
@@ashlirabid9614 Right now it's Aya Drevis from Mad Father.
Who else just regained their love for every single bunny they've ever seen
maybe im just to hardened or something...but, i'm not agreeing on the "with a dark twist" description for the game.
I was more expecting the guy to kill the rabbit or the rabbit being a eldritch abomination...
...that probably is a clearer sign of what we expect "dark twist" to be vs what the dev thinks.
...poor dev is too wholesome...keep them away from Charon games.
@Grima the Fell Dragon yeah...but that doesn't change much on my thoughts.
The rabbit being so oblivious to the terrible role he played in all of this is so eerie.
In his mind it was the most noble thing to do. But he did not have the mind for the scope
of what transpired: nor did he understand how miniscule the role was that the boy played in all of it.
Bro, I kinda like this game because it makes me feel like I'm not the only one getting shit from everyone
When you have friends that in the shit like you, you can support them and they going to support you
You’re out of your fucking mind if you ever think you’re alone in being judged.
Thanks guys, it's just me feeling put my 13 year stay at my same school, and me waking up to the stupid policies and rules
The art looks so good!
Take a sip on every time Manly says "bun" in this video
There’s one where he says bun almost the entire video
I can't stop snickering
These two proving that sometimes, you can make the right choices and still lose.
I would love to have this type of comforting relationship with my own rabbit but alas, he doesn't like me.
Also he can't talk
Less of a bloody twist and more of an obvious bloody outcome.
Also, not a knight.. just a soldier.
as expected manly's titles are always trustworthy!
I noticed something at 10:38 when the dialogue box dissappears.
Is that... a sword through the knight's chest?
It is, im pretty sure its already visible even when the dialogue box is still there though.
@@Zycoriz It is there with the dialogue. But the knight's protrait made me interpret at first that he was just carrying a sword on his back and he had an additional armor piece below the chest.
There is something to be said about following your dreams, but ignoring your survival instinct can be deadly sometimes.
Oh Wow, rabbits have Generalized anxiety disorder too... **burrows under my blankets** We love you Manlu!
Just watched a 10 hour stream and it just ended so this is actually perfect
As a rabbit owner, the accurate portrayal of the rabbit makes me so happy. Mister Rabbit doesn't have a dog snout, he doesn't have a cotton ball tail, he even sleeps flopped over like a real rabbit does!
Edit: except rabbits don't cry. But we can't have everything :/
I have a bunny named Cinnamon, I sure hope he doesn’t turn evil
WHY DID I LEGIT CRIED FOR THIS!!??
Who needs therapy when you got an emotional support rabbit?
I'm waiting for the day that the title is telling the truth and Manly just plays a really cheery game.
Hey I don't know how often you take suggestions but there is a game called bad end theater that I really like and it fits in with the kinda stuff you make so if you have the time I'd at least suggest playing it even if you don't make a video for it. (Edit:The game is on steam for anyone interested in checking it out.)
loved that game
ah yes i saw markiplier play it, not sure if manly would be into that type of thing though
@@blank_nebula8440 I think he would be. It sorta matches the other games he's played
@@xofreality681 maybe, it does have a lot of endings and we know manly is a blood hound for getting endings hahah
@@blank_nebula8440 manly’s played games from fnaf security breach to bloodborne to a thinly veiled furry transformation fetish game, I think he would enjoy Bad End Theatre
Hey manly! Me and my brothers have been fans for years! I found this great demo that I'm sure you'd have a field day playing even if it's not a full game yet. It's called "I Just Want To Be Single". Long story short, it's follows a plot where the main character that resists the trope of having a harem, lots of humor, character building, and overall plot which will be premiered if their Kickstarter next month goes well!
The issue is that I rarely trust the titles in Manly's videos but for some reason I did this time, now I am kinda regretting it but even so the gameplay is awesome.
Yeah, I kinda thought he might be serious this time too...oops. I hope the game didn't make you too sad.🙁
Thanks, don't worry I seen a lot more depressing games then this 😂 check out Omori if you liked this, its pretty sad.
yo thanks for reminding me of when i played this game out of curiosity and then got really sad intead
I think the guy in his last moments ran from battle to see Mr.Rabbit which explains why he got stabbed in the back
Aww! Listen to the opening... awe ☺️ hopefully nothing happens to the rabbit 🐇 Idk... rabbits are the most humble caregivers to humans I'll ever know 🥰
PS: 🥳 Congrats on 1mil!
Thanks for playing this game and luckily popping up on my recommended I needed that. And again from the the bottom of my heart thanks.
I was thinking too much that the boy was in pain because he was on a mission to fight Mr. Rabbit's kingdom and had to assasinnate Mr. Rabbit. But this ending was so sad....yet a bit relieved...What is this funny feeling? 😭
I thought and hoped this was building to the twist of the rabbit tricking the knight into trading bodies.
The rabbit never told the boy what to do he just encouraged him to do what he wanted .
Woo, definitely no dark twists or sad endings here!
We all need an emotional support Bun bunun every once in a while...
Forgot how huge animals are with respective to the human in the RPG version in the background.
Manly’s video titles have always been trustworthy ever since.
I really like this game, it's unique in it's simplicity and relaxed tone... despite how bloody that era was.
12:00 Mister Rabbit didn't to put regret in the heart of the guy during his final moments.
This was so wholesome and yet a simple nice short story
Love how the start with the rabbit is basically implying humans are not something natural.. You are also very correct in the fact that one of the big reasons why humans, more specifically, men, had short lives was due to war. Lack of knowledge in regard to work safety, safety of the very objects used for everyday life, medicine, proper sanitation/hygiene, ect, ect... Took their bites as well of course...
Reminder that Mr Rainer's Solve It Service comes out tomorrow!
This is so....nice...I wish it was longer maybe deffernt stories.....maybe the future can bring more!
I love the way they call each other mister rabbit and human
Almost made me want to watch Watership Down again

Mister Rabbit my new emotional therapist
We really needed some therapy in this channel, this was very nice.
I guess its nice to play a theraputic game once in awhile.
I think it's great that art can be interpretive, but damn, I just cannot see this story as anything but uplifting. I don't know what you guys are going on about down here.
I like that mr rabbit wasn't the villain of the game, and he was just genuinely a rabbit that gives comfort and encouragement
Oh my!
Soldiers are just armed sacrifices.

Me, reading the title: >.>
Edit: bit of a spoiler below.
Me, having watched the video: Uhuh, that's what I thought.
That's a common horror story alright.
Mr Rabbit learned from the panzer of the lake.
They really were just meat to the grinder and that’s so sad….

i love the way the whole story is written in the essay style
I actually like this. The young man knew he had done a cowardly act. He also repented of that, and faced his punishment, and fought for his country and came home proud. Maybe laid his life down, for his country and his family, but gave the ultimate sacrifice. It's the real world. Very nice.
as a rabbit owner... accurate depiction of bnuuy
I love Manly playing dark games but also if Manly will ever want to play something wholesome without dark twist I would watch it still
Moral of the story: Don't enlist to go off to war or you'll quite literally throw your life away.
It may be a hard choice to make, but it's always, always a choice for an adult with a healthy brain.
Then don't bother replying to me anymore since we disagree fundamentally on what a choice truly is.
