Hey KS! My M&P9 M2.0 Compact is also one of my favs in my collection. I'll enjoy it even more after I go the Apex flatty trigger route. I'm also really liking my newest addition, the G19 MOS G4, which is wearing a Burris Fastfire 3. I always wanted a pistol with a reflective red dot, so I picked it up on a great deal. But, I must say that I prefer the ergos of my M&P over my G19. It just fits in my hand better. I like the way the Olight PL-Mini looks and fits on your M&P. I went with the larger PL-2 version which has more output and a strobe feature, but gives up the recharging feature. Either way, both are nice lights. I love it. I carried the full size 5" but fell in love with the compact 4" as soon as I held it! I APEXed the trigger a month back and it got even better!
That is a very nice setup there, i love the trigger. Looked at both 2.0 C & 2.0 5" too, the compact got my vote too, carried a G-19 for years and like you said the slide on the m&p won me over, i love the aggressive grip as well, great review sir.
Smith & Wesson. have always done a pretty good job with their M&p line however, they have really stepped their game up in the recent years with the shields, M2.0 and even their AR line. I own the compact M2.0 and threaded 45 maaann with those Apex triggers they're even better. Love them both. Great follow up review as always.👍

I've been a fan of the Glock 19 since 1992 when I first started shooting one. Still have that pistol and won't get rid of it. I did however get rid of my other Glock 19's after a few months of owning my M&P 2.0 C. I too have it paired with an Olight PL-Mini and I like that combo. It's the pistol that I take with me most places when I take more than just my concealed carry pistol. 406 Holsters made me a custom kydex setup for it with the PL-mini attached and I am pleased.

I'm with you dude. Still love my 2.0 compact. I got the curved apex trigger on mine and ameriglo spartan sights. I love shooting it and love carrying it. I don't think I will ever be getting rid of it.
I sure like my O Light PL-2 Valkyrie 1200 Lumen light. I like bright, really bright! and the switch operates they way a switch should work. Very affordable compared the those other brands.
I just got the 2.0 compact. It’s an excellent firearm! I didn’t really connect with the full size model either. The compact has an “it factor”that the full size just doesn’t have.
KS - One cool thing I've noticed is that the comments to your vids tend to be good-natured and positive (unlike most of TH-cam). It's a testament to the class with which you produce your vids. Great work. #MakeAmericaClassyAgain

Nice review. My M&P compact 9 2.0 is a really good firearm. I’m still not in love with the hinged trigger but this one is much improved over the earlier M&P model.
I've got the 5" FDE version when they first came out. Iput night sights on mine to. Also an Apex trigger. I will never get rid of it. I wish S&W put Apex triggers on them stock. Great video as usual!👍✌️

I now have the Compact 2.0 with Truglo sights and the awesome Apex trigger. I also own the stock 3.6 model and I plan on giving it to my wife. I like having magazine compatability for us if need be. I own several brands but out of all my options, I choose the M&P 2.0.
This is one of two guns that I really want to shoot, The M&P 2.0 compact and the CZ P07. My CZ P10c has become my favorite over my Glock 19 but that S&W sure looks like a smooth shooter.
I liked the full and this one felt a bit better. Right around the time I picked one up and was thinking about getting the trigger and light I saw one of your vids with the same stuff! Totally confirmed my thoughts! The only thing I was not able to try was the cz but still pulled the trigger cause I like Smith minus the trigger haha. Want to find a range nearby that has more czs.

KSGunGuy+ Yep. this 2.0 C is a keeper. I've got 3,000 rounds with no hiccups. Love the feel, the accuracy and of course the looks. Heck, I'm even fine with the stock trigger. Without a doubt my favorite semi auto. Good video.
I have it in 9mm fully stock, shot around 3,000 rounds. i personally like the trigger and dont find anything wrong with it. Imay change the sights to tritium/night sights . Trigger and grips really smooth out after around 800-1000 rounds. Never had a single jam or failure, the only thing was ONCE the slide did not lock back after last round. really like it and im certain im staying with it until i die.
Cool. I have the forty version and recently got a G23. The Glock doesn’t even come close to my M2.0 in any way except it ate and spit out the crappy Perfecta ammo I’ve been wanting to get rid of. Hopefully it will get better but the M&P is the winner out the box.
The M and P 9 compact ( Mod 2) with the complete Apex Trigger (3 lb spring) shoots almost as well as my CZ 75 D compact (SDP from Cz customs) - in fact I enjoy shooting the M and P better. Because of the rough grip texture, I also installed Talon Grips. Thanks for your thoughtful reviews.
Good review brother, I bought the 2.0 full size when it came out. Just got the 2.0 compact 3.6. I put big dots sites on it shoots great. Going to have the apex flatty on it this week. Cant wait to see the difference in the trigger.
Nice video KS . Definitely love my Shield 2.0 and my full size 2.0 . I definitely want to put the Apex flatly in my full size 2.0 . Too curved and breaks too far back to me . The Shield 2.0 trigger is fine to me .
So I don't know if you have any pull with S&W but if you do can you ask them if they're gonna start making some of these guns optics ready? I know they have a shield one but let's be honest red dots are quickly becoming the future of pistol shooting
Why do you prefer it over the 2.0 full size it’s only a 1/4 inch difference in the barrels and do they shoot the same with no problems . I’m trying to decide between the two .
What barrel length, 4 or 3.6? It is confusing to hear compact which means something totally different to those of us with small hands. Thank you for sharing.
I just picked up the 3.6 version.I always modify my guns, I'm going to try to restrain myself and leave this one stock. Although trijicon hds with an Apex trigger is so so tempting
I just bought a new m&p compact in 9 mm with a 4" berral, with two 15 round magazines. I'm looking forward to shooting it for the first time. I love the grip, my sheld 2.0 had the same grip texture. , My Glock 19 gen 4 is going to my nephew, I paid $410.00 at Bud's gun shop.
Love the 2.0 compact. I've been carrying it aiwb for a few weeks now with no problems. The grip texture bothered/irritated my skin for about the first week, but hasn't been a issue after. Guess your body gets use to it and it's the perfect grip at the range. I left the trigger stock, but the hinged S&w design doesn't bother me. I will upgrade the sights, but what comes out of the box isn't bad. The "full" size doesn't make a lot of sense to me when the compact is capable of holding the 17 round magazines as well. So I actually have been carrying with the standard mag and a 17 round backup. Harry's insider overlord has been on my radar 😀
Same here, I love this gun. I too have the olight and this is a great alternative to the Glock 19 with a better grip texture, feel, and angle (for me). Nothing against Glock, but as a 1911 shooter I prefer S&W as it is a great company to invest in (excellent revolvers and rifles too, but need 10mm option like Glock offers).
I have to concur with everything you stated here. At the time i was looking for a stand in for my p320 while it was getting upgraded. I bought my 2.0 it was either going to be a gen 5 g19 or the 2.0. After shooting the gen 5, I went straight for the 2.0. Since my p320 has been back, it has kind of taken 2nd chair to the 2.0.
I love the gun and it came with a laser sight, but I've been having a really hard time finding a holster for this gun with a laser. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Thank you ER! Both are excellent choices but I may drift towards the M&P in that configuration. As for the trigger, it’s the full flatty kit with the duty springs. Seems to be the sweet spot for me at 4.5 pounds. Cheers!

i bought the 2.0 compact based of reviews. like it so far. i didnt shoot well with it first time, ill need to go out again. the sights dont look lined up on the gun but wanna work on fundamentals before having someone sight it in.
Any time your thinking about buying a pistol, go to TH-cam and enter the brand name and model then put the word problems at the end (ie S&W M&P 9c problems) You'll get pages of information that others have experienced with that pistol.
I debated also on which version to get.I got the 3.6 because of the slightly better balance(for my hands and grip)to use for concealed carry.It's not that much difference.I also installed Tru-glo tfx sights and a Apex trigger kit.They are worth the upgrade for my old eyes and hands/grip.Also,I bought mine from GrabaGun website for under 380 bucks a year ago.Good deals and service.

I am looking at getting one for my self. Debating between the 4 inch and the 3.5 inch does it really make a difference? The 4 inch would probably fit my tlr 1 light better that's about it.
Right now smith and wesson has a $50 rebate good until Sept 1st or 2nd. I seen it as low as $399 so with the rebate that makes at $349! What a freaking steal! Btw, I'm surprised you don't have more subs. You do a good job on reviews. Perhaps take it outside to change the scenery instead of the boring inside range? I notice that is what other gun reviewers do. Just saying. :)

anyone able to find a compatible OWB holster for the 2.0 .40 no thumb safety with TLR7 light? Having trouble finding anyone that makes one that I can also attach the safariland QLS system to. Appreciate anyone's help that may know a holster mfg. that makes something.
My two biggest complaints with the gun is the glued in plastic on the safetyless version and the fact the slide never quite looks like it is completely forward because the back isn't perfectly flush. 1:25 shows this even in video
Ever since I got into plinking steel forms and soda bottles, I've noticed that being alone is cooler than ever before. Firearms are an excellent exchange for a bitchy girlfriend, especially if she hates guns. I love my Shield but this compact is gonna be funner to shoot. I swear when these guys hold these guns up side by side, it's like comparing street rods and muscle cars. Guns are sexy and addictive. I swear plinking is therapy. "TA TING TA TING TA TING!!!" Wouldn't it be cool to have tuned forms so you could play musical notes as your tinging your targets? This plinking adventure is going to cost me a lot of money and I'm gonna sell a lot of my toys to make my shooting course comfortable and fun to operate in. This is what old people should do with their last few years. You guys gotta try the Kimber K6S! It's funner to shoot because my arthritic pain in my fingers makes it hard to load mags. Revolvers are a more relaxed loading experience. No Pain! ...lol... What I love about this M&P Compact is the ports in the lower front. It's definitely a good looking pistol.

I like the gun so much I went and bought the new 3.6 inch model they came out with. Same 15 round capacity with a slightly shorter barrel.

Any malfunctions with the lighter spring set?
After 300 rounds there have been no malfunctions and the trigger pull is better then ever.

Why do you prefer it over the 2.0 full size it’s only a 1/4 inch difference in the barrels and do they shoot the same with no problems . I’m trying to decide between the two .
What barrel length, 4 or 3.6? It is confusing to hear compact which means something totally different to those of us with small hands. Thank you for sharing.

I just picked up the 3.6 version.I always modify my guns, I'm going to try to restrain myself and leave this one stock. Although trijicon hds with an Apex trigger is so so tempting
I just bought a new m&p compact in 9 mm with a 4" berral, with two 15 round magazines. I'm looking forward to shooting it for the first time. I love the grip, my sheld 2.0 had the same grip texture. , My Glock 19 gen 4 is going to my nephew, I paid $410.00 at Bud's gun shop.

Love the 2.0 compact. I've been carrying it aiwb for a few weeks now with no problems. The grip texture bothered/irritated my skin for about the first week, but hasn't been a issue after. Guess your body gets use to it and it's the perfect grip at the range.
I left the trigger stock, but the hinged S&w design doesn't bother me. I will upgrade the sights, but what comes out of the box isn't bad.
The "full" size doesn't make a lot of sense to me when the compact is capable of holding the 17 round magazines as well. So I actually have been carrying with the standard mag and a 17 round backup.

Same here, I love this gun. I too have the olight and this is a great alternative to the Glock 19 with a better grip texture, feel, and angle (for me). Nothing against Glock, but as a 1911 shooter I prefer S&W as it is a great company to invest in (excellent revolvers and rifles too, but need 10mm option like Glock offers).

I have to concur with everything you stated here. At the time i was looking for a stand in for my p320 while it was getting upgraded. I bought my 2.0 it was either going to be a gen 5 g19 or the 2.0. After shooting the gen 5, I went straight for the 2.0. Since my p320 has been back, it has kind of taken 2nd chair to the 2.0.

Thanks for the review. The MP 2.0 with the apex, looks awesome . Do you recommend the MP 2.0 over the G19 gen5? In other videos I have seen that the distance of the reset is shorter than the reset on your MP. What kit did you install?
Thank you ER! Both are excellent choices but I may drift towards the M&P in that configuration. As for the trigger, it’s the full flatty kit with the duty springs. Seems to be the sweet spot for me at 4.5 pounds. Cheers!

i bought the 2.0 compact based of reviews. like it so far. i didnt shoot well with it first time, ill need to go out again. the sights dont look lined up on the gun but wanna work on fundamentals before having someone sight it in.

Any time your thinking about buying a pistol, go to TH-cam and enter the brand name and model then put the word problems at the end (ie S&W M&P 9c problems) You'll get pages of information that others have experienced with that pistol.

I am a Glock guy but I am looking hard at getting one of these. What do you think about the 3.6 inch model vs the 4 inch model?
I debated also on which version to get.I got the 3.6 because of the slightly better balance(for my hands and grip)to use for concealed carry.It's not that much difference.I also installed Tru-glo tfx sights and a Apex trigger kit.They are worth the upgrade for my old eyes and hands/grip.Also,I bought mine from GrabaGun website for under 380 bucks a year ago.Good deals and service.
The gun shop I go to has the 3.6" model for $439.99 + taxes, I keep getting tempted to just buy one but I already have a Glock19.
I like M&P'S as much as Glocks i trust them both!

I am looking at getting one for my self. Debating between the 4 inch and the 3.5 inch does it really make a difference? The 4 inch would probably fit my tlr 1 light better that's about it.

Right now smith and wesson has a $50 rebate good until Sept 1st or 2nd. I seen it as low as $399 so with the rebate that makes at $349! What a freaking steal! Btw, I'm surprised you don't have more subs. You do a good job on reviews. Perhaps take it outside to change the scenery instead of the boring inside range? Easy D not worth it all they did was shorten the slide and barrel and kept that long 15 round grip to me that makes no sense.

My two biggest complaints with the gun is the glued in plastic on the safetyless version and the fact the slide never quite looks like it is completely forward because the back isn't perfectly flush. 1:25 shows this even in video

What trigger is this
Ever since I got into plinking steel forms and soda bottles, I've noticed that being alone is cooler than ever before. Firearms are an excellent exchange for a bitchy girlfriend, especially if she hates guns. I love my Shield but this compact is gonna be funner to shoot. I swear when these guys hold these guns up side by side, it's like comparing street rods and muscle cars. Guns are sexy and addictive. I swear plinking is therapy. "TA TING TA TING TA TING!!!" Wouldn't it be cool to have tuned forms so you could play musical notes as your tinging your targets? This plinking adventure is going to cost me a lot of money and I'm gonna sell a lot of my toys to make my shooting course comfortable and fun to operate in. This is what old people should do with their last few years. You guys gotta try the Kimber K6S! It's funner to shoot because my arthritic pain in my fingers makes it hard to load mags. Revolvers are a more relaxed loading experience. No Pain! ...lol... What I love about this M&P Compact is the ports in the lower front. It's definitely a good looking pistol.
