    Ran 10.99 with my Paxton 2200 on a 3.6 pulley stick shift on e85. Went th400 and run low 10s with the same boost. Gonna try to shed some weight or mess with the convertor a lil and try to squeak out that 9s pass without adding any power. Car is almost 3900lbs with me in it.

    Thank you Alex - this was great! You crammed alto of info in and I can see it must have been tough to select what to include. I think it could have been even longer. Maybe a Part 2 one day. I'm building a 13gt with a VMP/Whipple & a stock long block trying to see if I can dip into the 9's with a torque converter, weight reduction. maybe a transmission brake. I wanna be safe with my engine so I think I need to cap the rwhp at about 650.
    Maybe it's just me but I think Alex can come back to this application in more depth with two vids - one for what you can achieve with a stock long block going into other mods (weight reduction, torque converter with twin screw, benefits/downsides of a 2.3 vs 2.6 TS, different Throttle bodies, CAI systems, IAT issues; TransBrakes, etc;) then another vid for the $$$$ guys with what you can achieve with a built long block, benefits of gen2 vs crank kit, head porting, SC porting, header selection, more weight reduction, suspension mods; etc). I think this is the dividing line between the basic types of builds.
    I'm glad Alex took the channel in this direction. I hope these vids do real well so he can justify making many more. Good luck Alex!

    • @slow99gt
      @slow99gt ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I know you didn't ask me but it really depends on how far you'd want to go with it and how much you're willing to spend. I think a solid setup would be this : Steeda stop the hop kit, good tires like an r888r in the rear, boost a pump if you are staying on 91/93 octane but if e85, then go with a fore innovations level 2 system with at least two F90000285 pumps, injectors depend on power level and fuel type but I'd go straight to a deatschwerk 95 lb injector or an fic 1000H for headroom in the future. If you really want to burn money you can go with a mcloud rst clutch/flywheel combo, ben calimer stage 3 mt82, one piece aluminum drive shaft and of course a lund tune. That should cover everything

      @@eddiefreiberg5521 fantastic really happy with the set up. Only conservative tunes 690rwhp on 93 and 800 rwhp on e85, stock trans and engine but a lot of supporting mods to keep it all cool.

    Does this kind of translate to Gen2 as well? Or did you make a similar video to this but for the Gen2's? I have a stock 2016 CS GT/6R80 car and plan on throwing boost at it as some point. And I'm just looking for a fun driver car, so a 10sec capable setup would do me perfect. Maybe leave a little room to grow. I'm an old fox/sn95 guy so I'm not in the loop on the Coyote stuff lol..

    • @jmendozas197
      @jmendozas197 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can make more power through a Gen2, so you can pretty much dip into the 8s with a stock motor. You will have to throw in some stronger half shafts, but everything else he mentioned here will still apply.

      Including if you were to have a shop install and maybe a couple extra grand for insurance in case costs are more than anticipated, I think it’s safe to say around 15-20k. That includes maybe diff gear work, tire/suspension , boost of choice, fuel kits, tq converter, dyno tune, maybe some engine reinforcement like a gen 2 block, and of course shop costs. Somewhere in the ballpark around there I would think but don’t quote me because I haven’t actually done any of that.

    Hey Alex I’m chasing what I hope is a false knock issue wondering if you could give me some pointers. I’m getting less than 1 degree of knock on E80. Stock headers, 2018 ported mani, Roush CAI, Axle dumps, E85 2017 mustang gt 6r80. The knock is often at the 1-2 shift and sometimes randomly in the RPM but it never sticks around for more than a few hundred RPM

    • @2baldtires444
      @2baldtires444 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im no Alex, but damn near all of my knock issues have come from exhaust. Id double check that no clamps are hitting anything, or a bad weld is causing the exhaust to blow on the underside of the car. (Yes I’ve seen that on my car). Also, account for when you go WOT the exhaust will flex and move, so be sure you have good clearances. If not that, make sure that if you have a catch can, its not tapping on anything under the hood.

    • @2baldtires444
      @2baldtires444 ปีที่แล้ว

      But false knock could be caused by any 2 hard surface items tapping. So you just have to go under the hood and look at everything and be sure everything is secure and theres no markings from where it may be touching when going WOT. Get it on a lift to check the exhaust are good. Best advice I can give. Ive battled it a lot myself.
