Like nearly everyone else I knew back in 1964, I thought nobody could top The Beatles. Then The Stones and The Animals came along and everything changed. This was my kind of music. While I still liked the brilliantly crafted pop music of The Beatles, the blues based Animals and Stones made music that moved me.
Always love to come back to this, real music, real recordings. Makes you wonder what happened to modern music and performing artists. Most of it is fake
Eric Victor Burdon was born with a distinctive voice a fantastic front man and viciously talented I love listening to him and The Animals He was the man of the sixties!!
Hilton Valentine, the original lead guitarist for The Animals, passed away in Connecticut on January 29th, 2021. He was 77 years old... Between 1964 and 1983 the British band had nineteen records on Billboard's Top 100 chart, three made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "The House of The Rising Sun", for three weeks in August of 1964... Besides "The House of The Rising Sun", their other two Top 10 records were "See See Rider" at #10 for two weeks in October of 1966 and "San Franciscan Nights" at #9 for one week in September of 1967... The Animals were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994... May he R.I.P.
He wasn't on this credits Eric Burdon and The Animals. Andy Summers joined at the beginning of 1968. Zoot Money on keyboard. Band moved to the US broke up at the end of 1968 or beginning of 1969 depending on what source you read.
DEFINITELY !! I SAY THE SAY THING... THAT WAS AN AWESOME STATEMENT YOU JUST MADE. COULDN`T OF SAID IT BETTER BY NO MEANS !! WEREN`T THEY JUST AWESOME.... AND ERIC`S VOICE WAS AMAZING AND STILL IS. I KNOW HE`S IN HIS EARLY 80`S AND AND I HOPE HE`S DOING OKAY. SO UNDERRATED TOO. THEY WERE GREAT. BEEN LISTENING TO THEM SINCE I WAS 8 YRS OLD.
@@luistovar1727 sim, sem dúvida Beatles e Stones são muitos maiores e influentes. Mas eu confesso que não .unha humilde opinião The Animals é sem dúvida uma banda incrível... E Eric o maior cantor dos Rock 60s
Wow. This is really neat. These are the West Coast Animals, from the Winds of Change era. Don't often get to see them playing the earlier stuff. Very nice job, and a treat.
I just love eric moving, never in time to the music, he looks so awkward but that's what makes him beautiful, then you got the best voice ever, everyone always said he looks like my dad, only noticed past few years ...gorgeous, my dad is about the same height as him ....it don't matter how tall you are, you can be magnificent in thousands if peoples eyes . Big luv and hugs to Eric by the way lol not that he'll see this ❤❤❤
когда смотришь на молодых парней,некоторых уже нет в живых, тогда, в60 ых ещё они не легенды.как будто на машине времени перемещаешься.Сегодня ,2021. Грустно.Путь легенд,некоторых завершен.......
This is the New Animals. The version of SSR that was released as a single that we all remember sure sound like the original animals, particularly the Valentine sounding guitar and Rowberry keyboard.
Billed as Eric Burdon and the Animals. Later moved to the US broke up in 1969 Eric later teamed up with soul band War. This is a much covered Chuck Willis Atlantic classic.
Certainly the mic could have been lowered or changed out. Steve Marriott was a lot shorter than Eric and he had a lot of microphones to accommodate his height.
I heard "See See Rider" in other performances, up to Swedish Fleshquartet (very different), but since I streamed this video of the Animals, where from traditional Animals only Eric Burdon left -- I cannot compare anything to it. Yes, I like the organ of Alan Price as much as the voice of Eric Burdon, but I disagree with one of the comments that this presentation needs an organ or anything else. Even, middle-stringed lead-guitar sounds here like a hard-rock bass! It is perfect! 101%! Andrew Praiseword, May 6, 2022, Toronto
Not The Animals...this is Eric Burdon and the Animals...it’s too easy realize of that: Where’s Chas Chandler??? You can see to: Eric Burdon, Barry Jenkins (drums), Vic Briggs (guitar), Danny McCulloch (bass), and John Weider (guitar)... The Animals only were active until September 1966.
I wish I could time travel. I would have loved to have met him. But of course I was seven in 1967. So I would want to visit when I was at my best. It would have been interesting to see if he would have been attracted to me. I find him adorable.
I've loved the Animals ever since the mid-60s. That said, this is the most clueless rendition of "See See Rider" I've ever heard. It's like Burdon's trying to sing a song that's in a language he's never encountered and doesn't know what it means.

Raw and really good!
70 yrs old,and feel same as you.i havent heard the new songs since the early 90s
I like when bands do an actual live performance (like the Animals did here) rather than just lip-syncing a recording.
Tv shows would effectively force bands to lipsync because live audios would be pretty poor.
Eric Victor Burdon was born with a distinctive voice a fantastic front man and viciously talented I love listening to him and The Animals He was the man of the sixties!!
Absolutely f***ing brilliant 😎
Fascinante
What an incredible performance! So glad these recordings weren't lost to time.
Saw him live one time, really really awesome performance
❤❤❤❤❤
A very BIG hit when I was 16… loved that song…
Wow this is just fabulous ..woo hoo what a band ❤
LA MEJOR
We loved this song and it had special meaning for us because we lived near the ocean. Sea Sea Rider! We all went wild over this music!
Eric Burdon never got the acknowledgment he deserved. A real pioneer and great vocalist.
So true excellent singer and song writer
soul soul soul
This Song does and always have, Kicked Ass!!!
Oh my days, this is a class example of why I love The Animals. Pure excellence!

Thanks for the info.
Muchas gracias por compartir, es padre conocer.

Their performance was just as good on stage as it was in a recording studio! Great singer!
How can you ever get sick of this devastating in the best possible way smashing it out of the stadium 🏟
My favorite song by Eric and The Animals.Been a big fan since the beginning. Way Way Back.
when asked... Beatles or Stones?🤔
my answer: THE ANIMALS...😁👍🏻
Oh Man, Eric is the great voice of 60's Rock🎙️🇬🇧

Danke Animals ! Danke Beat Club , schöne Erinnerungen an das Jahr 1967.
Increíble haber estado ahí
Eng: Amazing to have been there
Eng Thank you Animals ! Thank you Beat Club , nice memories of the year 1967.
Utube, your the damn reason I'm so sleepy at work,,,,thank you
Great lead guitar work by Weider, shame the camera didn't focus on his skill instead of the rhythm & bass guys.
They are doing well as well
I got to meet him...he was beyond cool
Eric is superb, I adore him. But why didn't they have that mic set up for his height even before they started? That thing is way up there....
Eric’s mic is never set up , he is always messing it :-)
hahaha gotta be kidding, that would've made him look shorter.
Hes 170 most mics are set around 180-185 ( average man lenght)
I just love eric moving, never in time to the music, he looks so awkward but that's what makes him beautiful, then you got the best voice ever, everyone always said he looks like my dad, only noticed past few years ...gorgeous, my dad is about the same height as him ....it don't matter how tall you are, you can be magnificent in thousands if peoples eyes . It's about the sound of his voice. Lemmy used a high mic as well. For same reason.
Eric's voice 👍👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Eric Burdon was and still is hot! Love it!
I saw when he had Andy Sumers in tow. Man what a trippy night that was! Love every version he was with!🖖🚀
By far the best version his other versions sound too “studio”
Vi essa Música no TH-cam adorei descobrir Eric Burdon amo lindo olhar Sensual Irene Pontes
Un des meilleurs morceaux du monde par un des meilleurs chanteurs

I love this version but don't forget the version done my Mitch Ryder, both are 10 out of 10.
Billed as Eric Burdon and the Animals. Later moved to the US broke up in 1969 Eric later teamed up with soul band War. This is a much covered Chuck Willis Atlantic classic.
AWESOME
Best vocalist from the British invasion of the 60s

Aww c'mon he's not going that quick
Chewing gum like hell
They couldn't lower the dang mic? Lol. Poor Eric. Great performance.

Why The Animals could not compete with other groups?
They could not write own songs, making thousandth cover of evergreens.
First album I ever bought
Excellent, but not the original group. What would it be this song with Chad Chandler and Alan Price?
So True
There is a version of this with Hilton playing lead. No Vic yet.
Vic Briggs passed away recently. Beatnik of the Year !
Loved

¡¡¡ BRAVO !!!
The New Animals.
SEE. SEE. RIDER. !!!!!!!!!.............
Great version of the Ma Rainey song
Muy buen recuerdo¡¡¡
This is Eric Burdon and The Animals, great band but not the original Animals.
They forgot to lower his microphone stand. He eventually tilted down the microphone 🎤.
I’m always sorry for those who have passed.sister Veronica.
Bad ass band always was
You go white boy. God damn!
This live version is similar to She's a Woman by The Beatles
Yep
Wo ist das deutsche Fernsehen heute, nur noch Oma-Musik ?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wondering if all the band members got their chewing gum from the same Beatle card packets?
moon is shining bright
THE ANIMALS, ERÁN DE LO MEJOR¡
Conway #don't cry joni-🔮
Lotta drifting jaws in this one, LOL. Sounds sick, though.
Ya Baby
Chuck willis did it best ,the animals and mitch ryders versions were great, but chuck is the man and that sax solo was dope!

a real ball tearer.....
I prefer the version with Alan Price on keyboards. I like the sound of the Vox Continental on this song.
Yikes, the organ is missing! had price left by this time? It really makes it sound empty
Not only Price, but by 1967 The Animals had gone through a total different line-up of musicians (except Burdon of course).
The Animals we're a total different group except for Eric Burdon and Barry Jenkins.
It actually sounds better without the organ. More raw and powerful.
Cause of drugs they broke up also for that.
I really like the Animals, not War. But this virson wierd
❤️❤️❤️❤️💪💪👍🤩🤩🤩🤩😜😜😜😘😘😘😘😘😘
I've loved the Animals ever since the mid-60s. That said, this is the most clueless rendition of "See See Rider" I've ever heard. It's like Burdon's trying to sing a song that's in a language he's never encountered and doesn't know what it means.
