@Willehy I have a quest 3 and it’s amazing, the graphics are a big upgrade and the games our awesome, I recommend playing gorilla tag first to get used for movement. Also get a bobo vr head strap or a kiwi head strap, don’t get a meta head strap because there crap and over priced. Hope you enjoy your quest 3

Just bought a Quest 3 and sold my Quest 2… I justified the upgrade because I use the Quest 2 basically every day, it’s become one of my primary gaming devices.
Can’t wait to try the 3 for the first time later today!
Also nice mandolin in the back, I’m learning right now haha.

I've been more than happy with my Quest 3 and I'm really happy I didn't opt for a PSVR2 myself. I barely touched my PSVR original model and hated the wires, the amount of space required, and the limited selection of good quality games... Now I actually have a wishlist for VR games and I tend to participate in every big sale that rolls around.

The sweet spot is probably the main motivation for me to upgrade to the meta quest 3. Everything else is a nice to have except the pro controllers which for the current price difference I feel like they should be included.
Thanks for providing an unbiased and balanced comparison between the mq3 and the avp.

I think the mixed reality is still very much in its infancy and will take some developers to take it serious for us to get A+ apps and games in mixed reality.

If you use your Quest 2, buy a Quest 3. At first I thought it was a waste of money but after using it for a few months, it's so much better.
I recommend a better head strap with an extra Battery. It's a must... the battery does runs out way too soon.

It stays in focus with less effort. It does not require a perfectly lighted room to work. Is it worth the money, I don't know but I am glad I upgraded.

Well, I think the Quest 3 is a very good VR headset for what I use it for. I do PCVR Sim Racing on my PC and the quality of viewing is great. I am connected via a link cable to a USB port on the PC. Compared to my Rift S, the Resolution is better, the lenses are better and have a nice wide sweet spot, and more processor power. And it is my first wireless VR headset.
Still learning the Quest 3 and more info about it all the time on "You Tube"
The only thing I changed on the Quest 3 is the head strap. Now have the BoboVR S3 head strap, very nice replacement.
Thanks for the video, take care.

The play store thing is really on google for not cooperating if i understand correctly. That said I kind of disagree that they need to emphasize this direction. Once the novelty wears off there is little compelling reason for most to use HMD's for traditional flat screen content. Flatscreen compatibility is a nice ancillary feature, but for AR to stick they need to develop compelling applications that REQUIRE spatial computing (ie modeling, digital twins, interior design apps, task assistance apps, etc). Its easy to make compelling games in VR/AR, but its harder to make compelling mainstream work cases. Honestly i think its VR that has the most near term mainstream productivity potential if they can bring CODEC avatars to workrooms. That could actually fundamentally change communications. I'd hop in a headset for an hour to meet with someone halfway around the world for sure. But i have zero interest putting a headset on all day to do spreadsheets or check emails.

Aside from the base unit battery life, I absolutely love my Quest 3. I was hesitant about getting another VR unit after having the first PSVR, and barely touching it....but I think it was the need to have an exorbitant amount of space and the requirement to have cables running across my living room...
While I could play PCVR with my Quest, I haven't done so yet... the base unit and the Meta Quest store have more than enough offerings to keep me extremely happy and I play it daily.

The apple vision is 6 to 7 times the price of the quest 3. I'm cool with it being worse so long as it's still as cheap as it is. If they made it as good as the apple vision it'd be way too expensive.

I was trying to decide between the PSVR2 and the Quest 3. Having a PS5 and PSVR already, I am very familiar with the PlayStation ecosystem and set up well for PSVR2, but it just seems like there is very little support for it from Sony. If PSVR2 had backwards compatibility with PSVR games, it would be an easier choice. I got my son a Quest 3 and he LOVES it. Plus with Asgard's Wrath 2 still being bundled in through June, it's pretty much a no brainer. Quest 3 it is.

I am still using the Rift CV1 and still happy with it even tho the visuals are not the best. I have been looking to upgrade but i watched Linus reviewing the Quest 3 and he said that the tracking wasnt the best and if you have outside in tracking then stick with that. What is your opion on that as i dont wont to go for better clarity but worse tracking, plus, would i see a big difference between the two headsets?. Cheers

    • @BritishBoy
      @BritishBoy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I've owned a quest 3 for a few months now and I can confidently say that the tracking is pretty phenomenal. I've found that hand tracking has become my go to for most casual content like youtube, but the controllers are pretty stellar. Ive only ever noticed that the tracking requires the cameras when i was playing FNAF help wanted and was so scared that i was contorting my left hand behind my back to hold the mask. As soon as it sees the controller again it's right back at it, but its field of view is massive anyways so it's rare that you'll really go out of that zone with your hands.

I'm pretty sure I heard that they want the android app store stuff, but google doesn't want to work with them because it's working on it's own vr. When it comes to cross-platform, that can sometimes be the hardest part. Horizon OS is based on android so I can imagine that implementation isn't a huge concern, purely the business garbage.

I bough a psvr2 for one game synth rider but unfortunately synth rider on the vr 2 Sony doesn't support custom songs like every other synth rider version. This is why I don't use my Sony vr2 and why ill never buy another sony vr headset. Same for meta. I love my quest two for two things. Beats Aber and synth ride and porn. But beat saber doesn't suport custom songs so I hack that on my PC and play through steam when at home and when away I play my limited library of 14 songs on 8 albums, I'd happily pay for the custom songs on beat saber but I can't as they don't offer that. Synth rider comes with thousands of custom songs all awesome and yes I bought pretty much all their albums officially as it's a way to suport them as I love customer songs and hate most of their albums.
Quest 3.has many issues for me, one I don't buy games outside Stan anymore and since airplay has faild on my PC since windows 11 released I have to either cable up or simply play on headset alone. I'm on headset alone, the audio sucks, if only I could send it to a amp via ble tooth. But the biggest single reason I don't buy a quest three is the extra cost and time needed to upgrade me two accessories, my battery pack oculass strap that I love and my prescription lenses. If quest supported my lenses here and my accessory battery pack strap I'd have invested in it but not buying them every time a new product comes out and no steam no air play working on quest two means I don't trust quest 3 and Facebook owners at all.
