Something to note here is that you don't *need* an rtx card to use ray tracing in UE4. It will be much faster if you do, but it will work with a regular GPU, I use a gtx 1660 and it's low fps, but it does work to get renders.

It really encouraged me to hear that real world camera experience translates to 3d art. I am just getting started learning about 3d art, but I have a long past history of photography education and experience. Hearing that that will translate really puts my mind at ease, makes me feel like I am not making an unwise decision by spending time learning 3d art. I was worried that I had wasted all my time learning about photography if I was just going to learn about this anyway, but now I don't feel that way at all!! I am actually more excited.

I recently bought a vintage Minolta 35mm with a vintage 50mm lens to accompany it. It has been a blast. I never liked taking pictures before as they felt artificial and fake capture moment. However, I tried it out because of people telling me the same thing you recommended and not only did I have fun; but I also learned something new, found a new passion for street/ skateboarding photography, and it totally helps with understanding the film process, which in return, makes your shots look more professional.

Most of the art, lighting, and world building tutorials I’ve seen are super long and overwhelming but this one is pretty short and a I think it’s a good starting point newbies like me.
