@@safir2241 Socialism leads to communism. Think about it. Socialism gives the government full control and the people are living under it's rule. The reason for socialism? It's to ease the people in that country into believing that the government will provide for them. So they play with your mind they spend for reserch your needs not for you, they do it for new better lie for increase their money. In socialism you cant do somthing bad for social, for example in USSR goverment cared about quality of goods and foodm because if soviet people will have problems with heals, then goverment must heal them. The voluntary choice to use & be dependent upon the Federal Reserve is via: 14th Amendment federal citizenship status (1868), House Joint Resolution 192; Senate Report 43: 73rd Congress 1st Session April 1933; Stanek v. America is actually a combination of capitalist and socialist policies. We should always remain more capitalist than socialist, but as it stands, public school, emergency services, road maintenance, etc. are all maintained under a socialist system. I stated this in my reply to the video; it’s about using each to its strengths. By far capitalism is better in most instances because it works on human instinct. Socialism should be applied to things that are basic human needs because that’s where it works most efficiently. And we used to have an inheritance tax and wealth tax, but I'm not entirely sure if we still have those. Taxes are also included in everything we buy, and automatically paid before we get our salary, so we don't really have to "do" or "pay" the taxes the way Americans have to, we just check everything is right. @@Kalimdor199Menegroth It was and it is. @@ЯсенЧапкънов Not all countries that became socialist were poor. Eastern Europe before USSR imposed the communist regime was not so underdeveloped in the 1930s compared to Western countries. The gap that we have now was much closer 80-90 years ago. Both Western Europe and Eastern Europe were equally affected by the war, however nobody can deny that Western Europe developed tremendously after the war, while Eastern Europe remained behind. As for the healthcare and quality of life, on average a socialist country had between 5-10 years less lifespan than people living in a capitalist country. The healthcare system in Western Europe is much better than that of Eastern Europe. This is a fact all residents in Eastern Europe can tell you. As for the wealth gap, the proletariat wasn't happy because most people were equally poor. The nomenclature was still being showered in riches and wealth because they ran the country and the supreme leader's authority derived, like in any dictatorship, from the support of the oligarchy surrounding him. As you see Kim Jong Un with expensive watches, eating Western top quality food, driving expensive cars and all that, the situation was the same with the leaders in other communist countries. Furthermore in Bulgaria most serous problems we faced were social not economical and had much more to do with the global state of politics than with collective ownership of the means of production. Still things like religious suppression and forced renamings are legitimate criticisms of the regime, but not the economic system itself. It can be criticised in more nuanced ways. Admittedly we had tremendous support from USSR but even accounting for that socialism improved our quality of life much faster than capitalism is trying to right now after crashing economically most countries in Easter Europe during the "democratization" that crippled our productive potential. By taking away the land the peasants had, they not only pauperized the peasantry, forcing them to work in urban factories, they produced an urban supply chain issue which affected the country well into the 1960s. The less I speak about the 1980s deprivations and the default we escaped in 1979, the better. No lives were saved by the communist system, because no lives were endangered in the first place. They improved the lives of the few at the cost of the many. They made everyone equally miserable and the only period of relative economic stability was in the 1970s and that was due to loans. When the regime was no longer capable of paying back the loans during the oil crisis, it subjected the population to a period of starvation so that the leader can pay the country debt he himself took. I am speaking about Romania here. Bulgaria probably had a different path, but in general Bulgaria had it worse than Romania. And it emerged even poorer after communism than Romania. At least Romania opposed USSR plan of turning the economy into an agrarian one and focused some investments into the industry. Still, as things are today, they are WAY better than what happened during communism, by a long shot. Even the most poor people today live roughly the same lives as the middle class under communism.
islam is best First of all, you cannot live without working - you can’t exactly get the necessities for life otherwise. Sure, you could use social security benefits, but at that point you’re just leeching off of others’ work. Second, socialism in its only current implementable form (communism) always makes people worse off than before in the long run. Look at the historical example of the USSR, as well as the present one of Venezuela. Communism fails as the state controls everything in order to maintain the state of socialism within the country - and since government elites are often corrupt they’ll use that power to hog most of the money for the state. Hence, how people were super poor in those countries. Also, slavery is morally repulsive no matter the economic system. We in America ditched slaves ~200 years ago for good reason - we only did it later than other countries as some morally bad people in the South decided to fight to keep them.

Food for thought: A common argument for capitalism is that you vote with your dollar in the economy, but everyone still remains equal because anyone can technically progress based on their level of work. But, even if this were true, (which it really isn't, but for the sake of argument I will say it is) that means that even then there is inherently a built in system where some people are worth more than others. Because even if you control the market with your dollar by "voting", the more dollars you have the more you matter then other people. In fact, inequality is quite literal then because a person with one dollar has only one "vote" while a person with 100 dollars has 100 votes, so the person with 100 dollars is thereby worth 100x more than the person with only one. In other words, the more money you have, the more votes you have, the more you matter than anyone who has less. Classic example of inequality. Sure, people can vote with their dollar, whatever. But what happens when a system allows people with an overwhelming amount of votes to vote in their own best interest, they will do so without hesitation. If a person were to think critically on the subject, you can see why people like myself desire Socailism, because we can recognize the contradiction presented by arguments like this. Not that anyone in this comments section is going to be here for a reasonable conversation, and I definitely expect to be harassed, I thought I would lay out this idea in a way that would allow some people to see the reverse. Anyway, cue the angry mobs of group-think.
So yes, free market breeds inequality, what's bad about this? The more you do to other people the more you get and vice versa. That's literally justice itself.
I don’t see a problem with some people being more valuable than others. Along as we are all treated equally under the law then I have no problem with a capitalist society with some sprinkles of socialism here and there to protect people from monopoly and oligopoly power. A dollar is not just a dollar and a vote is just not a vote. A dollar and a vote represent value in a person, place, or thing. It would not make sense to make people or resources equal in terms of value because everyone and everything has a different measure of output.
That means little Timmy sitting on his computer all day playing Minecraft is not as valuable as Mrs. Jackson who is a teacher that uses her time and energy to educate children to produce educated adults in the future. Clearly Timmy’s energy and resources are being spent in his own interest to service himself while Mrs. Jackson’s value come from her time and energy being focused on servicing others.

Explain to me the political, social and economic structure of venezuela from 1990-present times and explain how venezuela is socialist and explain how it led to the situation it is in today. “Socialism: A political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole through democratic means.” I’ll save you time writing an answer to that: Venezuela is not socialist, and has never been Socialist, it is just run by the Socialist Party, that’s it. In no way does it’s economy represent a socialist economy. The crisis it is going through is a result of very very bad populist policies created by Maduro. The wages system operate in Venezuela, The profit system operate in Venezuela The accumulation of capital occur in Venezuela Externalities occur in Venezuela Inequality occur in Venezuela. The workers don’t own and control the means of production. What Venezuela has is basically the total breakdown of separation of powers in the state. No checks and balances. So power concentrates absolutely, with the result being tyranny. All opposing forces get dismantled, and so the regime becomes able to dish out anything. Yeah, Venezuela is far from Socialist.
@The Glorious Revolution Nope. there were no socialist policies implemented throughout venezuelas history. "Can the real SOCIALISM please stand up, please stand up!" Sure Catalonia, Spain, just before WWII was Anarcho Syndycalist, which is the closest thing to “True Communism” ever achieved in History. The entire region had no governent. All aspects of the economy were collectivised and the society functioned without capitalism and it was able to provide healthcare to 2,5 million people. There was growth in wealth and an absence of poverty. More schools were built and and they had a very effective military which they often used to protect themselves from Spanish Nationalists during the Civil War. Its was stateless, classless, moneyless and everyone was equal. The only thing that kept it from being the first Truly Communist Country in History was the fact that it wasnt a country, it was just a region in Spain that was being attacked by the rest of Spain. When Eric Arthur Blair (George Orwell) was fighting there, he said: “It was the first time I have ever been in a town where the working class was in the saddle. This shows what human beings are like when they are trying to behave as human beings and not as cogs in the capitalist machine.”
Completely wrong. Business are there to make money. Maybe they start out wanting to help others, but later on almost all companies instead try to figure out how to profitize every last bit from their product. And they need to. If they don't, their competition will most likely crush them. Greed is the reason why most other systems fail. It powers capitalism. Here's a question for you, why do advertisements exist if companies only intend to provide services to customers? And why are most advertisements engineered to play on people's bad habits so they are more likely to try it, instead of just presenting themselves as an option and leaving the user to actually choose. Why do some manifacturers make products intentionally break down after a certain amount of usage? It's because that makes things more profitable. If you're in this world with only the intention to provide for people, you likely won't make it anywhere. I don't think we have any system that is better right now. But don't mispresent capitalism. It is quite dirty.

wrong The primary aim of such a society will be the reduction of the working week. Here is how that will be achieved: If, say, factory, F, can make n Widgets per 8 hour day, and worker/engineer, W, comes up with a technological or work-method improvement that will enable factory F to make n Widgets per 6 hour day, then (unlike at present) this will reduce the working week by 10 hours (with no loss of pay), as opposed to making k workers redundant (in that factory, or in other factories). Economic advance, in every area, will therefore be aimed at reducing the working week as opposed to cutting wages, making workers redundant, or undercutting competitors in order to secure higher profits - but, there won't be any competitors since every economic unit will share this common goal, reducing the working week. This will in turn mean that technological and other innovations will be freely shared, not regarded as 'industrial secrets', as they are at present. Such developments won't be resisted, as is often the case under capitalism, they will be welcomed, and those introducing them will be regarded as heroes, not villains, as happens now. So, the pressure in society won't be to hoard knowledge and keep it secret, but to open it up, and make it freely available. The only competition in society will be to see who can come up with the next big idea, the next big technological advance, the next refinement in the work process, that will shorten the working week. Every other economic unit will no longer be viewed as a threat but as an ally. The same will be true of every other country, so there will be no international rivalry, and hence no wars. Shortening the working week will, plainly, free up time so that vastly more individuals will be able to educate themselves to whatever level they want, and in whatever subject they desire, thus filling the ranks with countless individuals committed to the above innovations - technologists, designers, computer scientists. Others will be able to devote time to the arts, science, exploration, tourism, photography, medicine, etc., etc., most of which areas are now largely confined to, or monopolised by, the rich or those patronised by the wealthy. This will create a truly massive pool of creativity, not just in technology, but in ‘pure research’, design and the arts, music, communication, and entertainment, easily the greatest increase in all of human history. Furthermore, human potential won’t be squandered or wasted as it is now (for example, at present 29,000 children under the age of five die each day from preventable causes; quite apart from its immorality and the untold misery and suffering it causes, what a massive waste of human potential this is alone! - that won’t happen under socialism), so the pool of human creativity will grow exponentially. Goal: Reduce child mortality Nor will trillions of dollars be wasted each year on useless weapons of death: $1,570,000,000,000: how much the world spent on arms this year Or on marketing and advertising, etc., areas of employment that only make sense in a capitalist world founded on competition, and hence on massive waste. As production becomes more efficient, and the working week has been shortened dramatically, workers can be transferred to other sectors of industry, or to other jobs, so that the whole economy benefits from reductions in the working week elsewhere. This will mean that, say, 'less pleasant' jobs will also see a significant reduction in the working week as more workers are co-opted to work there (this will be done under local democratic control, by agreement, not coercion), which in turn will mean that if worker, NN, works in, say, waste disposal, he/she will find that job much less onerous and unpleasant if they only have to spend half a day a week, or less, doing it, without loss of pay. So, under socialism, full employment will in the end mean a couple of hours a week, or less, for everybody (except in very specialised areas, like surgery, much of which will be largely under computer control, anyway), and the implementation of a truly self-developmental and leisure society for the first time in human history. Contrary to what some think (mostly anti-communists ignorant of Marxism), this won’t be a Utopia. That is because, even though those who do the work will be in control of society, humanity will face many problems, some of which they won’t be able to solve or solve fully, So, this won’t be a perfect society (a “workers’ paradise”), but it will be one in which ordinary people democratically make the decisions, and they will do so in their favour - not the elite who currently make such decisions in their favour.
It's sad we can make a small change to your statement and have it no less true: The problem with Democrats is that they incentivise parasitism and punish work, achievement and entrepreneurship. Not surprising many of them are now overtly embracing socialism.

@@wakandaforever2401 Capitalism simply defined is: you may do with your money what you want, so long as you do not use violence on another man(hired or no). Private citizens own the means of production. This can only function properly with limited government. Socialism simply defined is this: The state tells everyone what to do. There is very very limited freedom, the government owns the means of production, and can basically do whatever it wants. This can only function with all-inclusive state(if it can function at all). Communism simply defined as this: The People owns the means of production. Basically it is another way of saying the State owns the means of production, because who gets to decide what is done? They use socialist aligned policy, as socialism is about giving power to the people and workers, so when they employ tactics such as free healthcare and strengthened unions, it does align better with socialism, however, it doesn’t change its economic system, but it does align less with capitalism as those policies are done.
Alright, most of the points seemed correct, but "common sense" is all you need, isn't really the best method. Let me common sense a little back... First: I agree with you. Capitalism is generally a better idea and the more socialism, the less economic democracy there is. That makes sense. But to prove this point you gave the example of the economy uprising since 2017. Even if one uses the example from 1917 until now, the GDP would be steadily rising. How much of this is not opening up a more free market, but perhaps just simply advancements in technology or other factors such as the global economy becoming better in general? Second: I live in a really rural part of the country, but I think this can speak to big cities too. Public roads? Public education? These are not capitalist ideas. They are actually strongly socialist things. I would not want to pay to fix the main roads and back roads to my house by myself, we wouldn't be able to. Education is so important because, without it, this entire country could quickly fall apart. Third: I think common sense would support the fact that technology is becoming more and more advanced. In some cases, it is already cheaper to have a machine to produce the wealth needed for the "free stuff" (as mentioned in the video) than it is to hire someone to do it. This will only become more of a problem in the future as simple jobs in factories, mills, and transport will be able to produce more products with fewer people to work them. What will happen to the people who don't have professional licenses, degrees, and educations? The Answer: I think that there needs to be a balance between Socialism and Capitalism. The fact is, either extreme can be equally as bad. Currently, we have a blend of the two and there are people fighting tooth and nail with each other about it. I am all for helping people in need, but on the other hand, I don't want everyone waiting for the "free stuff" to come to them... This is why I think we need a social and economic fall back to catch the people who will fall behind and supply them with the bare essentials to live. At the same time, we need to give people an incentive to work and a desire to attain a better lifestyle. Benjamin Fisher lol roads, military, education, and other basic needs have always been the governments sole purpose since the founding fathers.. that’s what they intended. Just because they’re paid for by tax dollars doesn’t make them socialist programs. Common sense would’ve told you that.
@@juniorflores4542Government programs and taxing are not Laissez-Faire is what I mean. It doesn't mean we are a Socialist country at all, it just means we can benefit from certain aspects of both economic theories. Extreme Capitalism and extreme Socialism can both be harmful. That was the point I was making. We need to find a balance between the two so we can enjoy the positives of both while avoiding the negatives.
social welfare were never original ideas socialism, it was proposed and created by a LIBERAL government. but i agree completely agree with finding the middle ground.
@@benjaminfisher1565 Hell, I think it does make us a "socialist" country and that's a good thing. Socialism is about the government working for the people, not that crap that Stalin put in play. That wasn't Marxism, socialism, not communism. That was authoritarianism. Capitalism isn't about pooling your resources for the good of the many. It's about making a profit and the guy at the start of this video isn't being truthful. Capitalism is always trying to find ways to cuts it's expenses and that number one expense is labor. Its a selfish system that succeeds because a system begats a system that begats a need, etc . . . I think capitalism is an awesome engine, a driver for the economy. We need it, but we have to limit it's desire to monopolize and that's what's happening right now with Amazon and Walmart. Their market shares are way too big and out of line and other retailers are falling by the wayside. Yeah, that's "competition" but soon they'll take away all the competition and pretty much run the whole thing. When a big box closes it at the mall, to many other support jobs go with it, but somehow we're all missing that point. It's not just that Claire's Boutique or the Gap is closing or has closed, security and cleaning jobs go as well. Hey, I don't mind having to pay for roads, police and fireman, better libraries, etc . . .Socialism? Damn right it is and we've done well as a result. But our lack of understanding what the word really mean is a dangerous thing.
@Noel Taylor Yeah, I can agree with you on the monopolizing. I remember being in AP U.S. History and we used to learn about "trust-busting" and how monopolies were supposed to be broken up, but then I related it to today's market and for most industries and brands, there are less than ten or so major companies. Even if there seems to be a lot of choices, really it's all just the same corporate owner under many different brands and names. Take Proctor and Gamble for example. They alone own Tide, Olay, Vicks, Downy, Bounty, Ariel, Always, Pantene, Gain, Febreze, Gillette, Oral-B, Pampers & Pampers, Crest, Charmin, Dawn, Pepto Bismol, and over fifty other brands. Luxottica, the eyeglasses company owns over eighty percent of the major brands who sell eyeglasses. Walmart and Amazon might not fit the definition of "monopoly", but it's not as if someone can start a company today and stand a reasonable chance at opposing them on the open market. While I'm all for quality products being cheaper, I don't necessarily like the fact that many many jobs are being taken away and all of our money is going towards the same few companies. If there is a way to instill some actual competition that will bring back jobs without making things unreasonably expensive or destroying the quality of products, I think this is the balance we need to achieve between Socialism and Capitalism. Too much Capitalism allows monopolies to form and it allows people to become dependent on the monopolies, which is ultimately really risky and can be harmful if anything were to happen to in our economy. Too much Socialism drives the overall gross domestic product down because no matter how hard one works, they will always meet a barrier on their company or business. I agree with you when you say Socialism is a misunderstood term. When people say, "Capitalism is always good and Socialism is always bad" I don't believe they truly understand the pros and cons to both sides. But having these conversations is a good way to get different viewpoints and gain an understanding of the subject as a whole.

sure, but it is a lie, why most biggest companies tell to you what you need. What is the neuromarketing? Capitalism oriented to capital not to society, socialism orient to society and not to capital. I dont know what happens with idea of socialism in USA, but soialism it is not what you saw in video.
Let me explain what I mean, when company can do it somthid fot more money, that company will do it, and dos't metter what happen with peoples. For example Johnsonʼs Baby Powder, that company didnt care of your needs, that company care of capital. 40 years of lie. Who knows how many companies still lie. Why thanks for MacDonalds and Coca Cola and others companys so many USA peolpe became so fat? They are dont care about your needs they are try play with your needs for their capital and dont care about cocial. And if they can they will be lie to you, like USA goverment when they need come to Iraq they did it with fake proof of chemical weapon in Iraq. So they play with your mind they spend for reserch your needs not for you, they do it for new better lie for increase their money.
In socialism you cant do somthing bad for social, for example in USSR goverment cared about quality of goods and foodm because if soviet people will have problems with heals, then goverment must heal them. 1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.
The using of a Federal Reserve (central bank) CREDIT (debt/IOUs) is NOT payment of debt at law, merely discharge in civil law: admiralty, UCC & equity. The voluntary choice to use & be dependent upon the Federal Reserve is via: 14th Amendment federal citizenship status (1868), House Joint Resolution 192; Senate Report 43: 73rd Congress 1st Session April 1933; Stanek v. White; Legal title to possession and use of property via discharge with Fed Res IOUs, which is a loss of real private ownership called Allodial title or Allodium, which is both legal (possession and use) and equitable (beneficial interest) titles combined. Various zoning, school & property taxes due to mere legal titles. Also the Bureau of Land Management, Land Use Fees. Zoning - Model ordinances proposed by Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover widely adopted. Supreme Court ruled "zoning" to be "constitutional" in 1921. Private legal title holders of property required to get permission from government relative to the use of their property. Federally owned lands are leased for grazing, mining, timber usages, the fees being paid into the U.S. Treasury.

“The ultimate ownership of all property is in the State; individual so-called “ownership” is only by virtue of Government, i.e. law, amounting to mere user*; and use must be in accordance with law, and subordinate to the necessities of the State.”
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
The 16th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, 1913, The Social Security Act of 1936; Joint House Resolution 192 of 1933; Victory Tax Act of 1942 and various State "income" taxes. The US calls it "paying your fair share" which equates to the communist mantra: “from each according to his ability, to each according to their need”.
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance
In the US its called Federal & State estate Tax (1916); or reformed Probate Laws, and limited inheritance via arbitrary inheritance tax statutes. (not fully implemented, but close)
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels
The US calls it: the 14th Amendment; government (IRS) seizures, tax liens, Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process.
5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
The US calls it the Federal Reserve System (a private corporation) which is a credit/debt system nationally organized by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). House Joint Resolution 192; Senate Report 43, 73rd Congress 1st Session April 1933.
6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State
The US calls it the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated through the ICC act of 1887, the Commissions Act of 1934, The Interstate Commerce Commission established in 1938, The Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission, and Executive orders 11490, 10999, as well as State mandated driver's licenses and Department of Transportation regulations. There is also the postal monopoly, AMTRACK and CONRAIL
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
The US calls it corporate capacity, The Desert Entry Act and The Department of Agriculture. As well as the Department of Commerce and Labor, Department of Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Mines, National Park Service, and the IRS control of business through corporate regulations, title 26 USC. Public Business, Corporate Capacity, Commerce, mercantilism.
8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
The US calls it the Social Security Administration and The Department of Labor. The National debt and inflation caused by the communal bank has caused the need for a two "income" family. Woman in the workplace since the 1920's, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, assorted Socialist Unions, affirmative action, the Federal Public Works Program and of course Executive order 11000. And I almost forgot...various Equal Rights Acts; Corporate Capacity and commerce
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country.
The US calls it the Planning Reorganization act of 1949 , zoning (Title 17 1910-1990) and Super Corporate Farms, as well as Executive orders 11647, 11731 (ten regions) and Public "law" 89-136. Conagra, ADM, Cargill, Monsanto, Dupont, Corporate Capacity, Commerce
10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production
People are being taxed to support what the US body politic calls 'public' schools, which train the young to work for the communal debt system. The US also calls it the Department of Education, the NEA, Outcome Based "Education" and Common Core.
I agree, I do think that America will remain majorly capitalist for the foreseeable future. It’s one of our countries greatest strengths.
Basing a social system on human instincts is conservative AND barbaric.

@@joshuagoldglancz7144 cuz we tax consumption and income taxes very high. Everything has a VAT of between 10 and 25%. Petrol is taxed over 100%, making the taxes on fuel higher than the market price itself. Income is taxed progressively, meaning if you make over $100 000, suddenly you pay 53% of all income earned over that bracket. Then you have certain counties that have property tax. And we used to have an inheritance tax and wealth tax, but I'm not entirely sure if we still have those.
Taxes are also included in everything we buy, and automatically paid before we get our salary, so we don't really have to "do" or "pay" the taxes the way Americans have to, we just check everything is right. And we can also chose to pay more or less taxes, and then get the money back or have to pay more back depending on the right amount. There's even an option to voluteerably send in more taxes than you're supposed to, without getting any paid back, but only morons do that lol. Then there are deductibles which reduces the tax or gets you more paid back when tht is due.

If we're going to have honest discussions about politics, let's at very least apply critical thinking to our approach and challenge our own hypotheses with data.
Not that under a socialist regime this was different. The nomenclature and high-ranking officials would benefit from the most advanced medical treatment and services while leaving the happy proletariat to contend with dirty, poor and crowded hospitals. At least under capitalism, healthcare did improve even for the poor.
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth It was and it is. Just because counties that have had socialist revolutions tend to be poorer to begin with that does not mean that their healthcare or their quality of life in general hasn't improve faster than in capitalist countries with the same level of wealth. Furthermore while the elite is undoubtedly privileged in the services they are provided compared to everyone else the difference is waaaay smaller than between rich and poor under capitalism. Both system have problems but socialism is better for the majority and has the potential to be improved even further unlike capitalism.
They deprived the general population of wealth, but not themselves, nor their nomenclature.
@@Kalimdor199Menegroth Lol I am from Eastern Europe and I know how much things improved for the lower classes under socialism. Of course the begining was hard and not insignificant amount of people were hurt or killed for resisting collectivisation or indirectly damaged by the expropriation of their lands and resources, but the lives saved by that very system outnumber them greatly.
Admittedly we had
tremendous support from USSR but even accounting for that socialism improved our quality of life much faster than capitalism is trying to right now after crashing economically most countries in Easter Europe during the "democratization" that crippled our productive potential. The 5-10 years statistic you mentioned is either comparison of lifespans today between equally wealthy countries with and without socialist past or between socialist and capitalist countries with different level of GDP. I'm obviously not 100% sure what you are refering to but I know from personal experience what it means to have reliable free healthcare and what it means for the continuation your very life to be comodified and priced as a product.
@@ЯсенЧапкънов From Eastern Europe as well, and compared to the 1920s and 1930s, the situation worsened under the communist regime here. The lower classes, although they were not rich during pre-communist times, they fared still better as they were provided land after World War 1, land which was taken away by the communists, producing the 1950s famine.
Capitalism may not be perfect, but it’s a hell of a lot better than socialism.
islam is best First of all, you cannot live without working - you can’t exactly get the necessities for life otherwise.

I know right?!
Wow y’all are delusional, you can like socialism but please face reality
@@weelee4352 and yet little timmy is a trader who makes millions of dollar with his computer for himself while Mrs Jackson cannot save $400 while serving the community.

"we need less government regulation" - ceo of hardeys
Yes because more government regulation, puts a strain on businesses and corporations.
G Dante G Dante It reduces CEOs personal profits. Republicans economic policies are based on Trickle down economics or/and free market.
Trickle down: if the gov doesn’t tax or regulate corporations, the corporations will make more money, and CEOs will “bring down the wealth” into the workers. This is believing that CEO and corporations want to give their workers more money (the man in the video is Hardees CEO, and he is very much against raising the minimum wage) and not give them to themselves or their investors.
Free Market: is based on the “invisible hand”, this states that the economy will self regulate, (didn’t work during the Great depression or Recession)
Also they claim that the market self regulates, but give bailouts to corporations when they fail and declare bankrupt.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world because they barely pay taxes, uses government resources and money, and they pay their workers the minimum. Even Trump has called out Amazon:
www.cnbc.com/2020/04/07/trump-blames-internet-companies-like-amazon-for-postal-service-demise.html
How is the wealth supposed to “Trickle Down” if CEOs won’t pay their workers more, and how is the Market supposed to less regulate when if a corporation fails the gov bails them out.
(Tax breaks are paid by cutting social security. You take money and resources away from the poor to give them to the rich.)

The entire region had no governent. All aspects of the economy were collectivised and the society functioned without capitalism and it was able to provide healthcare to 2,5 million people.
When Eric Arthur Blair (George Orwell) was fighting there, he said:

David Reynolds A ideal capitalist will make every benefit for other people work and not work a bit themselves, whose the parasite again?
David Reynolds
Yeah and that’s just one in a long list
wrong
The primary aim of such a society will be the reduction of the working week. Here is how that will be achieved:
If, say, factory, F, can make n Widgets per 8 hour day, and worker/engineer, W, comes up with a technological or work-method improvement that will enable factory F to make n Widgets per 6 hour day, then (unlike at present) this will reduce the working week by 10 hours (with no loss of pay), as opposed to making k workers redundant (in that factory, or in other factories).
Goal: Reduce child mortality
Nor will trillions of dollars be wasted each year on useless weapons of death:
$1,570,000,000,000: how much the world spent on arms this year
Or on marketing and advertising, etc., areas of employment that only make sense in a capitalist world founded on competition, and hence on massive waste.
It's sad we can make a small change to your statement and have it no less true:
The problem with Democrats is that they incentivise parasitism and punish work, achievement and entrepreneurship.

They use socialist aligned policy, as socialism is about giving power to the people and workers, so when they employ tactics such as free healthcare and strengthened unions, it does align better with socialism, however, it doesn’t change its economic system, but it does align less with capitalism as those policies are done.

Socialism is when the government does stuff and the more stuff the government does, the more socialister it is.

In all reality, I don't have all the answers, these are just my thoughts on things and I hope some other people can benefit from my argument. Please feel free to explain where I go wrong, as healthy debate will hopefully solve this problem. Have a nice day!

Hey, I'd like to point out that No, they're not jobless. At least not all of them. Most of them have gone to college working jobs that they don't like or the very bare mininum in order to survive.
One "liberal" Socialist that I argued with had a job as a manager at a major food chain. He has an extreme hatred of the people who live in the fancier houses and hates the fact that he can't even afford a dress shirt. I'm personally much poorer than he is, but I DO NOT support the idea of Socialism at all. He thinks that we should tax the Rich and Business owners of their "excess wealth", but he can't even define what "excess wealth" is. Dunning-Krugger Effect: You don't know what you don't know. Socialist Leaders like to keep terms like this vague so that they can change it to mean whatever they want/need it to mean. To him, it might mean a second house, to me it means owning that IPhone/computer he's typing on.
What really warped his perception of Socialism vs Capitalism wasn't the fact that he doesn't understand how jobs work, but rather a misconception on how "being rich" and "being poor" works……… Also he lives in California, where the average Housing is DOUBLE of the national average. First peice of advice I gave him was to move the Hell out of California and see how much better us "poorer states" are living compared to his.

@Skooma Cat why do we have an illegal immigrants problem?
Because people need money to survive, and the US has all the money.
If border security were relaxed, then most people would come and go as they need, rather than trying to get in and stay.
What, did you think Hispanic people like being mistreated by Americans, abused and degraded just so that they can make some extra cash?
@Skooma Cat yes, many absolutely do, as evidenced by how immigration used to work before we locked it down in a fit of racist xenophobia.
Previously, people would come, they would make their money, and then they would go home.
Now, if they leave, they might not be able to get back in again to make money, so they stay, all the while sending money home.
People don't come to the US because they like us. They come here because we've got all the money - most of it looted from other countries.
