    There are so many people that use controllers for Smash games, but here I am still using the Wii remote & the joy cons. It's unfortunate since there are hardly any good training videos that use those as their basis, & knowing how the internet is like, it'll probably never happen.

    I could not believe how difficult it has been to find a clear and concise video explaining all of these advanced techniques that isn’t just 30 minutes of live rambling from someone’s twitch stream. Actual production value here with the light up button map.
    Question for you, in the controller settings, what sensitivity do you set your movement stick to? What do you suggest for newer players?

    • @HighLanderPonyYT
      @HighLanderPonyYT 5 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      ZeRo said most pros set it to High and it has felt better than the other options so far.

    • @GeflGabe
      @GeflGabe 5 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      Newer players should just start at high sensitivity, since there's objectively no reason to start at a lower sensitivity, given they won't be used to any previous games. Even then, it's a better choice to set it to high from the get-go.

    • @gbird.
      @gbird. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      High sensitivity, more precision

    • @totallycarbon2106
      @totallycarbon2106 5 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      I was under the impression that high sensitivity made inputting smash attacks easier, and other strong attacks. But visa versa makes weak ones and tilts harder. Mostly not a problem if you have tilts on C stick, but if you play Palutena (or potentially others with moves similar to her side b) then it might be worth experimenting

      Also, if you roll in any situation, you have a few frames of vulnerability before you're actually safe. So trying to roll out of blockstrings or rapid hits like Fox's drill, Ness' PK Fire, or Charizard/Bowser's fire breaths will cause you to take damage. Ultimate seems to focus more on shield pressure, sort of like Melee, but more emphasis on shields in general.

    All this tech is cool but I REALLY don't understand the context in which to implement these options. Excited for the next video

    • @NISHIAKI
      @NISHIAKI 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The context generally applies to each character differently. For example, the Reverse Aerial Rush is almost essential tech for a Captain Falcon player, who can use that attack as an approach. Whereas a Lucas player may only use that as an edgeguard, since his back air is a spike and isn't as useful on the stage in a neutral position.
      Some techs, like most of the Shield techs, apply generally the same to all characters (though they may be more or less useful depending on the matchup).
      I would say picking a tech and spending a some time in matches trying to execute it successfully will give you a good idea of when it is and isn't appropriate/useful implement.

    i don't understand why most of these techniques are useful. the information is good and clear but i have no idea where it fits into a match. it would be great if you could explain the basics of what you SHOULD do rather than what you CAN do. Like a basic style of play that will see consistent results and explaining how you could build off of that, instead of just listing off moves and techniques. I've watched the first 2 parts and they basically do the same thing with simpler moves.

  • @hivesteel
    @hivesteel 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Hey Izaw, awesome guide. I just want to point a small technicality: in part 3 and part 5, you say to instant dash attack by pressing control stick and c-stick together left or right. From this I'd interpret that you can input them on the same frame and get an instant dash attack, which is simply not true. It's easy to test that if you do this input on exactly the same frame, you get a tilt.
    I guess you can get away with saying this because a movement input on the control usually register before a c-stick input; a slight tilt on the control stick inputs movement, but slight tilt on the c-stick doesn't input a tilt. However, if you very very quickly smash both control and c-stick, you will get tilts consistently. So if people are misled by this video thinking you can control stick and c-stick at the SAME TIME to instant dash attach, as they improve and their inputs get quicker, they'll start messing up instant-dash attacks more. So it's important to point out you need to hold left or right at least one frame before your c-stick input.

      Yes, but it's not nearly as useful because of the fact that you suffer a lot of landing lag when airdodging into the ground. So while it does exist, there's not much of a point in learning how to do it.

  • @reneeschke

    Very very nice! Although I personally would like a slower paced video with less moves. It‘s a lot to take for a beginner and more footage and indepth explanation would be nice. Maybe even slightly offset the footage, so I have more time to process what I just heard before I see it in action. I often find myself rewinding the video, because I just didn‘t get it. But again, thank you very much.

    • @M4C3W1
      @M4C3W1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      T!TO chill dude, I might have to find myself rewinding the video to comprehend some things if I had never heard of some of this stuff before, while the title says expert a lot of these things are basic mechanics that a new player would need to learn

    • @reneeschke
      @reneeschke 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Firstly I interpret the title as „this is what you need to become an expert“ and not „this does only make sense to watch if you are an expert“. Secondly: this video is clesarly intended to teach something to people who don’t know this stuff. Why make a video explaining concepts in ways only people can follow who already know these things? Thirdly no matter the skill level, I argue that with such complex concepts it‘s benefitial to offset the spoken point and the visual example, that‘s all.

      The speed settings may help as well. If you go to setting (the gear icon) in the options on the right side next to play, and fast forward, and click it, it should have a speed setting to help it go slower. I hope that helps! If you haven't already, make sure to watch the previous videos too, they also have great detail. Cheers to learning to being a better fighter! and good luck in all your future endeavors good sir!

      @reneeschke 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jtmack55 Na man, it's okay, thanks ^^ - I still want to enjoy the video without weirdly sounding speech :) - and still the information would come at the same time as the visual example. I didn't intend to cause a whole conversation here :D - just wanted to give an idea how to improve these already awesome videos even further.

  • @lloydaran

    11:59 it can and most likely will lead to nairs WITH momentum, as the window is inconsistent, as well as being prone to just getting a dash attack or the very tilt you input in the first place.
