Maybe thats what it is, every review i see people complaining about how it has no bass or whatever....but in fact the pixel 8 pro has been the best for me bass wise out of any phone ive ever used.

Battery life depends on many things. It's different for everyone. I hit mine hard everyday and still manage to lit it in charge at night with 30-40% everyday. It's learned what I use so it's adapted really well. Even with super hard gaming and music.
    Cheers.

Right, that bit using the phone as a hotspot with poor service on top of it will destroy any phone's battery. My P8P isn't the battery king but it's more than adequate for a full day and has never really gotten less than 5 and a half hours SOT even with extreme use

Honest little tip: never keep your fragrances in a bathroom, frequent temperature change due shower will make fragrances to start lose certain notes, especially top notes. It is best to keep it in a cool, dark place where temperature is more or less stable all the time. Cheers!
PS. really incredible drone shots in the intro. and lastly, P8 Pro is a lovely phone, been really enjoying it.

Awesome review! Really enjoyed the transparency of using the device throughout the day.
Little disappointed to see how much you struggled with the battery life. I thought they’d improve that aspect. Both my s23 ultra and 14 pro max go all day on a single charge. Even when I’m doing heavy usage i manage to make it home at the end of the night with about 30%.
I remember my trip to Hawaii last summer I took my s23 ultra and spent an entire day out taking pictures, videos, uploading on social media. Shared my hotspot a few times, used maps. From 7am to about 10pm when I got back to the hotel. Still had about 25% battery. An absolute beast that phone is. I feel like if google can get that right they’d be heavy hitters.
I did like the pictures you took, the camera in low light was impressive. However the shakiness when zooming in/out was very noticeable. Almost ruined the shots if I’m honest. I’ve seen other reviews and they all say the same about the post editing ability. I find that great, I feel as if most people now do tend to edit their own shots opposed to the super saturated images that come stock with the camera.
You really put this phone to the test. It’s not a bad phone by any means. There’s definitely room for improvement. It’s just tough because you try not to compare it too much with the other guys (iPhone, galaxy) but for the price you kinda have to compare it. Hopefully google takes some notes and listens to the feedback. I’m sure they’ll have a gem soon.

    • @MattRobb
      @MattRobb  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

The S23 ultra and the iPhone have good standby but if I leave my pixel over night it wipes out like 30% which is annoying. I imagine it’s due to now playing being on always listening so I’ll have to try turn it off and see if it makes a difference.

Any phone will drain battery quickly if it's on poor network and hotspot to top it off. That being said, I am getting a solid 6 to 7 hours of screen on time easily and left with 20% before bed time. Really happy with my Pixel 8 Pro. It's an amazing phone overall.

I have the pixel and i love it , anyway i am a person who do phone calls, browse media , read and listens on the phone, but i never ever play games on my phones no matter how incredible their chip might be . I do gaming only on proper PC :) I really wanted to like the pixel watch, but i also train more than 12 years already and when i put this watch on my hand it just looks so...feminine. Sorry i dont used another word , but it really does on my wrist :S .. its not only the size that is kinda small, but also the form factor is ummm not manly enough for me lol. Im not a G - shock fan or anything , but i do wear garmin epix , fenix and forerunner and they all sit very good unlike pixel watch :S I hope they introduce 2 different versions , the same size and form for the fans and also something like more sport looking and rugged a bit.

How would you rate your experience with social media usage? I’m a heavy Instagram-twitter-WhatsApp user-is it a smooth experience? Is it choppy? I’m just worried for that. And also, the emojis of the android os really bother me 😅 is there any way we can download a Google or Twitter emoji pack to use instead? Thanks!

They are both smooth when scrolling and liking posts but when posting photos and especially videos to either a story or your profile the quality is hit pretty bad on android in general. Also there isnt anywhere near as much customisation when making a story on android compared with on the iPhone. People always ask me why I go back to the iPhone and as a content creator quality of posts is really important to me as it’s my job. If this doesn’t apply to you, I would say it’s definitely good enough for the every person to post and share with friends

@greentea0956 Battery life is similar to the iPhone maybe slightly not as good but mainly because the screen goes much brighter on the pixel. I personally like the screen on the pixel better. The Pixel is a beautiful phone - it is and always has been amazing through its many iterations, but the battery is a killer for me. Been an iPhone guy since they came out - but every now and then I switch to the Pixel to try it out but everytime I end up sending it back to Google for a refund and I go back to the iPhone. Sort it out Google.

I love my pixel but i do admit the battery drain is crazy but I've found if you switch it from 5G to LTE youll get a little bit better battery.

I was supposed to get pixel 8 pro but i didn't 😅 instead i get s23 ultra from S20Ultra, i didn't like S20Ultra exynos at all. Lucky i didn't get pixel 8 pro because of the battery problem. I learned from TH-camr mistakes 😅
Who knows i might get Google or Samsung or Vivo or Xiaomi in the next 3 or 4 years.

I recently switched to Pixel 8 Pro from iPhone and I'm incredibly satisfied! For a more powerhouse experience of course Samsung S23 would be a good choice but keep in mind that Pixel's camera is excellent and since it's Google's own device, Android gets updates FIRST before any other Android device. I'm really into the Pixel's AI features, which are it's key selling point as well.

If you’re going for the iPhone, be prepared to take a few months to really adapt (and potentially frustratingly so cuz that was me). Just like switching to a different computer system altogether, it’s going to take some time adjusting to how the iPhone works.
You’ll criticize it at first for its inefficient placement of things and it’s way of functioning, then you get used to it and find ways to navigate faster, then you realize that the extra steps aren’t really a big deal (like $100 to a millionaire in a good way)… and then you finally pick up where the iPhone truly shines. This gets facilitated faster if you also join the Apple ecosystem, but that’s something you pick up over time if you choose to do so.
If you’re into video recording, the main drawback is the floating orbs from any light source at night.
Updates are relatively frequent. The nice thing is you don’t have to wait your turn for your update because all iPhones within 5 years get the same update at once. My 14 pro and my parents’ 12 pro max get the same update pretty much on the same day. This includes security updates and feature updates.
The final thing (especially as someone who came from Android): you learn to stop caring about who got such features first or that Apple tries to sound like they have something never seen before. You just focus instead of what you got. Then you look back and see all these Apple and Android fanboys who argue or criticize things on a superficial level, calling each other isheep or fandroids as shallow “children” who haven’t matured yet to truly understand both sides at a deeper level.
People will say that Apple is an extremely closed system where you don’t have much control over it like limited customizations. My suggestion is to think of it as one less thing to bother worrying about since it’ll be taken care of. It’s like understanding how your employee works and adapting to their work ethic to bring out the best in them while achieving the goal together, then letting it do its job while you focus on something else. Like a good supervisor. Or better yet, imagine it was someone you’re in a relationship with: you adapt to their quirks and adjust to how your partner does things.
Android beats iPhone here if you prefer to have Android be an extension of yourself by having it adapt to you and setting it up exactly how you want it to look and function (Tony Stark’s AI assistant Jarvis in the Iron Man movies).
iPhone will be more like adapting to a person since you can’t exactly force someone to change who they are (Tony Stark’s love interest, Pepper Potts in the Iron Man movies).
With all that said, I myself am switching to Android because I want to explore how far Android has come along since 2018. I’m just stuck between getting the p8p or waiting for the s24u from Samsung 🤔 because it will need to have reliable connectivity (and I’m reading that p8p has some issues there with suburban areas due to a weak modem.

Me, looking from my Pixel 8 Pro
I am writing before watching: The result is a good phone, I ordered it in November and it arrived on December 9, since I am from Russia. The problem is that some functions are not available in Russia, and future ones will not be either. And some functions are simply useless. The most important thing: autonomy is not the best, you will have to configure it well. It also gets very hot when using the Internet, but not when connected to Wi-Fi. There are some bugs in the system.
From the unimportant: Well, the new functions in the camera are as useless as possible, also useless functions are video improvement (because it doesn’t really do anything or makes the video worse) and the intelligible speech function (degrades sound quality). But these are unnecessary points.

Doesn't seem so Pro to me I understand you did some things you don't normally do that Day but still the Phone should be able to get you through an entire Day without having to be recharged especially since it's a so called Pro Model. In my opinion the Pro Model of Phones aren't really worth it I Root my Phones I always have and I most likely always will and I install Magisk Modules and some APK's to help improve Battery life and Performance and by doing that I can get a full Day of use out of my Google Pixel 8 sometimes more.

It's not half as good as my cheap Chinese phone Xiaomi which cost half the money and still has a longer battery life than my 3 years younger pixel. The camera is the only good thing about these phones. I will never buy one of these ever again.
