Riverton is a true hidden gem amongst stores. They might not have a ton of allocations but they do great picks and great deals on regular whiskey. They really try their best to get bottles into the hands of people who want them and not feed the flippers. Real down to earth people who just enjoy the hobby and hate the allocation game as much as their customers.
Binnys stores are amazing. Walked into one last year, stagg jr sitting there for $60. Grabbed it and got out as quick as I could. Generally though they all just have crazy inventory and always something new being put on the shelves (literally sometimes stuff just stocked left and right while your shopping)
If you're looking for a good distillery in Illinois, check out Blaum Brothers in Galena. They source their grains locally, distill it, barrel it and they've been around for over 20 years so they have some good age on their bourbon.
Happy New Year Brewzle! Love the channel and wishing the channel continued growth. Just got into bourbon and you’ve made this journey incredibly fun and interesting.
welcome to the 217 Brewzle!! yall picked the arguably the best place to get a horse shoe in Springfield! my favorite thing to do is introduce my in laws to horse shoes when they come visit. but it is pretty slim pickins for bourbon around here without going to binnys or friar tucks.
Never thought I’d be the guy to jump in the comments and say you missed something but at the first store you went to, you skipped right over the Hard Truth Four Grain. It’s incredible.
42:05 - lmao that dude got caught in the biggest lie ever and was doing backflips to get out of that conversation. "Oh, I'm here for bourbon, but you can't follow me, or ask me about it."
That’s usually how Binny’s is, by me. Usually the managers bring my bottles out in brown paper bags from the back and will only go grab them if you’re “finished shopping” and ready for a quick handoff. Sounds cheesy, I know.
So dumb. It’s cool to see BTAC even if you aren’t the one getting it. I’ve never got any at MSRP and I’m ok with that. I’d rather pay more and not waste my time or have to buy tons of bottles I don’t really want. I enjoy the hunt when I have time and BTAC can be found at less than full secondary if you look around in November and December. More than retail but less than Unicorn pricing
I am a native if Paducah, KY but currently reside in Bloomington-Normal, IL. Wish I was home in B-N and I would have escorted you around town.. We also have a Binny's and Friar Tuck plus some local shops. Really enjoy your videos.
Binny's is the king in Springfield these days but in year's past Friar Tuck's on the west side of town was the top spot and the shop where all of my BTAC and Pappy came from, now just a shell of its former self. Cheers Brewz!
I can't believe I've seen Lakes Distillery bottles in a liquor store in Illinois in this vid! Not bad going for a small Distillery in northern England.
When you hit Iowa, if you don't leave with a least a bottle of Cedar Ridge bourbon it will be shameful. Distilled just outside of Iowa City, IA. Delicious.
Riverton is a great store, I don’t get over there as much as I like (it’s about 2 hours away from me), but I stop in any time I can. If you’re still looking for OGD16 I see it on the shelf all the time in MO. I’ve tried it and don’t think it’s worth the price, so I’ve never bought one.
Found North Batch 9 on the top shelf at 36:06 . I only know the Batch No. cause I found it when I was at that store in November! Don’t sleep on some of that Canadian stuff
So apparently, I didn’t even know there are a few local distilleries around me down here in Florida and you have inspired me to go check out some of the whiskeys there there’s even a small whiskey from a Polish family who immigrated here to Florida. I can’t wait to try.
I would be interested to hear what you think of Still 630. I was there in Sept of 2018 when they were still aging their stuff. Had some gin and rum that was ok.
Binnys always has great picks. Drew and the gang are always great and fair. The Springfield store is said to be one of the top 5 bourbon stores in the company. Most of the time you have to be a loyal regular to get the back room goods.
Hey TJ next time you are in central Illinois go to Oak and Flame bourbon hall in Le Roy. They have a bottle shop and in the back a bourbon bar with lots of pours.
I was in Jacksonville, Florida yesterday and visited the Total Wine near St John’s Towncenter. Great store, nice selection, and good customer service. I wasn’t filming so I’m not sure how they would act about the camera, but still a positive experience. Also, if you are ever in the area, visit a MayDay ice cream parlor and try the Gillespie Bourbon Pecan flavored ice cream. It has roasted pecan and Buffalo Trace blended in and it’s on point. Great stuff.
Whiskey Acres has really improved over the past few years with age. Their higher proof stuff holds up better for sure. They do a really good yearly Blue Popcorn and Bloody Butcher. They also do some interesting finishes, but most of those are limited to a few barrels and you kinda have to get them before they are gone.
5:23 Ironfish is an awesome distillery in northern Michigan. They have great bourbons and ryes finished in maple barrels and are creative with different casks. If you find a barrel strength store pick, it’s a must buy!
The Dark Arts Single Malt is fanatic!! I'm not a fan of SM, but that one is absolutely delicious. Peach, carmel Apple with a finish that last for ever.
I found a bottle of Coy Hill locally (Delaware) but it’s priced at $499. I see it online for $275. Prices seem to be actively dropping across all brands right now. What’s the trigger price for you to jump on a bottle of Coy Hill (assume you don’t have any at home) Thanks for the content guys. Love the channel. 😊
My Coy Hill is 133 proof. I've seen them around at 130+ in my area, but I think those are the later barrels they shipped. The earlier barrels were mostly 120s
Binnys are fantastic stores. Not all are created equal. My favorite one is in Chicago. The South Loop location. Hit Ricobene's for lunch before or after , get the Chicken Vesuvio Sandwich you will thank me
Love Darcy’s and their horseshoes. No real good package stores in Springfield that don’t have crazy markups. Binny’s is always a go to when I’m there. For grocery stores Hy-vee and Harvest market and county market have pretty good selections. Friar ruck always has insane markups, last time I was there they wanted 350 for JD10
Sell a ton of sazerac stuff like fireball consistently and you'll probably get bigger allocations. I run a Walmart Liquor Store. BTAC is typically once a year. My store got 21 bottles. Also in florida if that matters
I go to Illinois every few months north of Chicago. The prices in Illinois are better than most any other places I see. Lots of nice places to go too. You should get to Dekalb, IL to do the tour for Whiskey Acres. Nice place.

What are your thoughts on the baby blue label Remmi Martin? Found one for $225 and was curious..
"them other boys dont give you enough samples come on back. We'll finish you off right." Now that's how you get a repeat customer. Good luck to them.
Thanks for coming to the area, I hope you enjoyed yourself and the hospitality. Great videos which are enjoyable.
Riverton is amazing. And i absolutely love Whiskey Acres! So glad you bought that 7 year!
Your Hunt videos are the most enjoyable. Love to see the different stores and how they do things.
Thank you!
Whiskey Acres, Darcy’s Pint and Binny’s…Great IL vibe! 🔵🍿
That guy at the first store seems like a cool dude definitely wouldn’t mind hanging out at that place
Was a cool place
Great place!! I’m a local and everyone knows about the riverton party store!!
The Hard Truth 4 grain BIB is my new favorite. So good. Butterscotch and brownies. Amazing. Don’t know how they did it.
Binnys stores are amazing. Walked into one last year, stagg jr sitting there for $60. Grabbed it and got out as quick as I could. Generally though they all just have crazy inventory and always something new being put on the shelves (literally sometimes stuff just stocked left and right while your shopping)

Clark and Sheffield is where the 1st Binnys store was in Chicago The BIB is a solid pour for 30 bucks its one of my daily sippers
The Whiskey Acres 7 Year is a great pour! Their Blue Popcorn, Bloody Butcher, and Bottled-In-Bond are also solid picks.
Whiskey Acres Blood Butcher at the Binny's, That's always a buy and back it up.
Happy New Year Brewzle! Love the channel and wishing the channel continued growth. Just got into bourbon and you’ve made this journey incredibly fun and interesting.
Awesome! Thanks for hanging out with me and watching.
The Lou Holtz joke killed me. Go Bucks!
That Screaming Titan is absolutely delicious!
Come back to Illinois!
Hit Bloomington and then try the Bourbon Hall in a little town LeRoy!
Scott and Jen are the best!
It’s a supercool place!!!!!
welcome to the 217 Brewzle!! yall picked the arguably the best place to get a horse shoe in Springfield! my favorite thing to do is introduce my in laws to horse shoes when they come visit. but it is pretty slim pickins for bourbon around here without going to binnys or friar tucks.
Illinois native here, glad to see you enjoyed Binnys! Always my go to for whiskey hunting. I was lucky enough to pick up one of those 4 roses today!
Never thought I’d be the guy to jump in the comments and say you missed something but at the first store you went to, you skipped right over the Hard Truth Four Grain. It’s incredible.
D’arcy’s Pint Shoe is a MUST.
42:05 - lmao that dude got caught in the biggest lie ever and was doing backflips to get out of that conversation. "Oh, I'm here for bourbon, but you can't follow me, or ask me about it."
i thought that was great lol

Costco in Illinois had Old Grand Dad 16 for $190 recently. Binny’s is a great store with a great selection.
The Friar Tuck here in Bloomington is a lovely museum. 200 for Blanton’s, 525 for 12 year Jack. Keep it.
I am a native if Paducah, KY but currently reside in Bloomington-Normal, IL. Wish I was home in B-N and I would have escorted you around town.. We also have a Binny's and Friar Tuck plus some local shops. Really enjoy your videos.
The a1 in Effingham wasn't what I expected to hear. They're amazing and have a ton of store picks
Just stumbled across this. I reside in Springfield gonna have to go check out the Riverton Party Stop. Enjoyed the video!
When you hit Iowa, if you don't leave with a least a bottle of Cedar Ridge bourbon it will be shameful. Distilled just outside of Iowa City, IA. Delicious.
you'll have to wait and see :).
Problem is their Single Malt is their best 😂😮 QuintEssential is fantastic
Good ol' Central Illinois. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
Even Brewzle gets the full Binnys experience. 😂 secret handshakes only
That first store was super cool, would definitely check them out
36:14 still 630 is definitely worth a visit! Would recommend! They also have solid whiskey
Very impressed with binnys.
I'ma have to find one.

2 hours north of springfield! Glad to see you came out!
The Whiskey Acres Blue Popcorn is very good! They also have a bottle and Bond that is excellent!
So apparently, I didn’t even know there are a few local distilleries around me down here in Florida and you have inspired me to go check out some of the whiskeys there there’s even a small whiskey from a Polish family who immigrated here to Florida. I can’t wait to try.
But what did Binny's guy get?! 😆
Typical gatekeeper
He got the hell outta there! 😂
A capri sun😂

Glad to see you trying the still 630. You should do a tour of Hermann Mo theres 4 distilleries right there. They dont disappoint
Yes, you can bottle in bond vodka but it has to go into a parifin lined barrel for 4 years and bottled at 100 proof etc.
A buddy bought me a FEW bottles - really enjoyed it - liked it better than Heaven Hill 7-year
Can't wait until you get to Iowa. Hopefully you will stop in Cedar Rapids. Cedar Ridge Distillery would love to have you. I hope I can get to see you.
That Redwood Empire Screaming Titan is one of my favorite bottles I own!
Thumbs up just for the Space Balls reference.
Ain’t no living like a living. Thanks for stopping by. 🇺🇸
The Screaming Titan is amazing!!
Always a great hunt with you! Im upset you passed on that Fireball Bonded pink top! 🤣🤣🤣
Get the Old Monroe rye! Still 630 is getting better and better. That Ralley Point maple finish is good.
If you are headed up to Northern Illinois, you need to check out Gold Eagle in Libertyville, IL. Outstanding family owned shop!
Awesome first stop. What a great store!
I received a basil 10 year as a gift and it was surprisingly tasty.
Another great hunt, always enjoyable to watch!
The Lou Holtz joke had me dying love you Brewzle!
That’s one of my favorite stores! Jeb is the man!
Hey TJ next time you are in central Illinois go to Oak and Flame bourbon hall in Le Roy. They have a bottle shop and in the back a bourbon bar with lots of pours.
May have to stop in Riverton on my way home to see my folks in Decatur. Also that cashier at Hyvee is a friend of mine small world!
I was in Jacksonville, Florida yesterday and visited the Total Wine near St John’s Towncenter. Great store, nice selection, and good customer service. I wasn’t filming so I’m not sure how they would act about the camera, but still a positive experience.

And they are usually finishes that aren’t your run of the mill finishes that every company seems to be doing these days.
You need to check out Oak & Flame in LeRoy, Illinois. It's on your way to Chicago, half way between Bloomington and Champaign.
The hogsworth is actually pretty unique if you see it, worth trying for sure
18:26 boys are buzzin! Lol
i just picked up a bottle of the magnus finished in sherry and cognac really enjoy it once in a while
Funny you say that. I just read on Reddit someone begging Binny's to head south because they hated Total Wine.
This is top 5!
Whiskey Everywhere! 😂
5:23 Ironfish is an awesome distillery in northern Michigan. They have great bourbons and ryes finished in maple barrels and are creative with different casks. If you find a barrel strength store pick, it’s a must buy!
Just got an EH Taylor small batch bib and an Eagle Rare pick from your favorite Raley's in the Reno area for around $120 out the door. Pretty excited
The Dark Arts Single Malt is fanatic!! I'm not a fan of SM, but that one is absolutely delicious. Peach, carmel Apple with a finish that last for ever.
I have a double oak - white oak finish RedLine that is absolutely fantastic. It was a local store pick bottle
13:09 Always great to see Chattanooga Whiskey show up in one of your hunts!
That Old Grand Dad is everywhere here for $199 or less. Stores struggle to sell it even at that price. Weird seeing places there charging more.
My Coy Hill is 133 proof. I've seen them around at 130+ in my area, but I think those are the later barrels they shipped. The earlier barrels were mostly 120s
😂 What's a Horseshoe, I think you picked the best place to find out. Springfield resident here, wish I would have ran into you guys.
Binnys are fantastic stores. Not all are created equal. My favorite one is in Chicago. The South Loop location. Hit Ricobene's for lunch before or after , get the Chicken Vesuvio Sandwich you will thank me
Dublin Pub in Springfield has the best buffalo chicken shoe if your ever back through
Iron Fish is my every day go to bourbon. I love it!
Few is really solid. The bar I work at in Champaign, IL did a barrel pick of it a few years back and was a big hit
Horseshoes are incredible!! Definitely the pork tenderloin.
garrison bros ladybird is a great bottle.
You can get that Weller for under 6 G’s at Costco in Houston. No need to try to negotiate it down to $7450 😂
Good choice with Darcy’s Pint. I go work the Hamburger horseshoe.
I love Black Band. It's awesome.
Buffalo chicken (with blue cheese dip) is the Shoe of choice.
That Horseshoe was surprising
@@Brewzle, if you ever make it back to Springfield and it's before 2pm, check out Charlie Parkers and get the breakfast horseshoe.
I've passed on multiple bottles of old grand dad 16. Still multiple available at $189.99 in northern Indiana
Love watching your videos. And I don't even drink liquor
Sell a ton of sazerac stuff like fireball consistently and you'll probably get bigger allocations. I run a Walmart Liquor Store. BTAC is typically once a year. My store got 21 bottles. Also in florida if that matters
Your kinda famous now 🍾 glad prices coming down it got crazy
+1 to VA Distilley Company Courage & Conviction being the best American single malt!
RPS is the place, Jeb is the best!!!
Blaum brothers in Illinois is fantastic
I go to Illinois every few months north of Chicago. The prices in Illinois are better than most any other places I see. Lots of nice places to go too. You should get to Dekalb, IL to do the tour for Whiskey Acres. Nice place.
Woodman's in Aurora right off the express way (88) and royal liquor on Indian trail in Aurora have good selections
@boostamante64 I’ve been meaning to hit up Aurora when I’m there. Gonna make a note of those places to go to for sure. (Hopefully soon)
my hometown! glad you got a horseshoe🫡
Love your bourbon hunt videos. Need to come to CO!
