I'll be on the lookout, but today was the best bourbon hunting day of my life. I live in Nashville, but I own property in Huntsville, Alabama, and had to take care of some business there. While I was waiting, I stopped by the ABC store. The clerk was stacking bottles on a big table out front, and she said all the ABC stores had to clear all of the 2024 allocated bottles out. There are 10 ABC stores in Huntsville, and I hit everyone . I bought 2 GTS 2024, 2 Rockhill farms, 1 Eagle Rare 17, 2 Parkers Heritage 14, 1 Pappy 12, 1 Blantons straight from the barrel, 2 Kluke batch 10, 1 EH Taylor barrel proof, 1 EH Taylor BIB , 1 Weller FP, 1 Weller 107, 1 Old Fitzgerald 8 year, 2 Old Forester 1924 and 2 Old Forester single barrel all were at MSRP. I could've bought more, but this day had already gotten out of hand.
I will be looking for the Jack Daniel's releases for sure. This year I will be slowing down on my purchases for sure and turning more towards store picks.
I'm still searching for a Larceny C batch from this year, all the shops still have the A batch sitting on the shelves here. Looking foward to hunting a Penelope Havana and the JD14.
I’ll be looking for the Jack Daniels releases. I really like Stagg, so I will be on the lookout for those too. Hopefully the later Elijah Craig BPs will have a higher age and proof, if not I’ll pass.
I got an ECBP toasted store pick a few months ago. Had really high hopes, but mine was a let down. Tasted next to C924, it just couldn’t hang. I’ll try one more if I see another pick, but if the 2nd one’s a dud…I won’t be buying again
@@FriarPop I think a lot of people are getting confused. They have started to release EC Barrel Proof Toasted. So it is not the regular EC Toasted that you see on the shelves. For example, mine is a 10 yr toasted single barrel at about 120proof
The Fomo and hype has definitely worn off for me. In the last year, I’ve gotten more selective on what I purchase. I usually get each ECBP release and 1-2 Larceny batches per year. Outside of that, I just buy store picks locally, and if I win a raffle here or there great, but I’m not doing as much hunting around as in past years. I’ve pretty much written off Buffalo Trace, don’t care about any of their new releases that I won’t be able to find, and the allocated stuff I can find once or twice a year from them I’ve just determined to be somewhat mediocre for me these days.
In your opinion is starting to mean less. When I first started watching you you wasn’t so high on BTAC but now you just another rider of the hype train. In my opinion ECBP is just as good as BTAC and I seen a bottle that said it was a 13 year old. Since it is a barrel proof they have to be a single barrel. Each as you know can be different
Hey Rob! So the barrel proof Elijah Craig’s are small batches. The one you are referring to I believe is the C923 which was 13 years and 7 months. Great bottle for sure! But that is not a single barrel since it is wide spread for the vast majority. I’m sorry you feel like my opinion is meaning less to you. As a bourbon reviewer: if I get a bottle whether or not it’s allocated or not I’ve always done reviews of them. From $20 to $200 I believe all bottles deserve a review. Now if I treat myself to a higher priced allocated bottle of course I’m going to be a little more excited to do the review because that’s just human nature. Cheers brotha hope that helps
Lmao. It's a $69 bottle of HH aged atleast 9 years and you won't buy one. Lmao. Find something else with that age and quality better. You won't. I'll buy all the ones you don't

Damn man.. that is some luck.. I bet the people who signed up for the lotteries and camped out didnt get that many allocated bottles..
Wow
😮😮😮
Nice haul! Which locations?
Congrats!! 🎉
Thanks for the videos. Former NJ native thank you for the NJ content.
I'm over the hype on most everything. Gonna just cherry pick gems off Seelbachs most likely and try my luck at my local annual raffle.
Old Carter is all I’m hyped up about
I'm going to grab the EC and Larceny A125's. I'd love to get any of those Jacks. Great video cheers!🥃
Cheers to you! Hopefully you get lucky and snag some of the jacks! Cheers steve!
JD 10 & 12.
I personally enjoyed ecbp c924 this year
I hope u get everything wanted for Bourbon bro👍❤️
I was looking for a Weller Antique 107 last year. This year I was able to snag a Weller Antique 107 store pick.
I will be looking for the Jack Daniel's releases for sure. This year I will be slowing down on my purchases for sure and turning more towards store picks.
Just picked up a bottle of ECBP today at Total Wine, age statement on mine is 11 years.
My local store just put out their Elijah Craig BP Toasted barrel pick and it’s really a nice pour!
I'm still searching for a Larceny C batch from this year, all the shops still have the A batch sitting on the shelves here. Looking foward to hunting a Penelope Havana and the JD14.
Me personally, I thought the A was much better but taste is subjective.
Looking forward to Penelope Havana & Penelope Wheatec
Same! I have high hopes for them

I get ya on that! I hope the Stagg releases are over 130 proof this year
Just saw a pallet of cases of JD 14. Get ready
Did you get to try out the military Jack Daniels from Coy Hill? Only solid in military package stores.
The Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Proof is no joke
I have a Binnys store pick of it
Toasted is a shelfer and not special at all. Doesnt make anyones top 100.

@@geland1 c924 is exceptional and basically won bourbon of the year, but the toasted is just a better than average shelfer.

I am going for the double eagle very rare and jack 14
Still looking for Penelope Single Barrel
I've been hearing since last September about the JD14 release. IDK what the delay is........
I got a Larceny single barrel at you do bourbon at Hh, absolute banger
They’re so good for the price
I’ll be happy to get a 1924
I hope you get one!

Age ain’t nothing but a number. You smirk at the 10 year 7 month bottle yet kowtow for a 10 year Michters LOL
I'm passing on ECBP under 12 yrs or if reviews are glowing.
I hear you, I'm all about the older stuff, but there are definitely some gems in the younger releases.

ECBP is no longer special and doesn't stand out from private single barrels. Skip and get the ECBP Toasted picks.
LMAO to this comment, no... toasted isnt in anyones top 100.
Gonna be passing on all those except the JD14... Fool me once shame on you..
Lord Calvert
And I thought JD 10,12 were hard to find… sheesh that 14 high proof is going to be impossible
Have still yet to find a 10 for under $200 and a 12 for less than $300. No way.
Just wait for the DJ15 in 2026 lol $500

OF 1924
I hope you can snag one!
Man everytime I see OF I think it’s Only Fans 😂
@ sent all my contacts down here in SNJ the lookout for 1924 and the Jack 12 and 14. Maybe I’ll see u at the Wilco Stagg party
JD 14 was suppose to be out in 2024
No it wasn’t
@@Ona1000 Yes it was.
I, as a realistic bourbon consumer, will not buy an ECBP that is less than 12 years. Ever.
Im like that too. I'd rather buy a local pick instead
They will still sell out
