Guys, I found the issue. In android car settings, remove T-Link app from „Default Navigation App”. You can’t actually de-select it, so just choose something else, I selected „photos” randomly. Now I can hear caller through car speakers using carplay

Hello. The problem with my unit is that when I call through the carplay there's a huge amount of echo that my caller is hearing. My original BMW bluetooth has a much better balanced call quality. I tried to reduce MIC gain but haven't found a nice setting. But both of my bluetooth (OEM and Android) are connected and I can change the one I use through my iphone. Can I do something for this?

Hi, on my head unit in sound menu (10:35 on your video) I have preset max limits for media, call, ring and alarm so I cannot set them to max as you did. If I move the sliders to max, They always return to preset value. Please can you help me, how to “unlock” to max? Where in android setings I can change the different sound limits? Thank you

Hi there, thanks for getting back to me. There are many other Android users heaving the same issue as me. Both apps (Spotify aand Google maps) are installed on the Android unit and on my phone. The problem occurs when my phone is connected wired or wireless with Android Auto on my unit. At the start is fine, music plays but when Google maps say command the Spotify mutes and doesn't play music anymore. I have just one Bluetooth connection with Android Auto only. When you using built in CarPlay (Zlink), the Android WiFi will turn to off automatically. If you like to connect the Android screen to internet always, recommend use the 4G LTE

Great channel. I have zlink running on my android screen in a MB CLA200. Music and everything works fine on CarPlay, but phone call audio only comes through for 1 second then silence. All other sounds are ok, just phone calls no sound. Any suggestions?? Thank you!
You can check if your iPhone connected to original car Bluetooth or not , if yes, disconnect it ( or disable the connection to OEM Bluetooth), CarPlay not allow to connect to Bluetooth at the same time .

You installed that small speaker? 3) When you using Apple Carplay, you can play music first, and heard the sound in speakers, then you can make a call to other people, it also stop the sound in 1 seconds?
Hey mate. I have NTG 5.0 MB. I’ve connected everything correctly. CarPlay works, aux through usb works. But sometimes the sound doesn’t work. With video apps like TH-cam and Netflix I can’t ever get sound. I have gone through many settings trying to find why no sound with video. And not sure why sound sometime drop with audio apps. Do you have any suggestions?
It need to check in details. Like 1, if you have moved the optical fiber to new harness, 2, if you have connected the USB/ AUX adapter,3 the NTG 5.0 , it need to choose USB/ aux in original car menu first ( before you using the android screen). It need to check in details
I have a different error. It connects to carplay all good, then maybe it loses connection and I am not able to connect again using Bluetooth. Only was is to stop car wait 10 seconds for the android unit to stop and then start again the car and it will connect back. strange
You can check: if your phone also connected to OEM Bluetooth or other third party wireless devices. If yes , you can disconnect ( or disable) it . The phone should connect to CarPlay ONLY.

If the phone connected to CarPlay, but that time , you using other original functions, such as using CD functions ( original car function), and the AUX-IN not activated, in that case, a call coming, you might not heard the calls, because the Auxiliary is not work ( although your phone connected to CarPlay), in this video, I suggest to choose AUX, you can test it after selected the AUX ( and volume up).
Also, you should check the Microphone. Our model is built in MIC , according to our test, that is good enough. If you hook the external microphone to it, the built in microphone will not work, then you should well install the external microphone ( locate it near to driver’s head).
Hi Paul, when connected to CarPlay wireless (via zlink) I’d have to manually change the audio output from android Bluetooth to oem bluetooth on my phone to be able to hear the other party on a call. No issues when playing music. Any suggestions?
You might connected the phone to original BT at the same time, thus, it have this issue. The Carply not allow to use BT at the same time. If your phone connected to Carplay and when a call coming, you are using Carplay function (like listening the music), it work fine? according to my test, no need to change the audio in the cellphone. Because in that time, the AUX is actived (you using Carplay). If your phone connected to Carplay, but you are not in Carplay mode, for example, you using original radio FM, and a call coming, you pick up the phone, it might no audio, since the AUX not actived. The Carplay (music / phone calls etc), the sound work via factory AUX.
Everything about CarPlay is great and works wonderfully. I love it except when I use the phone when I use the calling feature the other party here’s a terrible echo of their own voice. I tried everything to fix it, and nothing works. The only way it works is if I disconnect CarPlay and let Bluetooth connect and then there’s no more echo so I don’t know if it’s software or if it’s in the USB cord but if I connect to a wirelessly with that maybe fix the problem would you know have you dealt with this before?
@@jaredpoling3123 I have this too, did you find a solution? I saw on my phone that is connected to something called "localhost" instead of the BT of the unit. If i dont use Carplay but use the BT unit calling everything works fine. Also i can see the headunit BT on my phone as a audio output source instead of "localhost", so seems like my Carplay is broken like yours.

This case, you need to check if you have well connected the AUX or AMI cable , and if have chosen "AUX or AMI " in OEM menu, the sound for android screen work via AUX or AMI. Better to check your case with your seller, other people hard to know the details when you say so.

Android software version, for now , that is android 11. If you need to update it, you should contact your seller, normally, if that is no problem for current version, we not recommend to update it

Like others in the group, the audio works in the carplay function, the original radio is in aux but at the time of the call the audio of the call does not sound in the unit
If you using external CarPlay box , there is a setting “ compatible “ in settings, the path is : setting / advance settings/call audio properties. If you using the built in CarPlay (Zlink), to check if your seller offered you a small speaker, if you installed the speaker correctly.

I really hard to understand this. Think about it, if the small speaker really useless, how possible to design it? To install it just don't let the system without noise when using dualzone function and ensure everything can be work fine...

Maybe i connect the wire from small speaker to the middle oem speaker..... but first i look for your mentioned "( blue to blue, white to white cable)". You can check the volume settings for calls , in android settings; also, you can go to settings and have a reset for “ wifi Bluetooth mobile “ and try again; also, you can test if you using the Bluetooth ( instead of CarPlay), to see if that is in normal sound level. Since the Bluetooth and CarPlay using the same sound channel, if Bluetooth work fine , then you consider to update the Zlink version
Zlink does not allow connecting to bluetooth after you have connected to carplay or android auto. But bluetooth is used for calls in both carplay and AA. We are unable to make calls from car speaker and microphone after connecting via zlink. Is there any way to fix this?

I had a professional installer put in my new head unit. No sound will come through the speakers. The AUX/AMI is grayed out so it cannot be switched. Any ideas why this is happening would be greatly appreciated. I was able to connect phone and everything shows on screen but still not sound.

Everything on mine works apart from the phone calls the line is filled with static and the caller cannot hear me and the person who I got it installed from is not responding to texts or phone calls any thoughts??

Does the Android Carplay work if your car doesn't have any AUX installed - my car only has USB and Bluetooth I just found out. I just had the new Android system installed in my Mercedes CLA and the only way I have been able to get audio to work is by connecting my iphone using original car bluetooth. Then I can go to Android Carplay using ZLINK and it works but I need to manually reconnect constantly switching between original system and android system which is so frustrating. Also my reverse camera only works in original car system mode! Is there any way around all this? I'm seriously thinking of taking this system out but it cost me so much already!!! Please any help is much appreciated..... Daniel
For Mercedes NTG 4.5 Or 4.0, the sound work via AUX, If your car is NTG 5.0, The sound work via USB (should not work via Bluetooth), our model is this design, since I don't know your model, you can contact your seller directly. the camera is just the setting issue.

Zauważyłem ze działa tylko wtedy kiedy przywrócę ustawienia fabryczne ale tylko do zgaszenia samochodu i ekranu potem znów nie działa do ponownego resetu ustawień . @@HifimaxOfficial I have a problem with my zLink/Android From day to day, the voice suddenly stopped flying when I play TH-cam or Spotify, but when I pick up a call or listen to Google Maps messages, everything works, the problem is when I want to turn on music from YT or Spotify, there is no voice even though there is play on the screen. I noticed that it works only when I restore the factory settings, but only until the car and the screen are turned off, then it does not work again until the settings are reset. The Apple CarPlay itself without “ climate “ function, it can not always display the “ climate “ in CarPlay menu

You can reset the Bluetooth; but if the idrive also not work , that is other issues. Contact your supplier for support

can not access to BMW Menu? what is your car type ? if your model without OEM screen, it just set to "AUX" mode, then will be fine.

If your phone connected to Carplay, but you are not in Carplay mode, for example, you using original radio FM, and a call coming, you pick up the phone, it might no audio, since the AUX not actived.
The Carplay (music / phone calls etc), the sound work via factory AUX.
Everything about CarPlay is great and works wonderfully. I love it except when I use the phone when I use the calling feature the other party here’s a terrible echo of their own voice. I tried everything to fix it, and nothing works. The only way it works is if I disconnect CarPlay and let Bluetooth connect and then there’s no more echo so I don’t know if it’s software or if it’s in the USB cord but if I connect to a wirelessly with that maybe fix the problem would you know have you dealt with this before?
@@HifimaxOfficial no that’s not it. I’ve tried that when Apple CarPlay is connected to Bluetooth automatically shuts off and in my head unit.

I saw on my phone that is connected to something called "localhost" instead of the BT of the unit. If i dont use Carplay but use the BT unit calling everything works fine.
Also i can see the headunit BT on my phone as a audio output source instead of "localhost", so seems like my Carplay is broken like yours.

Hi Mate. I tried to reset my android head unit and I was able to connect to zlink app via usb. BTW mine is an Android 10 px6 zwnav head unit. When I was able to connect to zlink, I have no sound coming out of my head unit. How can I fix it? Thanks

CarPlay dongle itself without microphone, the volume for calls , it should to check the volume settings for android screen.

This case, you need to check if you have well connected the AUX or AMI cable , and if have chosen "AUX or AMI " in OEM menu, the sound for android screen work via AUX or AMI. Better to check your case with your seller, other people hard to know the details when you say so.

Like others in the group, the audio works in the carplay function, the original radio is in aux but at the time of the call the audio of the call does not sound in the unit
If you using external CarPlay box , there is a setting “ compatible “ in settings, the path is : setting / advance settings/call audio properties. If you using the built in CarPlay (Zlink), to check if your seller offered you a small speaker, if you installed the speaker correctly.

I really hard to understand this. Think about it, if the small speaker really useless, how possible to design it? To install it just don't let the system without noise when using dualzone function and ensure everything can be work fine...

You can check the volume settings for calls , in android settings; also, you can go to settings and have a reset for “ wifi Bluetooth mobile “ and try again; also, you can test if you using the Bluetooth ( instead of CarPlay), to see if that is in normal sound level. Since the Bluetooth and CarPlay using the same sound channel, if Bluetooth work fine , then you consider to update the Zlink version

Zlink does not allow connecting to bluetooth after you have connected to carplay or android auto. But bluetooth is used for calls in both carplay and AA. We are unable to make calls from car speaker and microphone after connecting via zlink. Is there any way to fix this?

I had a professional installer put in my new head unit. No sound will come through the speakers. The AUX/AMI is grayed out so it cannot be switched. Any ideas why this is happening would be greatly appreciated. I was able to connect phone and everything shows on screen but still not sound.

Your car type is BMW? Built in CarPlay or external CarPlay? They are different

Does the Android Carplay work if your car doesn't have any AUX installed - my car only has USB and Bluetooth I just found out. I just had the new Android system installed in my Mercedes CLA and the only way I have been able to get audio to work is by connecting my iphone using original car bluetooth. Then I can go to Android Carplay using ZLINK and it works but I need to manually reconnect constantly switching between original system and android system which is so frustrating. Also my reverse camera only works in original car system mode! Is there any way around all this? I'm seriously thinking of taking this system out but it cost me so much already!!! Please any help is much appreciated..... Daniel
For Mercedes NTG 4.5 Or 4.0, the sound work via AUX, If your car is NTG 5.0, The sound work via USB (should not work via Bluetooth), our model is this design, since I don't know your model, you can contact your seller directly. the camera is just the setting issue.

Z dnia na dzień nagle przestał lecieć głos gdy puszczę TH-cam czy Spotify , ale gdy obieram połączenie lub słucham komunikatów Google Maps wszystko działa , problem jest wtedy kiedy chce włączyć muzykę z YT czy Spotify nie leci głos mimo że jest play na ekranie .
Zauważyłem ze działa tylko wtedy kiedy przywrócę ustawienia fabryczne ale tylko do zgaszenia samochodu i ekranu potem znów nie działa do ponownego resetu ustawień .

I have a problem with my zLink/Android
From day to day, the voice suddenly stopped flying when I play TH-cam or Spotify, but when I pick up a call or listen to Google Maps messages, everything works, the problem is when I want to turn on music from YT or Spotify, there is no voice even though there is play on the screen.
I noticed that it works only when I restore the factory settings, but only until the car and the screen are turned off, then it does not work again until the settings are reset.
