I used to listen to this in a little nipa hut in the Philippines when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer 1982 - 1984. Those very fond memories...Peace and Love
I was working in radio, they played in Binghamton...after the show...I get to hang with CSN and Joe Vitale and Michael Finnegan...it was an outstanding moment
The best intro!!…..this jam is my fav CSN tune! As a retired professional drummer from Los Angeles, the 70’s were (and still is) the best decade for real misic…
Thats for sure brother...here in South Africa....we were being forced into military service and war and you guys were pressed into Vietnam...the Rhodesians were being attacked from all everywhere.the politicians were lying and screwing everyone on all sides..nuclear war nearly popped because of the "CUBAN" crisis and we young people had enough....it was a marvellous thing to be part of...remember showing peace signs and smiling at everyone....I mourn the loss of that music...that vibe...today is 100 % plastic...there is no music...there is no vibe.... I would like to ask you to look up an American muso /poet of that time...he was a huge hit in SA and Rhodesia and unbelievably he was unknown in the US....he had an agent who ripped him off...there is a documentary on him called " searching for Sugarman*Our lives are short now...losing friends along the way....I havent said this for nearly 40 years.....but PEACE brother.pS...I never got hitched or fathered kids so have been able to live a life as true as possible to my values as a person....spent incredible years in African bush and veld and hitch hiked SA,Botswana,Namibia, zimbabwe(rhodesia),zambia etc...back in ghe days of no tourism...what a pleasure.Everytime I lose an old friend I listen to our music and remember special times shared.May your life be filled with real music...dont forget about RODRIGUEZ....the album COLD FACT is good stuff.Humba kahle (look it up under zulu language)...speaking of zulu....listen Johnny clegg and juluka and later savuka. Also listen to some south african kwela music..from 60 s and 70 s .
