Witchbrook and Haunted Chocolatier are the only ones I am really looking forward to. Ive been following Witchbrook waiting for its release for 2 years now.
Witchbrook has me so excited (Haunted Chocolatier as well obviously) and I super cannot wait for any information about their release date. 😊 I'm hoping we get a gameplay trailer very soon!
I think a good addition to the lisft would be PuffPals: Island Skies, i think it is still in alpha testing after their kickstarter campaign. It seems it will also have a chill gameplay, cute aesthetic, pets, farming and such, im looking forward to it owo
(also what a good video! im gonna check out all of these games or at least wishlist them owo
I'll have to look into that one!! It sounds cute ☺️ and thank you for your compliment! I put a lot of effort into this and I'm happy to provide some good marketing for these games and have people enjoy the video. Most of them are on my wishlist too 😌
This is the one I’m most excited about!!
Really like the look of Witchbrook, Haunted Chocolatier, Wish Upon a Llama and Fields of Mistria! Have also been keeping up with Chef RPG’s game development since Noah’s early videos, so I’m really looking forward to that too.
I'm so excited for all of those! Fields of Mistria looks so cute. And of course Witchbrook and Haunted Chocolatier has everyone on the seat of their chairs waiting for even an idea of a release date. 😍 but honestly can't wait for any of em
Everyone who sees this needs to be playing Palia! Farming is genuinely a relatively small part of the game with everything in perspective, as the ingredients are used for cooking and selling. The customization of your land plot is immense and everything is unlocked as you further progress the game. more than anything, the best part of Palia is the relationships you building with the characters. Everyone in the game can be befriended to four levels and there are a ton of romance options that aren't mutually exclusive. Everything takes so much effort that it's nearly impossible to run out of things to do, and I've never been bored while I play. The main quests are so engaging and there are constant updates coming out. The only negative thing I can really say is that since it's in Beta, there are quite a number of game play and visual bugs to be found. but again. Beta. There's more content in the unpublished game than I've seen in some finished paid games. And this one is completely free!!
If you've heard anything about a cash shop, just know that it is for cosmetics exclusively and the existing clothing wardrobe without paying is already immense and customizable, so there's no reason to buy anything unless you want the special outfits.
Try Palia!!!
I appreciate this very informative post 😊 you've sold me! Lol. I love that the game gives tons of a customization and enables you to play with your friends and enjoy the townsfolks personality 😊 thank you again!!
Can’t wait for so many of these games! Here’s hoping they stick to their estimated deadlines
I hope so too! Some of these are so cute. It's hard for me not to want to play them all 😂
I’m hoping that Winds of Anthos is gonna bring the Natsume Harvest Moon games back on track. Since the Marvelous/Natsume split, I haven’t really had an interest in the Natsume games. They just didn’t have the same charm that Marvelous had when they made the games ya know? I’m actually liking the look of Winds of Anthos, and I had heard a rumor that a handful of people who had worked for Marvelous helped/moved to Natsume and helped work on this one? Idk, but I’ll give this one a shot
Ooh that is am interesting rumor! I wouldn't be surprised if it's true. I know the devs have been pretty receptive to their community's wants and opinions. It really does look like a comeback, and I'm pretty impressed with the graphics as well, and the different mechanics they have in the game that apparently they've been working on for a while. I honestly can't wait to try it out next month!
So many of these look so cute, and I like how there are different styles, and a few of them having a darker aesthetic!
And a lot more multiplayer ones than I would expect too tbh
Also, Loftia looks so much better seeing the video preview than the screenshots 😅 (also a cooler theme, with a solar/hydro focus!)
I know! There's so many cool games that are coming out. I love that companies are branching out into different styles too.
And yes, Loftia's pictures definitely don't compare to the actual video! It's such a cute game, I really think it's gonna be a game changer. They've already raised so much money on their Kickstarter. Got me pumped for 2024 for their early access. 😌
I've been playing Palia for a week (it's in open beta now) and totally love it so far.
I've heard really good things about it, and people can't wait for full release! I definitely need to get in there and try it myself now that it's in open beta :)
honestly, i'm really looking forward to trying Palia out, i think it could be a really fun lil adventure
I think so too! We're coming into a new sub-genre for farming sims that make it available to play with friends on a larger scale (mmo) and it's so good! I'm excited for what this means in the future with Paloa, and upcoming Loftia (2025)
Fields of mysteria, Moonlight Peaks, harvest moone one, Haunted Chocolatetaire, and Witchbrook are ones I am interested in getting when available
Me too! I made a new video that has all but one of those in there again 😂 so I definitely want them out!
These games remind me of my childhood lol. Moonlight Peaks looks really cool I think ill try that one out!!! Good vid Skippy.
Thank you very much 🤗 I love moonlight peaks and the vampire aspect. Can't wait to see all the romance-able characters. 😁
The ranchers labeled as loftia but showed correctly in the time stamp. I'm most looking forward to fae farm but most of these look good. You did a great job of finding some I haven't heard about yet too.
Thank you!! I'm happy you found some new games from this 😄 I am sorry about the label error (oopsies) but the timestamp is kinda more important for people going through the video so at least the rest matches up.
As for Fae Farm, I think its gonna be great! Its definitely one a lot of people are looking forward to, including myself. Thanks again for the comment. 😊
I hadn't heard of Wish Upon a Llama. That looks really cute. I wish listed it.
I absolutely cannot wait for Wish Upon a Llama! 😁🤗🦙 its definitely gonna be one I check out
Good Addition to the list for the dino lovers is PaleoPines! With befriend dinos, an great storyline and building up an abandoned ranch, its very relaxing cute dinos as well as the dinos help you garden and clean up your ranch! over 600 colors for dinos! It comes out Sept 26th 2023 for all platforms, currently there is a demo!~
I saw that one after! It does look super cute! Thanks for letting us know what it's about too, and that the dinos help hou. :) I imagine it will do well on release. I'll keep it in my mind on release day to make a post about it here and on Twitter.
I haven't heard of at least three of these!!! So great job!
Thank you so much! 🤗 I'm happy you got to find out about some!
Kitori academy is shaping up well too! I think it’s heading into alpha soon.
Oh yes! That one looks really good :) I will keep that in mind
literally cannot WAIITTT FOR moonlight peaks! looks amazing n the demo is sooo cute
I know! I did play the demo and it was so much fun. I can't wait for a bigger demo to explore the town and of course the full release :)
this is excellent, thanks so much for creating this vid :)
You're welcome 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed!
Not necessary and just my personal opinion, but I think there should either be a pinned comment with the links to each of the games in the order you talked about them, timestamps listing each of the games you talk about, or a list of links in the description for each of the games you talk about. Yeah, the viewers can get all that information themselves, but when I saw a game in your video that I was interested in and IMMEDIATELY went to look for any of the three things I mentioned, I realized how common they are in videos like this and how trained I am to look for these things.
Another option; having chapters in the video for each game. I don't know how that works or if it's a difficult thing to do though.
Thanks for this input! I was considering doing this but I honestly wasn't sure if anybody would actually make use of it because I've seen some TH-camrs do it and some that didn't. I will get into this implementation as I can add this info easily to the video and its description. :) I appreciate your opinion and it will help others in the future!
BTW, I just added all the timestamps and links so if you missed out on finding some you can come back here now and click 😊
A lot of these I never heard of. Great video!
Thank you so much 😊 I'm glad you found the video useful. And hopefully found a new game too!
went and wishlisted Fields of Mistria, it looks simple yet cute and aesthetic! c:
I already had Chef RPG and Witchbrook wishlisted, really looking forward to these games once they release. :)
So am I! I love how Fields of Mistria looks, I really can't wait for that one either. :) Chef RPG and definitely Witchbrook are on my radar for release dates, too!
Chronomon Dev here. Thanks for the cover!
Of course! Thank you for watching! :)
Thank you for the list!
You're welcome! 😊
thank you for full list!
You're welcome 😊 I'm glad you found it helpful!
Looking forward to Loftia, Palia The Ranchers and Litchi Town
Me too!! I'm also low key really liking Fields of Mistria 😄
5:00 which I love. I don't want violence :)
Great video, thank you!
Then that one is perfect for you! You're very welcome :)
Witchbrook, Chef RPG and of course haunted chocolatier my cant wait games.🎉
Me neither! I really can't wait for more Witchbrook stuff! I'd be super happy with a gameplay trailer
Cant wait!
I think Tales of Seikyu may be a good addition to the list, too
I'll look into that one!! Thanks :)
Yooooo good vid!
Thank you 🤗
Thanks for the video, it was a good summary of a lot of games
You're welcome! Thanks for the comment, and I'm happy you found the video useful. 😊
Can't wait for Palia!
They all look fun!! I can't wait to play them!
I'm glad 😊 I think they look awesome too!
Palia, Mirthwood & H M looks good for me. There´s a lot of farming games!! Just need more time xD
If I wanted ANYTHING, it would be more time! I'm really excited for Mirthwood since it's a bit different than some others, that's for sure! And Fields of Mistria, Wish Upon a Llama, and a few others too!
Damn theres so many games that I want to try here. I'm gonna make a list for myself so I remember:
-Pixelshire
-Space Chef
-Cat Tails: Wildwood Story
-Fields of Mistria
-Witchbrook
-Haunted Chocolatier
I know! And I've only found so many more in the last few weeks. Looking at a part 2 😂
I love your choices btw! Fields of Mistria is so cute, and of course Witchbrook and Haunted Chocolatier
Great list! Idk if it’s just me, but I don’t find anything “cozy” about combat and really don’t like that it’s a trend that “cozy” games make it a habit to include it. It’s not like you’re fighting regular animals that you would on a farm and in most of the cozy games, there’s not even a reason for there to be combat. I’m looking forward to Palia, Pixelshire, Mirthwood, Witchbrook, and Chef RPG. Hopefully by the time these games come, I’ll have a steam deck lol.
I definitely agree that I feel some games add specific features to their games in order to fill in what other games in the genre have, and sometimes that isn't always a good thing. I also think any game can be "cozy" if it's one you enjoy and can bunker down, get the vibes right and let yourself slip away into, whether it's farming, a great RPG, or somewhere in between with simulation-based games. I'm personally looking forward to Fields of Mistria, Chef RPG, Witchbook, Wish Upon a Llama and a ton of other ones. Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it! :)
I cant wait for chef rpg! You didn't show a lot of good stuff that game is offering. Im so stoked to play that game
I think in my next video for new games, I am going to dive a little deeper (depending if its available) I may shorten my list so I can take longer at talking about each game. We'll see! I am super excited for it too :)
So looking forward to Loftia
Me too! I think it's going to be a big game changer in terms of cultivating this type of subgenre within these types of games.
I'll wishlist all of this for sure😌😌
They're all so great it's hard not to. 😊
Having played Palia in Beta, I can say a lot of the items shown in the trailers are heavily tied to the cash shop :c It really sucks how much they put in there and how little ans basic you get in game. Some builds are also tied to in real life time, it reminded me of mobile game timers. I had to wait 8 hours to have my house upgraded after spending a few hours gathering and crafting material. It's a huge let down imo.
Ooooh yeah, I definitely understand that. Some people do like the real-time effect but I understand why a lot dont, especially on a PC game. Another game infamous for this was Life is Fuedal. As for cash shop items, it is to be expected with free to play, and hopefully doesn't turn to pay to win. I am hopeful more content comes equally in free items/experiences and paid in the future!
I am confused by this, only clothes are cash shop items, nothing else. As for waiting a few hours for something to be built, isn't that what happens in real life? You aren't stuck unable to do anything.
@@chokolatelatte4764pets are cash shop only and you can’t gain new clothing through f2p gameplay. They also made promises in the beginning as a part of their dev culture they wouldn’t do shady stuff. Yet we have coin bundle purchases lol.
Hi, could you upload the kickstarter launch trailer wholesome out and about? It's an upcoming cozy and educational game, so you won't feel guilty when playing it 😁. In this game you learn plant identification for foraging as well does it provide cooking and crafting recipes for real life. Also it broadens your farming knowledge like not so many other farming games does for instance it teaches companion planting (which plants should be planted next to each other for them to grow better). Moreover, if you like romance it will be included as well. Currently they are running their kickstarter campaign and they are very to close in reaching the switch port. 😀
Out and About is going to be in my next video! I appreciate you letting me know more about the game, as I haven't started researching deep into my list yet to start the video process :) I am really excited for this one as it's super cute and I am now even more impressed with its horticultural advancement in comparison to other games. 😄 stay tuned
@@yeahSkippy Thank you for covering it. I as well love especially the part of plant identification since I am interested in it, but I am a passive learner. 🤣
Thank you!
You're welcome 😄 I hope you found a new game to anticipate!
@@yeahSkippy I absolutely did! I love videos like these because I can only play certain types of games due to balance issues and vertigo. These types of videos are super helpful to me. ❤
Oh then these are definitely helpful, especially when you can see the gameplay before you buy. I'm happy to give you another video to watch. I'll probably do more in the future, come beginning of 2024 for sure!
Skippy you're a silly buns Palia is already out and launched xD but yeah it is alil janky right now. Best to go in with a grain of salt. I'll give it about 7/10 because it will need sitting and other emotes so we can have more of a chilling comfortable experience with friends. I wanna be able to sip cocoa..
Oh and I'm definitely getting fae farm next >w
Only in early access for pc. It doesn't launch fully everywhere until the holidays.
A "silly buns" made me laugh 🤣 but yes it is in a Closed Beta still. I requested a Key so we'll see if I end up getting it! I'm sure once its fully released in a few months it will have way less issues and be more fleshed out. That's the good thing about a closed Beta, is you can try the game and help the devs fix the minor issues before they add all the content in release (at least that's how it works a lot of times) 🙂
@@yeahSkippy That's weird... It says open beta on the site. The official discord said it's open beta as well. Do you live perhaps outside the US?
@@yeahSkippy Now I feel like probing for deeper information on the discord xD dont worry I'm liked by most on there.
Hey you missed out on Edengrall, it got a huge update recently
Thanks for letting me know! There's so many games its hard to keep track :)
chef rpg and fields of mistria
Absolutely ☺
🎉
CORAL ISLAND also
Pixelshire and Harvest Moon
Pixelshire is so cute 🤗 I love the terraforming aspect. And I agree on HM, I can't wait to try it out!
Why isn't My Time at Sandrock not in the video?
It's the same genre and is now in early access, coming out next month.
When I was doing my research, I didnt consider it because it was in early access already on steam since May. In comparison with Palia, at the time of recording it was in closee-beta access only. It definitely deserves to be on here tho! There were a couple that slipped through, such as Moonstone Island as well. There is always room for them to be in a recap of 2023 since some of the games on this list dont debut until next year, or may get pushed back as frequently does happen with development. I will definitely keep My Time at Sandrock in my notes. 😊
Daomei Village looks unique I wish it can port to Mobile
It looks really cool! I wouldn't doubt it's possible, I guess it depends on the devs and how much success they get on release.
I hope these are all available on the switch ❤
I know there are definitely some that are, or will be after release! I wish they all were too.
I wonder how many of these games will be online co-op.
In this list, thatd be Palia, Fae Farm and Loftia confirmed. Palia is free-to-play and out now in Beta, and Fae Farm is available for purchase on many platforms including Nintendo Switch! 😊
Another co-op game I just covered in my new video is Cozynauts which should release soon.
The ranchers will most probably be postponed to 2024 at least
I am sad to hear that! It has so many great elements to it. Fingers crossed its early 2024, and I am hopeful it will be worth the wait in terms of gameplay and optimization.
I wish this genre would see more games like "Graveyard Keeper" or generally darker, more mature settings. Base building has been my one fav mechanic in games since I've started playing over 20 years ago and I would love to see more games implement it as more than an afterthought but so far only the "cozy" type does it well. Good as that is I don't personally like cozy, silly settings all that much maybe I'm too old I don't know, or maybe it's because in those cozy settings characters or story are rarely ever fleshed out beyond a point of "it's a town with cute npcs" and to me that's just not interesting at all. (Shootout to "My Time at" series for taking it more seriously despite the games being above all silly)
Ah man I suppose best medicine for my starvation of dark and gritty town/farm sims will be to learn to code and write them myself.
The cozy games genre does have a lack of darker aesthetics, which is why I appreciate Mirthwood a lot in this video. I also think the title "cozy game" can be used too narrowly to peg games that are very similar to Harvest Moon, Stardew, etc., and especially the ones that are "just a town with cute npcs" lol. I really enjoy the games that go a step further in their own direction as well, and I do appreciate building aspects to games too. If I could give you some suggestions, I would check out Harvest Island which is recently released, and REKA, labeled as coming soon. Those you may find inline with Graveyard Keeper, and other dark, mature farm & build RPGs!
@@yeahSkippy I'll check them out thanks!
You're welcome 😊
Are any of these set to be free on the Switch after release? I know Palia is free, but any other game free apart from that?
I am not too sure about the rest of them! I imagine not, since I think the games would advertise it early on. However, I am in the planning process of making a free games list in the future 😊
Next, next😂
I didnt wanna say "2nd, 3rd, etc." Because I wasn't sure which order I'd put them in 😅
Sadly I don’t have PC hopefully they come in Nintendo switch as well
A good amount of them do, and some I read were in the process of having availability to Switch (Loftia) 😄 so I'm sure you'll have a good amount to choose from!
Wait, how is Coral Island not included in this video?
I didnt include Coral Island or any other game that had already been available with early access. Palia was still in a closed public Beta when I created the majority of this video, and is the only one that was available to play when I posted it. But Coral Island is iconic, and I may add it to another video of mine in the future
@@yeahSkippy Oh, I got it now. Thank you for replying my comment.
@@SuperKizoku of course 😊 I appreciate your concern for such a beloved game!
I hope we can play these on Android 😢
What about on Android?
Too many to play; not enough time!😅
Absolutely! 😅
So many games so little time and energy
I know! I've had to narrow it down to 5 for myself, hopefully I can manage that 😂
Where is "farlands"(steam game)?
I hadn't seen that one! I will add it to my current list of updates 😁 thanks for telling me about it!
Palia kinda sucks, I'm afraid.
I didn't like it either. Cozy doesn't have to mean boring...
I am thinking they will have the game more fleshed out by actual release, which is Holiday of this year. That's still a few months away! But I understand it, like many games, aren't for everyone. 🤗
@@yeahSkippywhen you say holiday of this yr, what month actually? is that christmas season?
@@mayumitmarikit I would assume so! That was their official statement back when the Open Beta became available. I don't think there's been any update since then, or that I can find online. Hope this helps!
My time at portia did better than most of those 2020+ games. Too bad they dont keep update/DLC, just abandon and move on to my time at sandrock with dosent have the same charm.
I aways think my time at portia should be the 3D stardrew valley, but thx to the devs just became a forgot gem.
I know My Time at Portia is a huge staple for most people and they have a large fandom. A lot of people are excited for Sandrock's full release here in November, and maybe the Devs will continue to add to it for a while! I guess we'll see. There's a lot or games within these genres that typically overlap, but I think most of them offer their own special charm. 😊 I've found a lot for my next video that possess the ability to be excellent games given time and nurturing before and after release.
I would be sooo mad if i was the developer of stardew valley and there where so many people literally exactly copying aspects of my game not even trying to hide it
If ur LGBT+ I'd be careful in Palia and their discord. Their mods let bullying and homophobia loose in their server. The fanbase is kinda filled with bullies.
Edit: Game overall is pretty and hopefully will add more interesting content
Ooh! That is good to know. I know Discord as a company has battled with hate speech, but really it comes down to the people monitoring others. Thanks for letting us know for anyone considering joining!
@@yeahSkippy♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️^^
why does every single one of these look like a call back to something better or so under polished or just something done with rpg maker... sign... there is like only two neat looking ones on the list...
