One down fall is, if the cattle go up and break the ice to drink, but don't break the float loose the tank does not fill up again. It has happened two times, only when super cold. Thankfully I caught it early both times and the valve thawed out easily. Other than that it has been wonderful.
I'm going to try and put this in next to a hydrant and come off the supply line to the hydrant. Should be fun digging an 8' deep hole with a bucket on a Bobcat!
Like that water setup. Just a thought but what about a light under the tank to turn on in really cold days to give it that little extra heat. Or to much trouble getting power out that far? Great job
@@georgeheller2281 Just a thought I had for it as not sure how many really cold days you get over the winter? I really do like what you did tho with the whole setup from that previous video. Also the options for adding summer lines above ground will come in handy too.
The more you show this waterer the more I like it. I would like to set up another water point this summer. I was wondering how I would do it.
This one was pretty simple really, hardest part was digging the trench

Great share, thank you!

I thought about running a wire out there for that very reason, wouldn't take much, just a really long fish tape.

@@georgeheller2281would a recirculating pump like in a fish tank help to aerate the water and keep the ice clear?
@ericviessmann7507 it may, but would require electricity
It works well at those temperatures.
