    I love the look of the Powder Guts! I really wish the Man Eaters design would change depending on what faction recruits them

      I could literally not agree more. At least they put some Empire caps on top of their heads. The bare minimum is a little estetic change, not just a recolor of the same model.
      Would love to see Ogre RoR be each built around some faction.
      Example:
      The Savage Bunch- Ogre Bulls 2H (Firebelly skin whitout the mask)
      Description:
      "Ogre Maneaters fighting alongside Savage Greenskins don't know if chargeing smeared in Warpaint and shouting Wagh! helps their chances of winning, but then again, it seems to work just fine for the Orcs."
      Frenzy , Warpaint
      (Immunity to Badlands Attrition)
      All models and skins would be in game. Since they are taking their time with RoR, they could at least do a little somethig.

      OvN lost factions adds Imperial ogres for empire and halflings, can't wait to see them in IE.

      @@fedyx1544 there's also a mod that varies the models in a Maneaster unit so there's dwarf, lizardmen, chaos etc themed Maneaters. Great mod

    Don’t forget the fire attacks on the hearth blades also slows ALL healing effects as well
    So would be good against fleshy abundance
    And regrowth

    I wonder if that Slaanesh RoR could be used a flyer counter for Slaanesh (something the faction seems to lack currently), since IIRC if flyer gets rampage it's essentially locked to the ground those units tend to be balanced around being able to escape to the sky if things get bad for them.

      Good point. Ranged flyers are still going to be a nuisance though. Slaanesh can do sweet FA against sky junks for example

    Something else to note is that the Hearthblades give their vigour buff in an AoE around them, so another buff ability for Kislev frontlines.

    The super-Daemonettes are going to be extremely powerful when used carefully. Even just Perfect Vigor on a Devastating Flanker unit with some speed is powerful, but Rampage on a melee unit good enough to stand up in combat is going to make them nasty. It's a good thing they're so fragile.

      yeah definitely want to tie a unit down with marauders first .
      these things are hella squishy against infantry charges, it's kind of stupid how it lost like 80% of its health against an infantry unit that costs less than half the cost.

    Awesome video! Watching all these cool units reminds me of reading the tabletop army books as a kid.
    I know it won't happen, but I would love to see a collab between TotalWar and Warhammer to publish armybooks with all the lore and art combined with the unit stats from Total War Warhammer instead of the tabletop game stats and mechanics.

    Dazh's Hearth-Guard function seems to be similar to Questing Knights, having the tools to take on large units although they have anti-inf. buffs. Having a small mass buff seems like it would serve them well, without breaking them.

    The RoR dragon guards also have a 20% magic resistance and the RoR exalted blood letter's get a +5 melee attack.

    Ok theres one thing I want to see investigated in warhammer 3 vs warhammer 2, I swear in warhammer 2 Spells get more kills, But in warhammer 3, Spells get more damage on a target, but kill less...
    Ive noticed this most with the pendulam where it does like 3/4ths of the enemy units health and then but kills like 10 to 15 guys, where a cast in warhammer 2 would have killed 30 models minimum

      It was an intentional change as far as I can tell. In Warhammer 2 magical explosions and wind spells had multiple damage zones. So for a magical explosion entities in the center of the blast take more damage than those on the outskirts. In Game 3 this seems to have been simplified to a single uniform damage value done to all entities in the effect area. This is why pendulum was busted before 1.1. They made the damage uniform across the entire effect area without reducing the damage value, so rather than a line of entities in the middle getting killed the entire unit gets wiped. So now post nerf the entire unit is getting hit by pendulum but taking less than lethal damage, so the result is less kills but getting lots of damage. The best example of this effect is Blight Boil. If you cast blight boil on a full strength infantry unit it will get zero kills but thousands of damage.
      This was probably an intentional nerf to magic alongside the reserve cap to stop wizards from single-handedly winning battles. I know from messing around in campaign that it takes exactly three blight boils to fully wipe an Ice Guard unit (maybe 2 is possible?). The first deals massive damage but kills zero. The second kills most of the unit, but some manage to survive for some reason. A third to finish them off. Obviously that is really inefficient. The idea is to be efficient you need to use other tools to soften them up first and use the magic as a finisher, or alternatively use the magic to soften them up to give your units an easier time. In this way I don't really mind it.
      This mainly applies to wind spells, explosions, and maybe some of the vortexes. Direct damage seems to have been buffed, and bombardments work as before, as bombardments are made of individual projectiles that deal damage to whatever entities they hit rather than being a big AOE bomb.

      It's possible that spells got affected by the MASS unit changes. Explosion spells and stuff usually flung enemies in to the air, causing kinetic damage (I saw somewhere on YT that the game has some collision damage system used for damage of charges down-hill etc.)

    That might be a stupid question, but are the RoR save game compatible? Everything elss in the new patch seems to work even if I didn't start a new campaign. I just don't see the RoR button in the UI.

      New units from dlc, ror or even mods are not available in game for the player if said game did not start with it. This was also the case in total warhammer 2

    I feel as though there should be a mechanic brought in like the blessings where you can pay for a RoR unit to be summoned during a battle but only one battle every 5 turns.
    Would make you choose that blessing just before you siege a major settlement etc.

That being said it comes off as weird when you deviate and start having your greenskins becoming "well rounded gentlemen" and your very "enticing" sex demons trying to actually hide themselves with sneak tactics

      Some are so busted or essential that they are considered mandatory in pvp atleast. Anto large demigryphs with Terror for Empire and unbreakable swordsmen for a sturdier frontline Dwarfs have slayers with slow-it should be obvious why this is good for Dwarfs. Skaven Mortar RoR is straight up bullshit broken.

      That's not true, ROR is a good way to help a faction cover a weakness, so long as that weakness isn't supposed to be what balances them, think of it like legendary lords, a legendary lord is something you can only have one of (in both MP and campaign) in mp your limited to a few per battle, in campaign you can have all of them in 1 army, but only one army, having a speciality unit is great, having ROR be just a straight upgrade without much of a difference in role makes then good, but boring, like the norgamling ironbreakers, it's only when they get something that fills a new niche that thry become worth it, look at the dwarfs uthars rangers, as the great weapon variant they suck in melee, and don't have the ammo to keep firing even if you keep them safe, but they do have an ability that let's them support the army, which alone makes them more interesting then then the standard variant, but then they also are more able to do the dream of great weapon rangers, of flanking and smashing an enemy unit, because they are better in melee

    khorne and nurgles may seem lack luster as they dont bring anything terribly new to the table but at the same time doing what their army does best but even better is a fairly significant feature.
    Khorne can now break your line almost twice as fast so they become a major focus but that means need to take focus away from other threats, changing up the tactics their enemy can use if not their own. On the opposite end nurgle now has a unit that can bog you down extra long and if your usual tactic was to grind them down slowly but surely, well now thats potentially off the table, send the wrong units against them and they potentially clean through them and come out full health with all models.
    Not to say they are brilliant but have as much potential as they are kinda boring. Alas there are still some major holes in some armies that really could do with being addressed, slanesh lack of anti-flying, nurgles abysmal movement speed, when the skirmish heavy armies arrive they are just gonna get minced...

      I know what you mean, but with ROR I really feel they should add something radically different, like say give the Bloodletters a ranged ability akin to the Exhaulted Plaguebearers, throwing skulls that disrupt enemy lines or something. I think ROR's should have a slightly different model and role, like the Raven Heralds and the Black Lion warwagon. These kind of feel like more of the same. The Slaanesh ones in particular really could use some blisbarb arrows or peltasts to add some limited kiting to draw enemies into hammer and anvil

      I even thought about a different ROR for Khorne where its actually improved chaos warriors (akin to the skullreapers/wrathmongers) where they are essentially unbreakable and can cause rampage to nearby enemy units when one of their own gets killed

    I only have just over 650hrs in the series and I don't currently believe even on this patch I can get a lord to rank 20 on Normal/Normal. This game is crazy, I feel like I have no clue what's ever going on.

    HELP.. am on a nurgle camp loving it but I can’t recruit regiments of renown only noticed when I unlocked the greatunclean one renown unit and %100 want it but the tab isn’t on screen but I do have a shaven alliance recruitment outpost is that effecting it I tried to demolish it but still nothing anyone help

    Can you actually recruit RoR while playing chaos undivided, or is it just me (bug or something)? Cause I don't even have an option to recruit them, though got popup notification, that those are unlocked and available.

      There is a button next to normal recruit for you to take the ROR units. You should be able to get all 4 of them.

      No, they didn't want magic attacks to often be a disadvantage anymore because magic attacks are supposed to be an advantage, so they changed Magic Resistance to just reduce the damage of spells

      i dont think there is magic resistance anymore. its called spell resistance.
      and yes magic attacks are ideal for bypassing physical resistance...which demons often have, as well as the huge 75% physical resistance of wraiths.
      they dont have any disadvantage anymore as far as i can see.

    it really disapoints me when rors are basically just the normal unit but with a stat boost a good ror imo is like the bestigor ror as it fills a different role than normal bestigors and isnt just them with buffed stats they are turned into an antilarge unit which the beastmen have no high tier infantry for

    I love the legend of renown units but I feel some of them are underperforming if we compare them to their counterpart when they are raised to rank 9 and then there stats are equal to the legend of renown version and in a 5vs5 legend of renown vs ordinary rank 9 the Hellforged Host, Festering Stooges, Bringers of Beguilement, Blazing Squealers, underperformed but the Dazh’s Hearth-Blades, Dune Dragons, did pretty well and the Powder-Guts, it was mostly a draw so in summary the Hellforged Host, Festering Stooges, Bringers of Beguilement, Blazing Squealers, and Powder-Guts could use a little boost like giving the Hellforged Host could have the Hellblade ability to and a little boost in weapon strength and Anti Infantry and the Festering Stooges a bit more melee defense would be good and for the Bringers of Beguilement the Charmed ability to melee attack would be nice and the Blazing Squealers a bit more range and missile strength be cool for Powder-Guts a bit more range and missile strength and weapon strength

      It was always the case, that the ROR is a gold chevroned unit with free additional ability. So its always better to have than standard, but not tat better if you have veteran units.

      @@Aayren Fun tidbit: In game 2 RoR units get don't recover fatigue as fast as regular rank 9 units,because the game doesn't recognise them as being rank9! In that department regular rank9 units are definitely better than RoR. Typical CA oversight. Don't know if it's still that way in game3.

    In my opinion:
    Very decent RoR, fills some nice gaps in army roster-Slaanesh, Kislev, Cathay
    Ok but it could be better-Tzeentch, Ogre Kingdoms
    Waste of RoR-Khorne, Nurgle

    As bounty Hunter Crusnik road hard
    On his horse sun a dragon Prince
    Name Belle tar who was on his dragon Kalos followed him behind
    As the dragon Prince had Kalos breathe dragon fire at the bounty Hunter as the red and gold stripe dragon try to rain down fire onto the bounty Hunter
    But Crusnik kept moving
    and dodging with sun then
    The bounty Hunter brung out
    His repeating crossbow
    As he fired a smoked Bolt
    Up in front of him creating
    smoke like cover the bounty
    Hunter disappeared within the smoke
    Then Belle tar had Kalos flap his wings removing the smoke to find the bounty Hunter he look around
    Calling out bounty Hunter
    Come out you coward then Crusnik
    Was top of a rocky Hill next to A helblaster Volley gun wasting no time he fired it the blast was loud as multiple shots of cannonballs
    Exploded and ripped and tore open the dragon Kalos as Belle tar fell
    Along with his dragon
    As the dragon Prince Rider crashed into the valley below Belle tar lay next to Kalos he put his hand
    On the dragon petting its frame
    Then Crusnik slowly came upon the dragon Prince as dragon Rider rosed up pulling his sword out but Crusnik
    Shot the dragon Rider Belle tar in the face with a flintlock pistol
    As his face erupted with bone and blood flesh flying everywhere
    As Belle tar flew back into Kalos
    Slowly sliding down off the dragon
    Then Crusnik spend half the day cutting the dragons head off
    Wow removing certain objects from
    The dragon Prince of proof of his demise
    Then Crusnik loaded everything up onto the wagon heading back to
    Bogenhafen for the reward of 50,000 gold crowns removing the dragon Prince to gain the rights of the gem and gold mine within the area of the Gray mountain's

    Pack 1 was disappointing. I was expecting atleast 2 RoRs for each faction. And given that we only got 1 per faction its even more lame that they are all just their top tier infantry with an extra ability tacked on.

      @@alaine9457 nah brah, RoRs are best when they are a different variation that gave a unit some new utility, like the man rippers getting an antilarge bonus instead of anti infantry or the arachnarok queen being able to summon spiderlings.

    ngl, just 1 unit per faction feels extremely underwhelming. I despise being like "why didn't they just add more 4head" because 1. WH3 is already in a sorry state so im sure most of them are on fixing it and 2. IDK how game dev works.
    But considering all a RoR is is a recolored, stat tweaked, normal unit that needs some QA and balance, surely more then 7 at this stage isn't too much to ask

      CA never planned to give away free RoR. They dicided to release RoR it to placate the angry fanbase slighty. As you can see they are all infantry RoR, so not much work and effort had to be done with them. All the interesting RoR is coming with paid DLC as originally planned.

      it's no different than how they implemented RoR before except now they are doing 1 per faction rather then doing it in stages based on each faction
      if you werent around you may not have known that in game 2 when RoR was implemented they did it per each faction. that meant 1 faction received a bunch of crazy strong units that would decimate players in multiplayer and you were at a disadvantage until your faction finally got its RoR

    Am I the only one that doesnt care about regiment or renown...like at all? Its just reskins with stat differences and MAYBE another attribute like flame attack. Modders can and have always done those sort of units better and faster. Seems like a wasted ressource

    Cathay halberdiers are slow, AI wont stay fighting with them for long, if its single entity is loosing. And because Cathay army is not focused on blobbing, like VC, they will be useless on open maps

    even with the ror units added after i played 2 campaigns ive had zero interest to touch it again until the mortal empires. The campaign in this game is just terrible imo and rushes you.

      I'm not desperate for IE or anything. The regular campaign is passable and will be good with the fixes they have planned. The problem is that those changes as well as shit like "tweaking reinforcement numbers for slaanesh and tzeentch" and "a couple reskins for ROR" are taking MONTHS. Pretty ridiculous. I've already played a few campaigns and I'm out till the chaos warriors update.

    Don’t forget the fire attacks on the hearth blades also slows ALL healing effects as well
    So would be good against fleshy abundance
    And regrowth
