I’m glad to know that nurgle’s RoR has been quite exceptional for having unique and potent abilities. Wish they update their plague mechanic or give more skills to their heroes and lords so that we can gain access to these abilities.
I think the 1.3 patch updated the plague mechanic. They released a video about the update yesterday.
They nerf cultist heroes
Yeah, this faction almost kind of relies on the campaign mechanics like plague which was updated this patch too. They got nerfed in duration and what causes attrition.
Yeah it's too bad they nerfed their cultists into the ground. I'd only put one in now for the increased mobility. All the others have much less annoying hoops to jump through
I tested the Khorne RoR -fire resistance. It does *not* apply fire weakness to units that don't have fire resistance.
Never trust CA in their blogposts. They confuse abilities all the time. Remember when they "cleaned up" all the abilities on Lords, that worked on "Heroes Army" (so didnt work at all) or Heroes abilities that worked on "Lords Army" (also not working)... well short after that they introduced Thorek's defeat trait with "accompanying Lord"... wich also only works on Heroes. I'm prety sure they just confused the "weakness to fire" with "reduced fire resistance". I wouldnt count on a fix though.
I'd have expected that fire resist could go into negative and that makes you more susceptible to fire. That's quite a blunder if it just decreases fire resist if a unit has it and caps at 0%.

So, the Khorne ROR is worthless.
Reduced flame resistance is actually different that added weakness to fire. Most things in the game add weakness but the dwarves(and now khorn apparently) do have a specific ability that reduces resistance and does nothing if the unit has no fire resistance. The abilities are also worded differently. The Dwarves and Khorn both say "flame resistance -20%" while the other abilities actually say "weakness to fire damage +20%". There are two fully different effects.
so its basically more useful if the buff was 20% more weakness to fire damage bcs then its just 20% more damage from fire wielding units?

@@dac314 It is standardized. There are two separate debuffs, one that reduces already existing fire resistance and one that adds fire weakness. The ingame text is very literal and exact, it is only confusing if you try to over think it.
Excited to be using Nurgle's RoR haha. With a cultist, plague of flies, increased melee defence and nearly a halving of enemy damage nurgle Blobs will be brutal!
Nurgle sieges will become even more difficult to break through :D
The Heralds of Khornes Fury sounds like it could be an oversight, since there is a weakness to fire trait. It seems like it works like you're saying even though the blog says weakness.
Also, the Doom Knights act like the damn foot-clan. Only two of them attacked the Beast of Nurgle and the rest just stood by and watched from a safe distance.
for a while I was wondering why Khorne, Nurgle and Slannesh got Daemonic Cavalry RoRs while Tzeentch got a mortal one
then I realized than unless people count the flaming chariot Tzeentch only has mortal cavalry
this actually got me wondering whether Tzeentch will ever get a cavalry unit that's basically pink/blue horrors on disks
Because it's cavalry RoR edition and Tzeentch only have mortal cavalry.

If I remember right, there's only one instance of blue horrors on disc (blue scribes).
@@quint3ssent1a fair enough but CA has made stuff up before. I'm sure that if we ever get the Blue Scribes as DLC they'll probably come with Blue Horror lords, heroes and units to accompany them. it might even happen when we get the Changeling since they're also supposed to be a Horror and their skin is usually shown to be blue. CA have given mounts to units that never had them in the lore before (Mammoth for Wulfric, Arcane Phoenix for Teclis, Maelstrom for Lokhir, ect), I'm sure they'll do it again. honestly I feel like Horror on disk cav would be pretty cool (it'd almost certainly be flying skirmish cav which seems like the perfect fit for how the Tzeentch roster is currently set up with all their flyers and skirmishers)
@Zerkovich, the toads damage reduction ALSO stacks in MP with cultist debuff. Basically 58% less damage.
dont forget to add soulblight to make the damage of scarbrand into...22 damage
The Kislev Warbear riders shouldn't have Spears but Long Axes, Tor followers are Axe fanatics and shun other weapons.
The Nurgle unit is bloody amazing at least.
The bear riders not using hammers is a missed opportunity.
They are mostly anti large though. If they had hammers I think that'll be cool for anti armor and anti infantry.

I literally just saw someone posting screenshots of how when they zoom into Cathay units after this patch, their throats are bloody like the blood DLC is being enabled a tiny bit. Seems to be happening on your Longma Riders too

Weird fact: because Khorne's RoR has flaming attacks, it still performs worse against a unit with fire resistance than the regular version. On that example you did, a regular unit would do better since none of its damage is being hindered by the fire resistance, as it is not... fire damage:p
You can make a video about it for CA to realize that the RoR is, in fact, a waste of money.
Remember that the ROR still has better stats, and it debuffs there melee defense, not to mention this cav unit is on the khorne roster, about 50% of his roster has flaming attacks, a unit that can counteract the weakness of your fire attacks can be critical
@@calebbarnhouse496 well, yeah, but if you intend to use it because of its flaming attacks (vs regen units), why bring this one instead of multiple alternatives in the Khorne roster?
All it does is being slightly better than other flaming attacks units when engaging its actual counter... I am not seeing its pratical use other than better stats, price will be too much most of the time
@@SusaVile you mean why would you want a unit that minimizes the effects of someone countering it? Are you seriously asking why someone would want help reduce a weakness, and next it's not one or the other, you will have fire dealing units regardless, an option to boost them vs targets will always be useful, it's like saying that armor sundering on AP units is useless because after all, why would you want to increase damage on units that have defenses against you
@@calebbarnhouse496 the point is that the normal variant would do better against such a unit; in fact, most khorne units would do better. If you would field a unit like this RoR, it would be because of its flaming attacks; unless the tooltip is wrong and it actually provides a weakness to fire instead of just reducing fire resistance. In that case, it is definitely useful.
Now, vs regen, tell me why bring this unit instead of 2 units of bloodletters for a similar price?
@@SusaVile unless your fire dealing units get caught by the enemy, in which case they both benefit from it and it's way better then no fire resistance removal, particularly when you remember that it debuffs the enemy by being near them, so it can debuff melee defense of multiple units even without fire damage coming into play, it's quite literally a minor downside that your crying about because against a few units it's a little worse, when fighting against them solo
For nurgle they should make a passive ability that if they are near a poisones unit like 20 Meters they ger a buff basically like a plague hurting the enemy and when it gets near to you it buffs you
Ror units does not have stat improvements like mele def or atack. they are exactly the same as base version with max rank
I can see that Nurgle got some stopping power against SEM's they could slow down all those big boys now.

Zhao's abilities that used to buff his armour etc, now no longer apply to him, despite what the blog said. They really dont test these things before they release

Then out nowhere's Kurgan impaled with his helberd then the troll spung around knocking Kurgan up in the air
As Northman fell straight onto his back then Claudia screamed out
Kurgan then the troll headed for Claudia then they collided once more but Troll grab her by the neck
Then lifted her up in the air it smiled hideously as was going break Claudia's neck it's hand disappeared as a stump took its place momentary it's hands grew back
Then Lance appeared with the troll's hand smiling mischiefly then ran it into its chest as troll was taken by surprise by the attack then Claudia got out of its way as Drusilla helped Claudia then Lance grab a hold of
Kurgan's helbred as he striked at it
Multiple times puncturing it's flesh
Then Lance cut it in half as he started cutting it into mini pieces
Then the troll fell apart as it slowly started re-healing Lance through his gunpowder horn pouch into its flesh
As Lance pulled out his flintlock pistol and fired at his gunpowder
Horn pouch as exploded creating enough flame to damage the troll
Then it heals itself and retreated back into the darkness never to be seen again
Then Lance picked up Kurgan giving his weapon back then the Norseman smiled and replied you've gotten better Lance I see you still train

With the second one (khorne), compare it with the tricksters shard, which has been around since at least game 2. It has -22% magic resistance (spell now), which also makes units weak to magic if they didn't have resistance to begin with.
"fire resistance" is a continuous scale going from 90% resistant to normal damage to X% vulnerable (I don't know if there is a cap)
That's not how it works. If you want to think of it as a scale then the khorne ability can't reduce it past 0%. The in-game text is very specific, it only removes fire resistance, it does not add fire weakness. There are some other abilities in the game (very very few) that works this way instead of working how Tricksters shard does.
@@graydenboad574 if it doesn't then I think it should be fixed. Only working against resistances is a bit silly.

HELP.. am on a nurgle camp loving it but I can’t recruit regiments of renown only noticed when I unlocked the greatunclean one renown unit and %100 want it but the tab isn’t on screen but I do have a shaven alliance recruitment outpost is that effecting it I tried to demolish it but still nothing anyone help

Flame resistance and fire resistance must clearly be different things - like two ends of the same pole
I’m fairly certain that Khorn RoR’s passive does increase damage no matter if their opponent has flame resist or not. Even though the game doesn’t display negative resistance, it still counts.
Someone tested it, it doesn’t. That ability is almost worthless.

Wait, for the Khorne ROR, it gives EITHER -20% fire resistance or - 5 melee attack. And in the reverse order of the info card.
Looking at chaos Knights humping a beast of nurgul looks weird no attack animations.
kinda confused there with the flame mechanic, so if a unit already had 0% fire resistance, any debuff that reduces weakness to fire gets translated to weakness to fire damage. Does that work the same with any unit or ability that does that?
TWWH considers "Resistance" and "Weakness" to be two entirely different things. If an ability says "-20% resistance to fire" it means it can only reduce fire resistance if such exists on the target, but it won't do anything if the target has no fire resistance to begin with. If the ability says "+20% weakness to fire" it means the target will get an extra weakness to fire, which in practise means that a 40% fire resistance will be reduced to 20% and if the target has no fire resistance it will take 20% extra damage from fire attacks.

Seems to be the trend: nothing game changing, except nurgle who gets cool stuff. Less mass should have been a Tzeentch reality bending thing. I guess Nurgle make you so sick you lose your lunch and the flies pick you up..?
Is just a wasting disease that robs you of your muscle mass until you look like a Skeleton man.
Barons of the Bog spread disease named "the wasting sickness" and this is its description:

So pretty reasonable why they lower mass
math dictates that negative % would increase the effect of the negative number in this case the I take 10 damage but as my resistance to that damage is -20% I will take 20% more damage so 12...
Tooltip says it reduces resistance, not adds weakness. If it works the same way other reduce resistance abilities work then it won't reduce it past 0.

The Khorne ROR got changed appearance-wise. In the blog they had white skulls painted on their faces, now they are all bloody. That sucks.

Would be interested to see what happens when the Khorne RoR is in proximity to a unit that already has weakness to fire, like a regenerating unit. Since the tooltip for weakness to fire is already there, does that number change?
Nope, unless there is some REAL spaghetti code shit going on and it is different than the usual reduce resistance effect.
@@graydenboad574 might still technically have a use case, since fire resist could nerf Khorne pretty hard, but really it doesn’t do anything to the vast majority of opponents, so seems like they fall pretty flat compared to the other options

Also, why is reducing fire resistance from 40% to 20% useless? I understand that you would still ideally avoid fighting a unit with 20% fire resistance, but your opponent will likely be trying to force that match up and if it happens then it’s still useful.
Resistances can't go negative
Further then that, it can mean that you can nuke the flame resistant units down with multiple units, as they'll all be dealing 20% more damage then they would if there was no reduction in it, with lots of fire attacks comes people taking fire resistance, the same will be true for the chaos dwarfs when they come
honestly I feel like that ability might be a bit of a coding error, weakness and resistance are seperate things in Total War Warhammer and it seems like whoever coded that RoR either got them mixed up or thought that they were basically the same thing.
as for reducing weakness from 40% to 20% that's actually more useful than reducing from 20% to 0%. 40%->20% increases your damage from 60% to 80%, a 25%/33.3 (depending on your point of view) increase. 20%->0% increases your damage from 80% to 100%, a 20%/25% (depending on your point of view) increase. the higher their resistance the better. 80%-60% increases your damage from 20% to 40%, a 50%/100% (depending on your point of view) increase, obviously if you're only dealing 40% damage that's still pretty bad so it might be best to bring in some units that deal non-fire damage at that point.
@@calebbarnhouse496 There are so few cost effective units with innate fire resist and they are generally limited to RoR. The niche for reducing fire resist if so small as to be almost non-existent.
@@graydenboad574 well then it's a good thing it supports nearby units for other things, and is statistically superior, how the hell can you say this thing is bad when you admit that that fire resistance is the only downside this thing can face, and it isn't common or good, meanwhile fire attacks of cav is pretty useful because they are the ones that can catch a unit running away to regen health
Weak to fire and -% fire resistance are the same stat with different names. I hope they just get rid of the weakness to fire stat.
minus resistance effects deny resistance, but don't make it negative. Weakness effects on the other hand, do.
The point of the Khorne RoR is using it against anything weak to fire (or against healing units) while not having to worry that much about fire resistance. The -5 MD is already pretty powerful

I think you might be overthinking the flame resist, it has the symbol for the unit being effected on the top right of the unit card. So my guess is despite not appearing at the bottom it is applying -20% to a unit with zero flame resist. Atleast I hope it is and isn't a very specific reduction to units only with flame resist... cause then that really makes it difficult to use unless you predict with absolute certanty that they will deploy flame resistant units. Just feels too niche even for niche abilities.
If it does apply -20% to enemies without flame resist at all then it will be universally useful across the board, especially against low armour factions where Khorne can combo any other flame users with it do great damage.

Coming from RPG games where reducing enemy resist to below 0 is a common thing, I don't see why Khorne is confusing or seem bad. It's a straight AOE damage buff for your army.
Khorne army has alot of fire damage. This unit makes all nearby enemy unit take more damage from fire. It's like a +20% Fire Damage to all nearby friendly units to enemy units with 0% resist.
Except that’s not how it works as negative resistances do not exist and the lowest resistance can be is 0%
with a completely different effect called *fire weakness* being
required for units to take more damage from flaming attacks
A reduction of fire resistance should be different from weakness to fire.
A reduction of a type of damage doesn't do anything if the units doesn't have its resistance.
Meanwhile, weakness to fire means always more damage.
There's also the fact that fire resistance isn't common.
The point is that it's not bad to reduce the resistance to fire, but it would have been better if it was weakness to fire
Doom Knights models should differ from vanilla chaos warriors' armour...

A highly mobile unit that can both shoot AND go into melee properly, the sleds are nice but lack the melee capability.

The Khorne RoR is pretty straightforward. Minus 20 flame resistance, and since it makes people weak that means you get negative 20 if your base is 0. Not rocket science.
But that isn't how it works at all.... It says it reduces resistance, not adds weakness and that it exactly what it does. It only reduces resistance, if a unit has no resistance to reduce then it does nothing.

Very decent RoR, fills some nice gaps in army roster-Kislev, Nurgle
Ok but it could be better-Cathay, Ogre Kingoms, Slaanesh, Tzeentch
Waste of RoR-Khorne
Comparing all RoRs from warhammer 3 at this point the biggest loser is Khorne and the biggest winner Kislev.

Tzeentch, Nurgle and Kislev got the best stuff
All units have fire resistance stat, it's just that for most of them it is 0. They just don't show you, same way as they don't show you ward resistance 0%. magic resistance 0% and physical resistance 0%.
The stat is still there, all the resistances are on every unit. It's just that it would be a cluttered mess if every unit displayed all the 0% values. That would be quite dumb.
Fire weakness is not a separate stat it's just a negative value fire resistance.

but they are still frogs so i still cant be convinced that charging them into a locked line is going to do any good considering their animation
but the reduced mass could be good to charge into the rear of cav and make sure it doesnt break free on the infantry side
will need to use them to judge, but they are atleast interesting
disrupting enemy formations really isnt what you want as nurgle since it makes using your spells and artillery close to impossible

mass changes are really bad changes to the battles. who is creating such units? idk man
messing with unit mass is just off imo. dont like that at all, it makes no sense.
the idea is that the sickness is literally causing the unit to waste away to the point that they become lighter as a result. personally I think it's quite fitting.
Y dont all the different elemental types do special effects ???? like fire ice poison do stuff but everything else is just lame..:( didn't they play any other games like hellgate london that had sweet effects on every damage type like stuns/DOT/DVH/spreads/weekend/- resists/slow/AP/SP/ the list goes on and on . Y even do different damage types if your not going to give them a flavor??? :(
Fire damage reduces the amount of healing a unit receives and frost attacks slow.

@@oguzhanilbakan2716 yeah, I know. like I fully acknowledge that even if CA was selling these RoR groups at £1 per unit (which would be £7 a pack, $8.50 in dollars) I would almost certainly pay up just so that I'd have everything.
but CA isn't doing that. these RoRs are completely free for us, and unlike a good FLC lord like Wurrzag, Vlad or Imrik I really doubt that any of these RoRs are ever going to be good enough to tip the balance on whether somebody is going to buy the entire game or not. as far as I can tell the only benefit CA gets from these RoRs is a little bit good will back from the community that had been lost for a bit after game 3's launch.
The design of the units is really cheap and ugly.
