Great video and nicely filmed. I really appreciate your delivery of the facts. Easy to listen to …… NO MUSIC ether beating your head or the presenter competing with the background. Thank you from Maine
I have watched many videos as part of my learning process as an aspiring woodturner. This was easily the most helpful overview I have come across. It really helped me clarify at least the category of lathe I intend to buy. And since it is a less expensive category than I had been leaning towards before, you have probably saved me a lot of money. Thank you!
Thanks. I have been turning for quite sometime on a Craftsman midi and have just now run into the need for a larger lathe. Your discussion of the professional midi was helpful. The PM 2014 may be just what I am looking for.
Nice job of explaining the features and differences. Also good to know some of the accessories that are available. I went with the Powermatic 3520C and I am picking it up next week! Thanks for doing this video!
@@ArvindKumar-ul3bs I would think your best bet would be to Google woodturning in Australia and New Zealand. Here is one site that turned up www.timberlywoodturning.co.nz/ I would contact Terry Scot there. He is internationally known. Good luck! I see that Fiji has a lot of forests.
I have the pm2014, the only thing that I noticed you didn’t mention was the extension table for it, cost of $365. I love my lathe. Great video series. Thank you
I understand the parts I started with a mini moved to midi and now i am after a full sized, So in your opinion any full-sized brands are worthy? I have watched to many videos and read to many reviews that I might have lost my ability to choose a new lathe. I have 3k to spend and I am not sure where to spend it, everybody has a love hate with a lathe. to many choices, Nova DVR Laguna to name a few. thanks for the video, Had I not known what I do it was a very good description of a modern lathe. maybe a brand review next time?
Just saying 1hp is 1 hp. The 3 phase is more efficient than single phase and does not require a capacitor. You have 3 nodes of line voltage in 1 motor rotation vs single phase. No disrespect to your lathe knowledge just helping provide someone else with a bit of information. You did a great job with breaking the lathes down.

A trick: you can watch series on kaldroStream. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
@Ian Mekhi Definitely, have been using Flixzone} for since november myself :D
Thanks for the great information. Very thorough, and complete. Looking forward to your next video
Thank you! The video is very informative. I've been looking around for a proper lathe that is affordable and reliable.

I've been looking for the Powermatic 100th anniversary 3520 model.
Its got the Black paint job on it.
Anyone know where to get a new one, by chance?
What size lathe and motor horse powerwould I buy to make baseball bats and table legs.
Thanks
i've turned table legs on a 16-40 lathe w/ 1 1/2hp and have not had any issues. Recommend not going below 1 hp
