It’s one of the most difficult things in acting. It has to look real. So you really have to work on your part in every detail. De Niro is a hard working actor. He immediately noticed that stabbing someone at multiple times so quickly was impossible in real life. And the viewers would notice it.

DeNiro is well known for his attention to detail. I read that in Raging Bull, there was someone in the audience that had a watch on that didn’t fit the time period and DeNiro insisted it be changed or removed because it didn’t fit the movie. He’s also well known for doing numerous fittings with wardrobe and props because it has to be perfect. LEGEND!

That reminds me of when they were filming the scene in Lord Of The Rings, that was cut from the movie, where Saruman The White (Christopher Lee)gets stabbed by Grima Worm Tongue. Peter Jackson (director) tells Lee to cry out as he's being "stabbed ". Lee was grunting when stabbed. Lee asked Jackson, "Do you know what it sounds like when a person gets stabbed?" Jackson said, "No"...Lee said, "I do, and they don't cry out." Lee was formerly in the British Secret Service, MI:5....in both cases.....creeepy 😬

That's a shame. It's only loosely based on true events. Most of the mob Mafia bosses mentioned in were not with the rest. And they never mention the fact that Henry Hill and his brother Joe were criminals, yet only Joe did time for money laundering. They shudve mentioned it. Henry was no angel, is my point. Btw, Michael Franzine, who's depicted in the movie, yet NOT part of Henry's clan, is the only former boss who's not in prison or dead yet. Only by the grace of God he gets to have a life, yet as penance, he must give his testimony traveling around the country to various churches and venues, but hey, at least he's right with our creator God 😊

When you stab someone, the surrounding muscle "grabs" the blade. That's why in martial arts, they explain that you kinda have to cut your way back out of the thrust. This is why sometimes the knife is left in the target. It gets stuck
