Keep chasing your dreams Taylor. You look more happy now that you’re camping in your van. Seems like you made a good decision to change out of your Artic Fox Truck Camper.
You could had used the flexible pipe of a cloth dryer and plumb it to the front window and use it to clamp down to hold the duct in place and open a rear quarter panel window to allow the blown in heat to pass from front to back and not drill the hole in your van. The added length allows you to put the heater at a further distance and cool down the hot air a bit before it entered your van.
Hole was a mistake. You couldve just took a chunk of foam insulation traced out your window cut it shorter then put a knotch on the bottom so the front window slots into it and can be partly open
Hi Taylor! Diesel heaters are good but you can works to silencer the pump sound, extend the lines of fuel and put the bomb into a plastic box with insulate foam to avoid the terrible sound. Only that way you get sleep well my friend. Try to modify to get best results. If you try that cut the foam to same form to the pump to get more eficient results. Good video only the baterie needs stay into the car low temp is not good to the charge.
That ticking noise is consistent with every diesel heater I have. I have had five or six in the last 20 years. The way you have your setup, put up a padded cardboard wall between the heater and the vehicle. My heater is mounted underneath the frame of the vehicle. Maybe I have more padding and insulation between the heater and the inside of the vehicle, but I don't hardly hear it at all inside the vehicle.😊
I think you would get used to the ticking noise from the heater after a while, problem is that you do not full time in your van and could take you a lot longer to get used to it. As far as being too hot in the van, I would crack open a window a little bit to let some of the heat out while you sleep. BTW the scenery of those mountains is breathtaking.
Yeah for sure it was worth it, what’s it hurt quick easy solution why not . People always like to complain why would you do that … because it’s your van that’s why😂 do what u want . Great job 👍 like I said, I would’ve done it too. It’s not like you have $100,000 rig that you’ve ruined . 👊
Hey Taylor, you can get an aftermarket "silent" fuel pump for those heaters. Lots of reviews of them on TH-cam: th-cam.com/video/38FA-_BvdGk/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/C0A1TUG2wQ4/w-d-xo.html
Here's to Taylor's possible future regrets... Future Taylor: "I might regret that"... Us: "Well, Taylor, you remember that hole you put in the side of your van?!"... 😂😂😂 ... Keep living that dream! ❤
Not sure about Canada, but I went to Scheels and I bought the same brand Beef Stroganoff and it was only 11 dollars. Might be cheaper at a sporting goods store than Amazon.
No, you're not supposed to spill everything everywhere. I've watched countless TH-camrs do this and they never spill it everywhere, lol😂 Seems like an expensive meal for what it looked like😀
That hole was totally unnecessary! You could have easily created something to route the vent hose through the window. At the same time the heater would have been further away from the sleeping area keeping the ticking noise down.

Good video and the heater was a good investment. In a emergency situation - great backup heat source.

Look up foresty forest on youtube. He found a silent pump for his diesel heater but I don't remember thr details.
Search for a video of foresty forest. He had to do some modification as well due to this tic tic noise bothering him

Glad to see you back! I tried the Walmart version of freeze dried food and it was so salty couldn’t eat it

With a longer house ( duct ), you would not have to turn it off and on all night too

Ear plugs would be the quickest and easiest fix.
keep the clips coming

I miss you
Maybe you could use foam insulation sheet and duct tape to craft a box to fit over heater? It would be sound dampening.
Get yourself a good set of earplugs that should help with the noise.

push out that content my guy

I could not sleep with that tick either!!
How about ear plugs during those cold nights?

Did you contact the seller or manufacturer?
Maybe line your van with reflectix.
sleep with a white noise maker. And hope it doesn't rain when your heater is outside. Did you say 25 dollars for that meal???
Maybe a thicker sleeping bag? lol
I literally lol’d out loud at the hole you cut. Did you use a circular saw?
“some tape…”
One bite
Watch the sodium in those ffeeze dried meals! I am going to be making my own as 2500mg of sodium is not healthy.
Couldn’t stand the ticking. The chicken and mashed potatoes didn’t look too good to me. A steak at outback is the same price 😆
Yes !😂
First!
