When I was a kid, I totally wanted to fly every airline for a living. Seeing how exhausted you often are makes me feel a little less like that. On the other hand, I'm extremely happy to see your travels. By the way, I think the digital map you show at 2:00 is of Guyana and not Suriname. (Althoughm immediately after, you do have an outlined map of Suriname.) Thank you so much for your videos!

Behind you at 11:57 is the coat of arms of Trinidad & Tobago! The palm tree crest at the top of the coat of arms was taken from Tobago's coat of arms before it was joined in political union with Trinidad. The gold ships on the shield represent the three ships Christopher Columbus used on his voyage. The two birds on the shield are hummingbirds, but the two big birds supporting the shield are a scarlet ibis on the left, and the cocorico (also known as the Rufous-vented chachalac) on the right. These are the country's two national birds. Below the Scarlet Ibis are three hills, representing the Trinity Hills in southern Trinidad. The island below the cocorico represents Tobago.
The scarlet ibis and the cocorico are birds also found in mainland South America. As Trinidad was once part of the South American mainland, many South American creatures call the island home. On their flag, red, white, and black symbolize fire, earth, and water. Red for fire for the island's warm sunshine and the courage of its people. Black for earth for the dedication of the people joined together by one strong bond, the color of strength, of unity of purpose, and of the wealth of the land. And white for water for the purity of aspirations and the equality of all. Like Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago also has a lot of Africans and Indians, with Indian laborers arriving after African abolition.

So Belém is the capital of the state of Pará, and Belém is the Portuguese name for Bethlehem! Initially the city was called Nossa Senhora de Belém do Grão-Pará or Our Lady of Bethlehem of Great Pará and the reason it was called that and just shortened to Belém because it was on Christmas Day that captain Francisco Caldeira Castelo Branco, who founded the city, left from São Luís in what's now the state of Maranhão in 1615 to conquer the lands of Pará and thus founded Belém in 1616.
The reason Port of Spain on Trinidad is called such is because quite simply, when the Spanish got there, they named the settlement Puerto España. Christopher Columbus named the island Trinidad (though Arawaks called it Cairi) as part of fulfilling a vow he made before setting out on his third exploration voyage. Caribbean Airlines is state-owned with the Trinidad & Tobago government owning a majority of it, with the Jamaican government also owning a percentage. It is the flag carrier of Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, and Guyana! It has a hummingbird as their mascot as Trinidad is known as the Land of the Hummingbird!

I don’t really enjoy flying anymore. Red eye flights. Exhausting airports. Long queues. Frustrating security. Cramped aircraft seats. I still remember the days when I could arrive at the airport with a credit card and be sure to get a flight in a few hours, either immediate or weight listed on the next flight. Now you have to book in advance and fill in a huge amount of information. Every feature costs more.Next fill in a check in about two days before and discover the Airline have arbitrarily rearranged all seats and you have been assigned the last seats at the back, next to the toilets. I really admire Noel for this. It is not an easy job. Fortunately, I no longer fly for business and now only fly once a year for vacation.

I've done a fair amount of flying including 13 flights L.A. to London. Enjoyed a lounge once. I don't know, but am guessing more of your viewers fly coach, not business or first. An airline lounge may be something that'll never see light of day or dark of night for them, it's hours finding just a decent seat at or near Starbucks and their gate. hey the max you flew out of on was one that I did a RTS from storage, I don't have pictures but when Caribbean ordered them they were finished during lockdown and so they were stored with ATS at KPAE till late 2021. I remember walking around them and seeing that everything was pristine and brand new, no leaks or anything, all of the exposed hardware still looked like it was just freshly zinc coated. that didn't stop the planes from having problems still when we were doing our RTS checks

Almost as crazy as my 2½ weeks of leave I took after finishing my advanced school at Marine Corps base 29 Palms. My dad was stationed in Germany, and with LCpl pay, buying a one-way ticket from LAX to Frankfurt and then a one-way from Frankfurt to Jacksonville, NC would have left me completely broke for the two weeks at home. The option I decided upon was to the Space Available system the military allows any military and their direct family and retirees to fly around the world.
    1. Greyhound from 29 Palms to March AFB in Riverside, CA
    2. Cargo seat on a C-141 Starlifter to Andrews AFB in Maryland (overnight flight)
    3. Immediately onto an old Vietnam era C-130E Hercules to Dover AFB Delaware (as the only flights leaving Andrews that entire weekend were going to Reykjavik or Tel Aviv).
    4. Dover AFB was packed to the rafters with old retirees trying to get to Germany and almost every C-5 Galaxy on the base was filled completely with gear and troops heading to Germany for Reforger 87 (a massive NATO exercise with tens of thousands of troops). Spent 2 days and nights sleeping in the terminal and showering at the base's gym (that was the only place I could be out of uniform).
    5. At about 4am on the morning of my third day, they called my name and got me on a C-5 headed to Rota NAS, Spain. A full day and half later, no luck catching anything heading towards Germany. I should have just spent the money and caught the train to Germany, but stupid me thought I could save my money and ended up on a Navy C-9 Nightengale medivac aircraft to Sigonella NAS in Sicily. They had flights heading to Germany, but I was one classification below Navy guys on shore leave, and they all wanted to get to Munich for Oktoberfest.
    6. Two full days later (sleeping in the terminal and showering at the gym). I was running out of cash as I didn't think about finding the mess hall to eat at for pennies compared to the junk food I was eating. They got me on an Air Force C-9 medevac to Athens AB in Greece. I was asked if I wanted to stay on the aircraft and hop around Turkey, stopping at the 4 Air Force bases and then circle back around the Mediterranean and back up to Germany, about 72 hours. My other option was to get on the wait list and hope to get on the C-130 that was heading back to Germany in about 8 hours. I opted for the latter and got the last available seat. We then stopped at Torrejon AB (just outside of Madrid, Spain). From there, we made it to Rhein Main AB about 6 hours later. Almost half of my leave was spent, and I was down to the change in my pockets...Over 7 dars sleeping in trr

I thought the same myself, why didn't he take the 484 to MIA which leaves closer to 9am, giving him more time in transit. But I suspect he wanted to stay with American as he could easily transit through to his final destination which is IAH. Glad he made it to 🇹🇹 😊
