I really appreciate how you've embraced gaming as well as anime as an integral part of this channel in the past few months. I've always felt that gaming and anime are surprisingly interconnected in terms of their communities and general culture, so it feels like a perfect fit. Of course, hearing you talk about anything you're passionate about will always be a treat - regardless of what it is.
Well thanks I appreciate that. I have so much gaming stuff I love that I want to talk about alongside anime. It's sort of hit or miss if it's successful, but your comment really helps. Thanks so much for watching
I'm really glad to hear that man. I loved making this video, and while so far it has underpreformed I'm glad people like you can still enjoy me putting it out there
My favorite boss is still the frog! I remember being so caught off-guard that you fought him from the inside it was a great twist! Btw just found your channel recently and I love it, you sound like an actual person talking and I really dig your style
The frog is one of my favorites, in general I think a lot of people remember that one fondly as on my first plathrough I thought it was super cool and shocked me. Glad you found me, decided to stick around and decided to comment. Have a good day!
aaaa how lovely to see a video on yoshi's island! one of my favorite games...ever!! i played the gba port (growing up i was actually completely oblivious it was a port...) the whole crayon-aesthetic is sooo charming, and the soundtrack is just genius (i actually was looking on nintendo music and realized it's a pretty small soundtrack, which is crazy because every song is sooo unique and engaging and memorable! and i agree, the bosses were so creative and had such cool mechanics. growing up i just thought they were fun, but now as i pay closer attention to game design, i never realized how unique a lot of the gameplay was. thanks for making this vid (and sorry for commenting on something so old lmfao)
*I sold my old games to but i dont regret it because now i truly value and complete the games i have now. I surely would have let them rot due to negelct if inever sold the old ones. YOU just like me have gained more value as a person than some old Gamecube games you can rebuy later in life. There are no missed oppurtunities only reminders of what we have to do next time.*
Glad to find lighter content on here. Only experienced your heavy FLCL content and shit man- relatable. the "They're fake" video was about one of my favorite lines and feelings in that series and you made me cry. That was my first interaction with your channel.
Dude thank you. This game will always be a treasure and have a special place in my heart. It was sway ahead of its time too, I think it utilized somewhat newer technology as well, almost a preview of what other 3d games would be able to in the near future. But absolutely, it was the novel, creativity that made it GOD.
Watching this video was a nostigliga trip, Yoshi's Island on the Gamboy advance sp was the shit. I loved that game so much as a kid and still do! Awesome video👌🏾
I'm playing this game for the first time on the switch and it's for sure one of my favorite games of all time already. You can just feel the love poured into the game with the aesthetic and gameplay design mastery and I enjoy every moment. I really appreciate your videos since it kind of feels like you're on the same page as me in a lot of ways if that makes sense. Thanks for being awesome
One of my fav things is getting to hear small things that no one bats a eye to. I love this video very much it had remind me my time playing this wonderful game. I love the designs of the emmies within the game from the monkeys, the many types of shy guys to the seagulls and weird fuzzy doods. There's quite a feeling I can not explain when it comes to pixel art but how they can use one pixel to make something still blows me away. Thank u for your video I never realized how crazy in depth this game was till now looking at the bosses and level design.
I'm glad you could get nostalgic with me over it. It's a great game, and i'm glad looking at the boss and game design could intrest you. The comment is hugely appreciated
Well HiP, I only just played and beat this game last year, during my internship I was taking buses to work and would play my hacked playstation Vita with old retro games on the modern handheld screen, it was great. Played many, but this one I played through for weeks and had a blast solving the puzzles, figuring it out and enjoying it. I missed out on the music I think because I dont remember it, and probably played it muted on the bus, so thats on me. Great to listen about your favorite bosses in the game, and have a little flashback of it for myself : )
@@HidinginPublic hey man as long as the content quality stays this good. I'll keep coming back. I'll also voice my concerns if you ever make a video I think doesn't live up to your quality. Only constructive criticism though. I don't see that happening though. Your content is good and unique.
@@HidinginPublic Something to keep in mind when playing Super Metroid, GO COMPLETELY BLIND when playing it, it's helping me when I'm playing it so it should help you to
FUCC YEAH YOSHI'S ISLAND btw, component video cables for PS2 are super cheap, my dude. Also for Wii. If you have a Gamecube with the Digital Video Out port maybe look into the GCHD project and the offspring solutions that proliferated from it.
The AVI to HDMI converter i use works fine, it's just nice not having to fumble around with cables and boot it up on my switch, that's what I was hapoy about. Thank you though!
@@HidinginPublic well yes it's a nice commodity. also you get some features like rewind and online play. good stuff. if you need help with hooking up older consoles to more modern displays just let me know!
@@HidinginPublic I meant wiring wise. How you transitioned from it being your childhood game to the bosses to each of your favorite bosses to your favorite boss and then book ending the video by returning to those nostalgic childhood memories.
You guys in the rant café should do the "Best Seinen Villains in Anime" like you mentioned at the end of your Shounen Villains one last year, I'd love to listen and see that match up of Johann Liebert against Griffith like you mentioned.
My only critique is when you accidentally referred to Yoshi's Island as "above par" instead of "master class, a shining star of a platformer to be admired by all generations to come" but I'll let it slide Great video HiP
I wish they made a harder version of the game for varieties sake but i Like this game a lot its way better than the sequels where u have extra dumbass babies to care for
This is such a good boy channel, like the nicest kindest most heartfelt TH-camd imo
I just talk about why I like stuff and what it means to me. That's always what youtube represented to me as a kid. Glad you like what I do

Well thanks so much for commentimg this time. This video isn't doing great so far and it helps a lot haha

Thanks, and you totally should! I powered through it in a few days and had a blast. I'll try and do my best

Honestly I just see a video by you and click, even if I have never played a Mario game lmao. I know it'll be good regardless
Honestly that makes you S class. Need more people like you haha

I still need to play this after I've finished both Star fox and of course Super Metroid. Cool video, Stay as you and keep cool with Super Metroid.

Cute comment Tora
Yo! I also had Yoshi's Island for the Game Boy Advance, it's such an amazing game! Yoshi's Island is easily one of my childhood favorites!
Glad you had it in your life. It definitely made road trips a lot easier for me as a kid haha
This video was so cozy
9:30 Is that some Katawa Shoujo I hear? Good taste, my dude.
Heck yeah it is, I actually made a katawa shoujo video months ago. I love it
It IS Gamer Time

Wait..you...you mean that's.. NOT... a penguin??
My reality is crumbling
I know my mind was blown. I literally just figured it out when making this video and searching for 'the penguin boss'
This is your best video
i love this channel so much,,
I'm really glad. The comment is super appreciated
5:50 Mario went through a fog gate to get to a boss
He really did
"First I wanna look at the frog boss"
Wha... Prince Froggy's name is in the level title, are we really doing it like this today?
I played the game boy advance port a lot as a kid, glad this game is now on the switch its really good
It really is
The Raven on the moon fight kind of anticipates Mario Galaxy.
the frog boss fight awakened all my fetishes
He's a prince, and he's really something else
You should check out Star Ocean 2: The Second Story. I think its the only game that trumps YI for me. Love the videos.
I liked hiccuping structured this video and it way very heartfelt.
I think i'm a little lost but thank you

What is the name of the piano song at the end?
Concord or Nocturne from Katawa Shoujo, can't remember which

Oh dang that's awesome. Really a good first game to have
What's even giant turtle's attack? I don't think I ever let him do it.
I talk about it in the video. He has a charge attack, Dive attack, and a shell bounce attack
