This video makes me think about the times me and my sister played games together( she died in March). We would play mortal kombat and dead or alive just fighting each other those were the good days
"I feel like I'm in a constant state of understanding and not understanding my own place and own path; my own thoughts and actions". This line really resonated with me as all your videos seem to do.
@@HidinginPublicHaha, thanks. Maybe we'll both find an answer out there someday. But in the meantime, keep doing what you're doing and I'll keep watching. ^ ^
Ya know I remember always hearing people say "I blinked and 20 years passed me by" and never really understanding what they meant. But now I do. And I feel like everyone from our generation is starting to experience it as well. And it's so great having technology so we can discuss and convey our emotions to others that feel the same. I find myself getting nostalgic often and just fondly recollecting memories of when I didn't have to go to work and I could just sit and play stupid flash games on my grandmother's computer. Or sit for hours playing smash Bros melee and fantastic four on my GameCube. Time is scary. And as much as I want to live in the past I understand that moving forward is all we can do. Thank you for this video and please never stop making content.
Dude I love your vids, especially these reflective ones you’re absolutely right anything that you enjoy brings back memories my first console was the n64 and my whole family mom, dad, my two sisters and me would sit in the living room and play Tarzan I saw the cartridge the other day and I swear I could see us playing through the game on a rainy Saturday dude I’m 22 and it feels like that was yesterday time really flies and nostalgia is beautiful
The GameCube was also one of my favourite consoles growing up. My personal favorites being Mario Sunshine, F-Zero GX, Smash Melee, and both Pikmins. I played them all with my siblings and it lit up my childhood. I’m glad to see that you had a similar experience as well.
I became so nostalgic, but not in the same way I usually get when I watch videos about my childhood. No, this nostalgia was more of an appreciation of the time I had, not wishing it'd come back but being contempt with what has happened. Thank you for your amazing videos, I hope your sister's graduation was a blast. Stay awesome
I can strangely relate to this, I had a little sister that passed away at age 5, though we never really made memories like this (was very introverted even towards my own family), it really does make me nostalgic and miss having that extra bit of liveliness in the house, we used to have 4 in the house Me, my mom, my dad and my sister and now it's just me and my mom since my dad and sister both had alot of illnesses (I do too, though I am very lucky to be able to probably live a long and healthy life) it has really taught me to cherish the simple moments in life, things that seem normal to me today may be totally different 10 years down the road.
Dawg, the GameCube was ballin. I remember my family first got the GameCube that Christmas of 2003, because there was the commercial for the Zelda bundle with had a port of the 2 NES games (Zelda I and II) and the 2 N64 games (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask). It was the very first home console I ever played outside of the N64 in hotel rooms, and it became my life for like the next 3 years until the Wii came out. (Though I ended up going back to the GameCube multiple times after that). I played those 4 Zelda games addictively of course, but I also played Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, Smash Bros Melee, Soul Calibur II, Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Luigi's Mansion, a whole bunch of anime fighting games (notably Naruto Clash of Ninja 1-2, One Piece Grand Battle/Adventure, DBZ Budokai 1, Zatch Bell Mamodo Battles), Tales of Symphonia, Metroid Prime, Harvest Moon (in particular Magical Melody), Pokemon Colosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness, Viewtiful Joe, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Mario Party 4 and probably a few other games I'm forgetting. Like there were so many games I have fond memories of, and it's hard for me to go back to the GameCube too much nowadays because either I played the games so much that I kind of am burnt out, or because I am so nostalgic for them that it kind of hurts to play since I'm reminded those days are behind me. There was a certain time in my life where I would sit in the classroom and all I could think of was playing the GameCube when I got back. I hated when I'd get headaches from playing so much (which didn't happen too often admittedly), because I wanted to keep playing! There's so many memories I have from back then, and then I have a ton of memories from other stuff I got into at the time, that nowadays I'm impressed with myself from back then for being into so many different things.
Honestly, while I can’t communicate myself like you do, the memories that I have with my first console ( GameCube) is truly one of the best memories in my childhood, heck my whole life.
I feel that early thought of feeling like life after high school wasn't a thing that would happen, it's drilled into us that school is everything and you sometimes forget life has still to come :D
@@HidinginPublic I think what kinda drove this series home with me especially PIKMIN 2 was Captain Olimar's loneliness....his depression and how he tries to look on the bright side but ultimately through his notes you can see his overwhelming sadness that seemed to start as a child and I haven't seen a Nintendo character to do it since.
Great video man! I really like your channel ❤. Your video brings back loads of memorys for me, cause I never had a gamecube, but my family had an N64, and large part of my childhood will always be linked to games like Super Smash Bros, Mario 64, Goldeneye, Mario Party 2, Pokemon Stadium, Diddy Kong Racing, and Star Fox. Even years later, I'll never forget being with my brothers and playing these games.
Thank you for this... I think I'm the same age as you and have been experiencing this sort of thing a lot the last few months. Your video hit the tone of the feeling perfectly. It really is scary knowing you can't ever really go back and that you can only try to move forward without ever forgetting the past or forgetting to enjoy the moment you're living in. Love your videos, keep it up bud.
Another note, I actually used to do that thing about making notes all the time. I forgot many of them too sadly but also happily I suppose, like you said :D
The GameCube was a very important part of my childhood, moving around so much as a child I never could make lasting friendships, but my brothers connected with eachother through the Cube and made us grow closer. Idk how my life would be without this console

I like how you mentioned your sister not wanting to play multiplayer games with you. Especially Pikmin 2 because you'd always beat her. Me and my sister were/are the same exact way. It’s no rom-com or slice of life anime that you’re used to covering (not that there’s anything wrong please continue I love those videos) , but I believe it covers aspects of the human psyche that hit close to home. Which is the song you used in video?
Yado inn theme from mother 3 and Kanata no theme from lucky star
Thanks a lot pal, hope your mother gets better soon, keep it up with the channel!
Sure thing man, thank you!
Get one of the Gamecube HDMI solutions! That way you can capture directly and have it look great! It's my favorite generation :D
The converter works with all nintendo, sony and Xbox from that generation all the way to the NES! I'm set!
@@HidinginPublic I'm not sure if I want to send you down the rabbit hole of old console video quality, but if you're interested, there's far better ways to capture footage than composite (the yellow cable).
I recommend watching a channel called MyLifeInGaming, they do really in depth videos on getting the best video quality from basically every console generation.
@@excadrillo99 alright i'll check it out
Woah... i just realized i will eventually not go to school anymore,,,, omgg
trippy
I still got my gc and play it when i can 😂
It's just a good console man
@@HidinginPublic it the original indigo model from 2001 that came with super mario sunshine.
Hey hiding do you listen to potsu? I think you'd like him.
I don't think I've heard of him. What would you reccomend
@@HidinginPublic my favorite song of his is definitely Take Me There.
EDIT: put the wrong thing, it's Take Me There, I put take me home because I was thinking of country roads for some reason.
Also most games back then were mostly 4:3.
yeah, I think when putting them on the TV with the converter it automatically stretched it, but I don't think it looks too bad, atleast on the video
Where my melee boys at
Can't believe I somehow skipped over it. I played abd loved the death out of melee
Is it just me or graduation from high school and getting married don’t really go together?
Depends who you are, and what situation you're in. They actually have a better chance at success than someone who gets married in their mid/late 20's statistically speaking. That being said, it's definitely not what I would want. but it's not my life, it's theirs. I support them.
Hiding in Public i see. Hopefully they have the maturity and resources to make it last!
Next video should be "what an itchy a-sshole means to me". Assuming you deal with one like I do...
Um, I don't think I do
Who here plays super monkey ball 2.
Flexing in public
I like you
Thanks, glad to hear it
Have you, by chance, study philosophy?
